Weight down 4 lbs. from where my "normal" had been. Am I correct that the weight loss from the GLP 1 meds isn't just from calorie reduction but from hormonal and maybe metabolic changes. My daily calories are only a little less but the weight is coming off pretty good I would say! Burning calories more efficiently? That would be awesome because it has always been more of a metabolism problem vs. food volume problem for me.

Took my Mom home today. I'm meeting one of my besties out for dinner in my home town. Will sleep on an air mattress at Mop's assisted living apartment and head home early as DC#1 will be discharged tomorrow from the hospital and will need a ride home.

Starving right now. I had my super protein shake for breakfast but nothing since then. BFF and I are going to an upscale Mexican place with lots of seafood selections. Right up my alley!

I'll update about DC a little more on the TT board after dinner.

Yay on tackling the list! Bet it feels good to have all that stuff done even if the doing isn't fun.

The a/v guys have been and gone. They installed a tv on the wall in my bedroom, fixed the programming on a bunch of a/v stuff, and rehooked up the tv in my dad's room. Kirby was in heaven with pets from the guys.

We had a doozy of a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon with more heat and humidity today. I guess it's all moisture from a tropical storm in the Gulf. 94 and humid is not as nice as 94 and bone dry!

One of my friends here started Wegovy. She is the one with the heart issues, so I think she got it covered by Medicare as a result. But the pharmacy screwed up and gave her .5 instead of the starter .25! She's been sick and exhausted since Wednesday. A poor way to start on a new med...

Not much else to report. Putting together my Flor rugs in fits and starts.

Take care all!

Greetings al

Puttering around with The List. It's kind of overcast today and I am hoping that goes away. I have gotten some things done. The guest room is pretty much ready with all linens washed and things dusted. Still must spackle wall from where DH took ugly shelves down. I am decluttering surfaces and generally getting organized. Have a grocery list for brother's picky eating needs. Still need to groom the dogs so they don't look like hyenas.

DH is out to lunch and will bring Chinese take out home. Yay.

Safe travels Liz. Always good to get home and enjoy the special comfort. But basement exploration? No thanks.

DD sorry the concert canceled. Tell us what summer cooking items you come up with. I keep forgetting about the Healthy choice frozen meals and should probably investigate as per Liz comments.

Gallery duty tomorrow. My inventory is low as usual and I won't have more until Monday. Oh well.

We watched the rest of Masters of the Air. Really good series. I did not realized until the end that some of the characters were real people who went on to more accomplishments after the war. Great people.

Sending positive thoughts to Paula.

Peps Disney Pride night looked like a hoot. How fun. Did you do the Haunted House? My favorite.

Time to relax and forget school for a few weeks!

It is easy to get out of the habit of cooking.

When I saw your pictures on Facebook, I was wondering if you got a last night sunset. Nonetheless, gorgeous setting.

The outdoor concert was cancelled earlier in the day, so we didn't have to decide ourselves. With a high of 64, and high humidity, it wasn't an evening to sit outside, rain or no rain. Today's forecast is bands of rain, some strong. Currently in between bands of rain, so still don't know what to think about whether baseball is on or not. Forecast is to dry out on Sunday. I can't wait.

Since we were staying home, I made dinner for the first time in forever. I'm hoping to get back into the cooking routine over the summer and give DH a break.

I dreamed last night that the new administrator that's been a real pain gave me a class of students who didn't pass Algebra 1 1st semester, and now I was going to teach them it again. In the dream I had no roster, no seating chart, no books and no lesson plans. Also, I am not at all good at math! Part of the dream involved putting out a fire in the wastebasket. Guess school is still stressing me out a bit!

Well time to finish the tea, and go workout!

28 jars! I am in awe!

Trying to gain weight back is weird, isn't it? After VSG at one point I dropped as low as 113 which was way too thin and had to do the same. Once I get to 125 I will probably need to add some smaller meals too - similar to maintenance after VSG where for quite a while I ate a small amount approximately every 3 hours.

Somehow I always seem to swallow the wrong way when eating in public. Coughing and eyes watering with everyone looking to see if you are breathing...

Cape Cod will be hot, but 10-15 degrees cooler than Boston, so it is bearable. The basement is always cool so that is actually a good place to start our work (and I do have central AC).

Weight 128 (-1): 3 pounds to goal. Good weight loss at this point. I have been trying to eat a bit more (especially protein). Also we ate out last night where I ate more than some other times so that's really quite good.

Great dinner out by the way at a resort a couple down from us. We had a very romantic view of the water and would have had one of the sunset except there wasn't one to be seen. Good service and delicious meal which we split - both of us had plenty.

I got up what I thought was an hour later than usual but it turns out it was just that the clock was off (it was correct other mornings so that was weird). Anyway it is 7 am and we have about 4 hours left before we leave for the airport.

It always feels sad to leave (I feel that way when I leave anywhere that I have enjoyed LOL), but I am really ready to be home. DS will pick us up at the airport and with luck we will be home by 9 pm to eat the Healthy Choice meals he picked up for us (we realized there would be nothing open by the time we got home).

Tomorrow we dig into basement sorting and throwing. Have a frugivorous Friday!

We were supposed to go to San Diego today to visit my DH's uncle (97) and aunt (100), but Uncle came down with a bad/cold cough (not Covid, fortunately), and so the trip has to be postponed. Instead, I made 28 jars of lovely tart plum jam with my BFF...so yummy.

I am making a conscious effort to eat more, protein and otherwise. I am at the lowest weight I have been since I was about 30 (and that's 40 years ago!), but I think my face is starting to look a wee bit gaunt, so I am going to try to gain back 5 lbs. I lost that last 5 when I was in Europe early last month (with my BFF). We spent a week in Paris and then another week in Switzerland with college friends. We averaged over 5 miles a day walking, and I just didn't eat enough. At home, I have multiple smaller meals since I can't eat much volume, but there, I was probably only eating 2 "real" meals a day with only the occasional snack (and then it was probably half a pastry!). It is absolutely the weirdest experience EVER. In the past, I would walk by a bowl of ice cream or a cookie and gain 5 lbs just glancing at it. But I am not gaining. Not losing either, though, so that's good. I think the semaglutide has really increased my metabolism. Anyway, it's a novel feeling!
