Despite the cold, we got a fair number of trick or treaters. DH did most of the door tending. I was in the family room, huddled under a quilt, catching up on reading newspapers.
Quarter 1 is in the books. All my grading is done. I started planning for the next few weeks, and I'm kind of excited about tweaks I've made to some of my lessons using artificial intelligence. For example, I have a quarter reflection sheet for students to complete, and I thought some of my questions needed a little jazzing up. So I asked Chat GPT to write a reflection activity. I integrated some of it's reflection questions with the ones I still liked from my previous activity, and freshened it up.
No specific plans for this weekend, which is good. Last weekend was busy, and next weekend I am staying with my Mom while the men go deer hunting, so I need some time at home for the inevitable tasks of life.
- of course we all understand food analogies!

I love how you decorate Liz. Your DH probably didn't know he cared about design until he was actually living with your tasteful decor. Like if you've eaten nothing but margarine, so you don't think you care much about what's on your toast, but then you have Kerry gold butter and think, I only want it like this from now on. I mean of course I had to use a food analogy!
Holy moley! 500+ trick or treaters! We had around 350 one year and I thought that was crazy.
I think you feel about the heated air like how I feel about air conditioning. I try to hold off as long as I can, but then there comes a day when I must turn it on.

I use the heated steering wheel even when it's hot out if my fingers are particularly arthritic... feels amazing.

I've been thinking about you and hoping things were as well as could be expected. Glad to see you back!
Greetings all
Yep Halloween was epic last night. The rain held off and we had 533 kids. Our street is heavily decorated and some neighbors put up booths in the driveways for treats and who knows what else. Kids of all ages including 6 foot ones but they were all very well behaved. Toddlers brought to the door by parents. Lots of prom queens and ghouls. It was all fun. But I am sure tired out. So much prep. When I went to pick up the deli trays they had never heard of my order so I had to wait for them to make it all up. Put us behind. Guests showed up with charcuterie so we had way too much food. The dessert queen brought fabulous cookies. DH and his buddy did most of the candy distribution and they are sort of a smothers brothers comedy act. i think everyone had fun but DH and I were pretty worn out. We have excess candy so I will take it to the studio or gallery or something. The candy really does not call to me anymore but the cookies...I only ate one and sent the rest away.
Guess we will be eating cold cuts for the next few days. This deli does really good quality stuff so it's all good.
Liz I am with you - I like color. But I am glad your new neighbors are nice and you are getting acquainted.
Lizanne good to hear from you. Check in when you can.
Heated floors CC! How wonderful. Great feature.
And yeah DD, a heated steering wheel rocks especially when you have sore hands. Use it all the time.
Peps the Tweedle boys picture was great. Good costume idea.
Dessert queen invited me to a lunch group consisting of retired lawyers who show dogs! My tribe !!
So the rain is here today and probably for a few days. Ok by me. I plan to laze about and deal with the aftermath. And yes Liz, the dogs get banished to the back bedroom as the are so pesky. We let them out after our guests left so they got to see a few trick or treaters. Poppy was dumbfounded by them.
Time for cold cuts. Diane S
