We got a BMW X3. Both of us like BMWs - DH traded in his 435i coupe and I still have a convertible back north. DH would have preferred a corvette LOL. We both would have had an even harder time getting in and out and of course no back seat at all (at least my convertible has a small one that the dog rides on). In lieu of that DH would have preferred a larger model but I just don't like driving them bigger. Jealous on the Firebird with the T-roof. I wanted one of those for years but it was never practical with a child.

I also think it will really sink in during September. I've been dreaming for so long about traveling during shoulder season. That's when I'll know I really am retired.
Squats are my jam! I love squats and do them a lot! Weighted squats, Bosu ball squats, slant board squats, TRX squats, etc... I am built for squats... Short, thick legs. I have a lot of leg strength.
What I hate are things like lunges and things that require a lot of single leg balance and flexibility, because that is what I lack. Thus the goal of single leg squats on a bosu ball!
Paula, I encourage you both to get passports. With passports all things are possible! Without passports fewer things are possible.

I have a feeling that it won't hit until late in the summer when it's time to go BACK to school. Summer vacation is a staple in my life. Therefore, I think the reality of retirement will hit in late August and early September when I am not back at work with my colleagues. Whoo hoo!
My fear is that I will permanently lounge! I have a history of "lounging" summers away and not checking things off the domestic to do list! But, I do have to look at the fact that even my summers are packed full of dog activities and clients and road trips. It's not terribly surprising I don't get sh*t done around the house as I would like.
