New old member as well, only with a REALLY long hiatus. I joined when Diane set it up but got out of the habit of checking in. It's nice to be back!

In my head I was thinking that meme of Ron Burgundy, "Boy, that escalated quickly..."
Oh my gosh CC, you are the best of people! And isn't stunning how often good deeds lead to punishment?
I have my Great Aunt's diploma and yearbook pre WWII era. She never married, and was in many ways a second mother to my Dad and his siblings, and another Grandma for me and my cousins. My cousins kids and my kids knew her a little, and know her through our stories. But what will happen to the few things she left us when I am gone? It's these types of items that I feel some sadness for. If my China ends up in a thrift store, some other family can enjoy it with my blessing. But who will love the cherished items that only carry sentimental value for a select few of us?

Nice thunderstorm right now. We earned it with as hot and humid it was today! It's blue sky looking south across my backyard, but dark and stormy here. Hmm, now flash flood warnings for Sedona. The storm is parked with .5 inches in the last 30 minutes.
I went to lunch with my friend and we went to 3 places with hour plus waits before we landed at the fourth. This is supposed to be the slow season! But we had fun anyway. She is the one I told you started Wegovy accidentally with the .5 dose. She sure couldn't eat much from the nausea and bloat of a slowed system, but wanted out of the house.
A bit of "a good deed never goes unpunished" this afternoon. I had noticed when I walked Kirby at sunset yesterday that the house under construction next to me had a lot of run off on part of their lot. I chalked it up to maybe the patio tile guys rinsing off their equipment at the end of the day and I must have just missed them.
Well, taking my neighbor home after lunch, I noticed there was still a lot of water. I texted the wife thinking they could come over and look. Well, she has bad Covid and he was away until Tuesday. She asked if I would go over and shut it off, assuming it was a hose left on. It's humid and 93 and I'm crawling down a wall into their patio area to find it's POURING out of their irrigation box. I don't know how to shut that off. So I sent a video of that and she said her husband would find someone to figure it out. But a phone call later, he couldn't find anyone and asked if I would go turn of the water to the property, which is in an 18in deep hole with a horned lizard inside. I tried to kneel on the concrete edge of the box and burned my knees and couldn't get it to move with my hammer. I found a construction shovel in the sun and used the handle as a lever (thanks high school science!) to move it, but burnt my palms in the process on the hot metal. So sweating, hot, burned, and covered in red dirt, I emerged triumphant! Hope I saved them $1000 or so. She said she'd take me to lunch when I come back from MI. I would hope someone would do the same for me.
With trash day tomorrow, tonight is collecting trash and emptying the fridge of things I won't eat before Thursday. Anything from tomorrow through Wednesday I can put in my neighbor's trash.
I think that's me for the day. Take care all!
I had stuff in my basement that I moved from my grandmother's home to my mother's home to my 20 year home to here. I finally threw it away today because it has been in boxes all those years - I will never look at it again nor will my children. Hard to give up stuff sometimes.
