Greetings all
Happy 4th!. It's warm and sunny here which means there will be beaucoup beach fireworks. Getting out the CBD oil for poor Tesla who will be terrified. We had a few explosions last night which sounded close. It even makes me jumpy. Maybe I need a little dose too.
Yea small protein snacks Paula are a hard thing to come up with. Years ago I made some little balls with protein powder and peanut butter. Not so good. Maybe just almonds or other nuts. Jerky is good but not if meat is not high on the list. Wish I had more ideas.
Lizanne sounds like you have a super party planned. Bet you have good fireworks view. Enjoy.
Liz hope you can do something besides work on the house. Enjoy.
CC mouth dirt! My dogs get it too. I bet you get great fireworks over the water too.
We are going to watch the 4th on tv. Can't be bothered to go to a public display plus hate noise and must baby sit neurotic dogs. At least DH took both dogs for walks today so it tires them some. DH has this new electronic tracking collar for Poppy that is quite the gadget - locates her at all times and gives a map of where she has been. He takes her for a walk and then checks the map to see how accurate it is. Of course this is no longer needed as the fence is now Guantanamo safe but oh well.
Steak tonight. Did not make it last night due to DH bringing home turkey wrap.
Spent some studio time today. More banana slug figures. Easy to make. Place was pretty empty.

Happy Independence Day!
Down another pound! That makes 9!
DH slept today after working a 13 hour shift last night. I decided to make a trip to the Green Bay Botanical gardens and get more floral pics for my biz! Very hot and humid but completely cloudy which is what I want for taking the photographs.
DH and I just went out for "Lupper" since neither of us had lunch. I ordered 2 shredded chicken hard shell tacos and ate all but 2 bites. Cheap date as each is only $2.25! I'll try and have a protein heavy snack later on tonight. My goal is to get in about 1,000 calories a day and at least 80 grams of protein.
I asked before but my post was late in the day and I don't think was seen by many of you. I need suggestions on protein snacks, ways to get that extra protein in. Protein is hard for me as I don't really love meat. The vanilla protein powder I bought (and Costco sized at that) is making me feel sick. I did order a variety pack of Pure Protein ready made drinks at 30 grams of protein each. I think I remember being able to stomach them when I had VSG.
I think we might go in the hot tub if it doesn't rain tonight. Would like a glass of wine but right now that doesn't sound appealing. No cravings for sweets, what a change that is! I was craving sweet and salty snacks alternating between the two before and now no food sounds really great, but Mexican so far seems to be my favorite. DH suggested Asian tonight and that sounded disgusting. I remember having an aversion to Asian food when I was pregnant!
Hope you are all enjoying your Holiday! Praying for rain at bedtime so we can all sleep (sans fireworks)! Of course rain could bring thunder which also freaks out poor Emma dog!

Your corn salad sounds really interesting and delicious!
Sounds like you are throwing a great party!

Happy 4th, all!
I am gearing up for a long busy day. My BFF's son is getting married Saturday, and his fiancee's family (11 of them) are here from Vermont for the first time. So I am hosting 26 for dinner tonight...and then after that the neighbors will join the party to watch our really-pretty-good-for-a-small-town fireworks from our deck. We smoked brisket yesterday, and I made some yummy baked beans and a corn/shi****o pepper salad along with brownies and raspberry bars. Going to get going on the watermelon salad and putting up decorations next. It will be fun if exhausting!

We are 30 miles from the CT/ET line (in the middle of Lake Michigan), so there is still light in the sky at 10:30pm. So fireworks don't really start until 11 here!
What a great idea those carpet tiles are!
Enjoy the fireworks! It's too involved for us to go as the traffic to go to our friend's home where we would park is typically horrific from about 6 pm on even though the fireworks are at 9. Then the traffic after the fireworks is just as bad and we wouldn't get home until 11. So we pass on it.

Happy 4th! Mine started with Kirby throwing up on the living room rug. But they are Flor carpet tiles, so I pulled the two up, washed in the sink and put out on the deck to dry. Can't beat it, other than to have a non-pukey dog.
Yesterday I stripped all the dog-dirty covers off the sectional and washed them, then put them all back on (11 cushions and 3 frame covers). My hands are killing me. I got blanket-like sofa covers in the same whitish cream from Amazon and threw those on. They look pretty good for what they are and he has already anointed them with mouth dirt on the arm and one area of the seat. Where the mouth dirt comes from, I don't know! Looks like mud, but it's not muddy here despite the rain.
We went out to dinner last night and I gained more weight. Dammit. Now 1.8 up from my low in a week. And tonight we are going to a friend's pig roast. I just want to go back to my solitary food bubble. I can't be trusted to eat with others even medicated!
Nothing else planned today. We always have a great view of the private fireworks displays with the way our houses face and the curve of the shoreline. Makes for a solid wall of fireworks for over an hour. Every year I wonder how many fingers will be lost tonight given the giant mortar fireworks can be bought on every corner. Fingers crossed for Kirby. We've had a few practice fireworks around us that he's been getting used to. Tonight is the big test.
Aside from that, no big plans. Hope you all enjoy your day!
Selling two homes in a short period of time is certainly stressful. I have been involved in selling 3 over the last 2 years, but luckily the 2 in Florida didn't involve any decluttering, just moving out some furniture at the end. This house is a different story.
December closing? That gives you a lot of time. I'm hoping for an October closing (after DD's wedding) but people tend to be in a hurry here on Cape Cod so we shall see if that works.
