Your dolphin has welcomed you home! How nice that even though your DS lives on the other side of the country, he visits! And what a lovely place to visit. Enjoy getting settled in.

Ann, enjoy putting together your new home with your beloved. New adventures!

Thinking of Diane S, and hoping procedure and recovery go smoothly.

This morning I got texts that my Dad fell, hit his head, big gash, and was in the ER. This is exactly what I fear. My Mom is quite disabled so she cannot help him much, and can not do much for herself. My brother went to take care of her, and my SIL went to the hospital with my Dad. He had a CT scan and thankfully no bleeding. But my Dad has been sick with diarrhea and nausea for many days, so they are doing a CT scan of his abdomen. I haven't heard yet about results, which is of course concerning.

I called my Mom during my prep. She was upstairs and it seemed my Dad was downstairs longer than normal getting breakfast. She finally got her walker and called down the stairs, and he answered I'm hurt. So maybe he was unconscious for a bit. She rode her stairlift down, and using her walker, got him a pillow and a blanket and then called my SIL. Luckily SIL called 911 immediately. They live in the country. It's already a wait for the ambulance. If my SIL hadn't answered, how long would my Dad have laid on the floor, bleeding? It chills me. Since no one has texted me for a bit, I think he is probably spending the night. I hope so. My brother will stay overnight with my Mom.

Aging, not for the faint of heart.

We have tickets tonight for Some Like it Hot Broadway touring show tonight. Then off to Galveston tomorrow. I managed not to pack every sundress I own.

I've been MIA for a while. Our new home closed last Friday, and we've been absorbed with so much involving the usual utilities, garbage pickup, cleaning supplies--but mostly meeting with contractors about remodeling we want to do.

Right now we're driving a U-Hail up to Cincinnati to pick up some furnishings we've bought online at an auction house. Our new home is going to be gorgeous once we've finished with it. DF loves doing this stuff and is really good at visualizing what needs to be done. He's done this twice before. Me--not so much, although once I understand what he is imagining I seldom have anything but enthusiasm.

I'll be back in touch when our days aren't 18 hours full.

Weight 118.6.

We are here in Florida! Traveling was mostly smooth except it took an extra 45 minutes to get off of Cape Cod (the end of a long weekend with rain early). We saw a friend/DH's former lawyer on the plane and she gave us a ride home so no Uber needed. The only other "glitch" was that the elevator here isn't working, likely because of the hurricane. We are on the third floor so DH had to haul 3 suitcases up the stairs. It probably hasn't been reported because we appear to be the only people here out of the 11 units in the building.

I have already started post-bachelorette cleanup. We left early after that weekend so the sheets and towels are piled up in the hallway to be cleaned. DS comes on Friday for a week following his workweek in Orlando so we need to get the guest room/bathroom functioning.

The new lanai furniture I ordered on bachelorette weekend is arriving on Wednesday! Perfect timing. Next I need to concentrate on a coffee table for the lanai and replacement chairs for the living room. It will take my mind off of missing my former Cape Cod home.

But first beach! I lost most of my tan this summer which has never happened since I retired. Oh and a dolphin is already playing in the water outside our home

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Good luck with the procedure!

I had to laugh at big city freeway driving followed by Santa Rosa! To this Bay Area boy, Santa Rosa traffic is pretty damn tame!

Greetings all

ipad check in from Marin county. Drive went mostly ok and I am grateful for dh as I am not sure I can do big city freeway driving anymore. Santa Rosa rush hour was bad and we had a couple of interesting episodes with ev chargers. Like the charger would not let us unplug, stupid

so tonight I ordered my first ever DoorDash. Got two sandwiches and together we could not even eat one.

not looking forward to procedure except doctor is a hoot.

lordy I am tech tired after all this directional stuff. But at least we have no car rodents.
cheers. Diane s

When our DS was at Stout, it was about 1.25 hour drive from our house. I loved being able to go visit him for dinner, or lunch on the weekend. Now Madison is about 5 hours. Enjoy your dinner with him!
