Deceased DH was on various BOD's over the years - it convinced me that I never want to do it.

Diane S, I know you think your life is quite routine. But I think it sounds pretty darned beatific. I always feel more peaceful after reading your daily diary.

Greetings all
Sunny and warm. I did my gym walk and managed to find one with a tv I could see. Only problem it was tuned to the Fishing Channel or some such thing. Watched an old man with probably $20K worth of equipment and boat sit in a pond, catch a fish, pat it on the head and then let it go. Really? Anyway after that I did the studio for a bit. We also got a proposal back from the gallery landlord after only 4 months. They want to jack up the rent quite a bit so we shall see.
Liz let the partying begin! Oh wait, it already has! What fun. It may be a bit frantic but you will roll with it just fine. Enjoy and revel!
Yeah CC I hear you. You probably were targeted for HOA board because you are newer to the neighborhood. The nonsense factor is considerable. Do your term and then quit. meanwhile have fun with your friends. Jewelry show sounds cool.
Bean dinner Miss 150. Sounds good. Just heard a radio interview on "The Brain Diet" about what to eat to avoid alzheimers. It's pretty much the mediterranean diet. Lots of beans and olive oil and berries. One interesting idea to get in the leafy greens needed each day is just to toss them in with poaching eggs. Effectively eggs florentine. Sounds tolerable to me.
Yeah Peps and all, it is disturbing when others comment about how little you eat. It's no better than commenting on how much you eat if it's a lot. Both are absurd. Soldier on.
Our football team plays tomorrow in the east so it's 9 am pacific time. So I can watch that and get to the festival later in the day. Such a busy life I lead.
DH brought home chinese take out so thats dinner. Then it's back to freezer spelunking.

Peps, I wholeheartedly agree with Miss250--your last staff badge photo is really good!

My friend and his new partner are in town this weekend for a gallery show the partner's family company is in. I have yet to meet him and he will mostly be busy with work, but we will have lunch tomorrow. My friend and I will have 3 meals out together over the next two days. Argh... And I was 183 this morning too. Rats.
HOA discord in the community today. We were offered a new internet tower upgrade from the neighborhood provider for free, but as they say, beware Greeks bearing gifts. It's substantially taller than the last one and neighbors are pissed. The pictures we were sent did not show the height disparity and no one including me thought to ask. Why did I offer to be on the board?! Request to you all, in future if I ever mention being on a board of any kind scream at me NO! through your keyboards!
I should go clean myself up and tidy some more. Have a great day, all! Liz, sending nothing but good thoughts for a seamless joy-filled wedding weekend!
Nothing related to post, but, The picture you posted of school ID card was amazing! How "all's well in my world " contentment shown on your handsome face. Looking so good.
It's hard when those closest to us misinterpret or assign our actions as an affront to the relationship.

Well, poo! I have just lost my post containing many a well wishes for upcoming wedding and good job, Liz, for hard work in the planning, effort and process. Stop, set down the to do list and just enjoy the weekend. Sending all smiles and joy your way.
This weekend is Fall Festival in our former community and Kurt's last Lions service event. 30 years of free Friday bean feeds, Saturday parades, and Sunday Demolition Derby's (never did get around to attending that one ). Swanny will be sporting bells and whistles in the dog walk competition (the closest he'll ever get to a dog show-ever).
Somehow I have very little ambition or energy today and am pre planning a nap between an open house event and the bean dinner/music and dance this evening- no plans for house, save laundry and picture placement (in my mind's eye only).
Later, gators!

I think our partners enjoy having an eating partner and when we are not on the same page it makes them question their own eating habits. When I had VSG Ron lost weight, too. This time, though, he seems entrenched in his own eating dysfunctions and while he believes that he is eating less because of smaller portions, he is snacking a lot more so his weight is quite stable. He is also alarmed that I am smaller than he is now.
Other than the sweets, your description of your interest in food fits me exactly too. DH also "accused me of having no interest in food anymore" at one point but he has gotten used to where I am with food now so doesn't complain. But really isn't it weird that our partners feel like it hurts them when we aren't obsessed with food?
