Fresh whipped cream, always a good choice. I have such cognitive dissonance about whipped cream. How can anything so light, so airy, so fluffy, have a lot of calories? My brain refuses to believe it.

Hot here still! 87 at the moment. But there is a 62 in the 10 day forecast. Hope they aren't lying. My friend Cathy and I went to the Sedona Art festival. Amy did not come as a very good friend of hers who I have met passed away last night and she was devastated. He was a nice man and it's not clear what was wrong, but he'd lost a tremendous amount of weight this year. The thinking was it was neurological and his whole body shut down.
I bought a few things (a very cute purse from a woman from Ghana and Mozambique), a small covered handmade ceramic dish, and two handmade suede pot holders that are washable in the colors of my kitchen. And one of the artists is bringing an oil painting over after the show. It is way too big for me to have carried myself. Lord were we sweaty. So much direct sun! I feel for the artists there for 2 days.
After we went for lunch and I had the best huevos rancheros. One the way home, Amy called and asked if we could stop at the pet store for doggy diapers because Lucy indeed was in heat! Kirby's instincts were on the money. Thankfully he didn't know what to do with her or we would be dealing with adorable puppies... She looked awfully cute in the diapers.
I should tidy up here. PS - there is a snake in my garage stuck in a glue trap. I feel bad for it, but he shouldn't have come in my garage! The guy comes tomorrow to seal up the corners of the doors...
Off to tidy!
That soup looks wonderful!

Good luck tomorrow. As most of us know the prep is the worst part.

Our neck of the woods is a bit behind of everybody. In the low 80's and sunny; gentle breeze from the north, so maybe I spoke too soon and the weather is on the way. Yay, sweater weather!
No good ideas for choosing a bed. I always thought a firm mattress was the way to go, but have discovered, for me (side sleeper) with older bones, a softer, memory foam works well. Maybe an adjustable split sided mattress would keep you out of the middle, which I agree is not a bit comfortable.
Funny how that happens! You can't wait to wear something but then you don't like it so much anymore.

Very blustery day today. Not ready for what is coming! I?m making a sausage mushroom soup for dinner. One of our favorites!
Morning was spent at church meeting with potential new Stephen?s Ministers. Then came home and took an hour nap. Still need to do housecleaning. I?ve started the laundry. Would like to dust and get bathrooms done yet today as well.
Do you all have a favorite mattress? I cannot find a comfortable bed to save my life! I?ve tried a sleep number and most recently a Nectar bed. I?m a side sleeper mostly (sometimes belly) and get pain in my lower back and sometimes hips. I also sleep with one arm under my pillow and have problems with my arm falling asleep or my shoulder hurting from the pressure of my head. I feel with the Nectar both Kevin and I roll into the middle and because he is heavier, my lower back gets pulled into that middle valley. I think I like a softer bed but maybe what I really need one with more support. Think we might go bed shopping this week.
Creamy mushroom sausage soup
1 lb. Italian sausage
1 large onion, chopped
16 oz. sliced mushrooms

4 T butter
Spices to taste - salt, pepper, thyme, oregano, basil and red pepper flakes
7-8 cups chicken broth

4 C spinach leaves
1 C heavy cream (I use fat free half and half to make just a bit healthier)
1 C shredded Italian blend cheeses
1/2 C Parmesan cheese
Cook sausage until done and set aside
Sauté onion, garlic and mushrooms in butter until onions are done
Add spices
Add chicken broth and bring to a boil
Add pasta and coo****il done

Add back cooked sausage
Enjoy!

Summer's exposed toes have returned to their natural color and sandals are lined up and waiting a good inspection and buffing up before returning to boxes and a long winter's nap. Nice foot wear has always been a thing with me, probably because they were the only fashion things that I didn't buy, no matter how awful, just because it fit. When I could, I totally went overboard with the wardrobe (luckily for the wallet, Saint Vinnies provided innumerable opportunities to overindulge). So, curious, Devon, did you buy all those lovely shirts sized for now, later, or a combination? I love a good deal and score a big one on you
Today, I'm prepping for a colonoscopy for tomorrow morning (routine) so of course, every time I walk into the kitchen I focus on the food nibbling I'm being deprived of. Can't say that true hunger has anything to do with the itch to eat, but does strongly indicate how much of a day's time is devoted to eating or thinking about food or planning and preparing the stuff. Shoot, I could have solved the worlds biggest problems with in the space of time I've devoted to the subject of "food" -
Speaking of which, I'm thinking right now just how I intend to dress up this gosh awful plain and inadequate orange jello tomorrow afternoon with fruity goodness and a mountain of fresh whipped cream.
Thinking it's about time to blow off some of the day with a book fallowed by a nap, then walkies with the Swann who, while remaining cool, calm and happy, especially enjoys provoking the neighborhood dogs to much verbal excitement.

Enjoy your new, smaller, better fitting clothes. Sounds like you got a very good deal. You've worked too long and too hard not to be dressed in clothes that suit you. (Which is what I tell myself every time I buy something new).
Funny thing about clothes. I shopped in my closet and was happy to put some old favorites back into rotation. Some pieces are 7 years old (or older) and I was desperate to wear them again. Now, not so much. I find they've hung there most of the summer, and I've reached for the new stuff over and over. Probably time for another closet clean out and to admit to myself that even though they fit again, their season with me is done.
