The "Love the Pearls" luncheon was a presentation about pearls (kinds, colors, etc), how to take care of them - essentially everything about them. Everyone received a nice pair of Pearl studs and there were drawings for 5-6 pieces of other quality jewelry. Then of course the opportunity to purchase some, which I did using my upcoming birthday as an excuse. They had all different price points. Here is a link to their site explaining what they do: https://lovethepearls.com/
DD got home okay then met with her doctor (at the doctor's request) to discuss the upcoming biopsy. The doctor spent a lot of time going over DD's medical history because she is baffled by what is happening. Lots of questions. She also had a good discussion with DD about DD and her husband's feelings about children (not wanting any). The last time they somewhat touched on this was before DD was married. In light of what is going on this could be relevant for her to understand. DD felt good about the discussion and the biopsy is going to happen on Thursday.
Two days before we leave for our 11 day trip to BVI. Time to get serious about packing! It is supposed to be sunny with that darn cool north wind again today so a good day to do that. That wind has been a real pain this year.
Tonight we are going to a production of Singing in the Rain which everyone says is wonderful. Leftovers before that because we are only here one more night.
Time to walk Justice first. Have a topical Tuesday!

I love loaded baked potatoes! Probably more than pizza.
I wouldn't have delayed retirement due to the stock market either. Of course I have always had pretty conservative investments so though they go down they don't break the bank and then they go up again. But I have never dipped a lot into investments because I had social security and a pension. I don't know how your pensions work but I was able to get mine even though I was 62 when I retired. I think anyone over 55 could start it.

I am so with you on the best approach to projects! I may do a little DYI, but nowhere near what I used to attempt. Partially because getting my body into the position needed for some efforts is impossible these days. Can't even get off the floor without grabbing something.

If you concentrate on figuring out how to maintain where you are, I think your body will figure out it's comfortable set point (which could be 129 which is pretty great).

I think it's worse than those! So much sap. Crying. Southernisms. Expressing every emotion they've ever felt in one sitting. While crying. In a heavy southern accent. With sappy background music.
Thanks for the reminder! I had baked potatoes (with cheese, broccoli and bacon pieces) on the menu for Sunday but we just ate leftovers instead! That will be our dinner tomorrow or the next day!
Home remodeling: when DH and I wallpapered our kitchen as newlyweds and we survived it, I knew we would be married forever. Definitely a crucible moment when all is laid bare.
Look forward to more reports of the 3 wheeled bike. Electric assist is genius.
Sometimes a saccharine TV show is needed! During Covid, we discovered the British Bakeoff. It was so soothing during those stressful days.
One of my colleagues is putting off retiring this year due to the stock market. She is younger than me, so maybe she was going to rely on IRA money before tapping our pension. My major cash flow will be from my pension, and being older, I am taking a small penalty for retiring at 64 instead of 65. I'm okay with that. We'll just have to let our investments ride for some time. Haha, nothing will stop me from retiring now.
I had a 7:15 am IEP meeting this morning, on this morning of all Monday mornings. Does our scheduler hate me? Otherwise, an uneventful day.
DH was very pleased with his dinner menu tonight: loaded baked potatoes instead of a frozen pizza. I agreed, a nice change. :)
Greetings all
Nice sunny day here and fairly warm. Big storms are predicted for mid week so we will get ready. Plumber is coming wed to estimate a new garbage disposer plus under sink water heater. No do-it-yourself here anymore.
Ann glad you are back to the attic. yearning for a washing machine! Laundrymatt blues! Hope it all gets done soon. Yeah my DH and I cannot work on any projects together. We totally disagree on how to go about anything. Him: lets find the slowest least efficient and most elaborate way to do this, Me: lets hurry up and get this over with with the least effort.
CC glad your home is your own again. Thanks for the thoughts on Sweet Magnolias. It it as sappy as The Good Witch or Virgin River? Both are death to the pancreas but of course we watched.
We watched the rest of Zero Day last night. Great series. And sort of timely.
Yay for restaurant leftovers Liz. My favorite. What you don't eat can be frozen until it is unrecognizable. Then tossed.
More lentil soup tonight. DH finds it bland which it is. I thawed some ham to add.
My desk has reached crisis proportions. Getting stuff together for gallery tax return and could not find data sheet. Had to sheepishly ask our treasurer for another. And there is some mail I cannot find. Must toss much.
Did my walking today to Les Miz. The broadway version. I like it better than the London version.
Well tonight is the acid test. I wash my hair myself and then see how the new cut looks without a stylist. Could be scary.
Yay Ocean Diane on trike. Looking forward to what you think of it. So wonderful that your church people help. Means a lot. Doing the right thing is not out of style!
Peps that little Bug is adorable. Ms Bug.

129. I'm disappointed that I am no longer losing but shouldn't be since I am nicely maintaining at goal. Always wanting more I guess!
Treadmill exercise complete! Today I did 40 minutes at 3.6 mph with intervals between 3-5%. Increasing a bit each week!
Did a webinar on Esty SEO optimization this morning. Gotta figure out how to increase traffic and sales!
Boys are getting their way for dinner. Grilled teriyaki pineapple chicken. High of 63 degrees today but feels like 53 with wind! Still a *****illy for me, I'll be wearing a coat!
Liz, happy you had a great visit with DD and SIL! Hopefully they home safe and sound. What is a love the pearls luncheon?
Glad you had a good time with friends visiting!
I was eyeing the Sweet Magnolias series on Netflix, thanks for the heads up. I'm currently watching Younger on Netflix. It is about a 40 year old divorced woman trying to get back into the workforce and she experiences age discrimination so she reinvents herself as a 26 year old, gets a job and has to live a new younger life. Totally brainless thing to watch, lots of sex and drinking themes. Perfect for my treadmill workouts. Two 20 minute episodes gets me through my 40 minute workout!
