The house is ready (other than small fixes)! The photographer will come early next week. I can't believe how much we are going to be listing my little cape house for. I hope it sells fast to minimize disruption but also hope I can stay until mid-October after DD's wedding.

I slept well last night but was awake at 4. It is going to be a very long day as we are supposed to meet DH's daughter and son-in-law for dinner an hour away tonight.

Justice has been a crazy man lately, chasing the cat quite a bit which he usually only does on rare occasions. He has also been barking a lot more (DS calls him "Barky Parker"). I have a feeling that all the work in the house has him on edge. But he has also had somewhat abbreviated walks compared to his normal so that may be contributing as well.

So I had to edit when I went back to look at yesterday's post and realized that I started and ended it almost exactly the same way LOL. I am getting old! Also, I wanted to add that my realtor has several dogs including a couple of young goldens they adopted after their older goldens passed on. She feels strongly that most dogs do better with a companion, BUT generally waits about a year or so in between them.

Have a trenchant Tuesday!

It?s great that you?re enjoying the ?moving feels better than not moving? rewards. I forget that regularly, but am also regularly tickled to remember (when I move) that that?s how it works for me, too.

Geez, the number of lessons I have to learn scores, hundreds, and thousands of times is pretty large. I might not be as smart as I used to think I was.

Greetings all

Another sunny day but not quite so hot. Maybe 70. Summer here is so great. What is not so great is that I have 3 welts on one arm that appear to be insect bites though I can't imagine from what. We don't have a lot of mosquitoes here as it's too cool and these don't seem like mosquitoes. Spiders - there are plenty of those. Ick.

Liz it must feel great to have most of the house stuff done. Hope the realtor does not give you more homework. Years ago a realtor told me she tells most clients to get a storage unit, move out half their stuff, and paint everything white. Hope it all gos well.

Yep tragedies have lasting impact. Before DH and I were engaged we went to take a pie to his mother. He had not been able to reach her all day. It was winter. I had a bad feeling so I called police to come by when we had to break in. She was dead on the floor. It was awful but I am glad I was able to be there for him. Life i*****tuated by these events and we all remember what came before and after. We are bonded because we all go through this stuff.

CC another puppy is tempting but if I were you I would wait until Kirby is grown. Think: two teenage dogs in the house at once! Hope the alarm stuff stops. What an aggravation.

Spent some time at the studio today. Got some glazing done. Much more to do. I took some new stuff to the gallery to fill my pathetically empty space. The tourists are out in force.

DH made a costco run this morning after his dentist visit. I asked him to get a roast chicken so that will be dinner. Can't pass up that deal. So DH comes home with his costco load and brings in a cooler that he had in the car and I helped unpack stuff. Inside the cooler I find: the warm roast chicken, some blueberries, and a box of fudgesicles. What is wrong with this picture?

Ann you are right. The more you move the less you hurt. For me it has taken quite a bit of time to get to this point. Used to be I would hurt when walking so I would just sit more. I know better now. The time I hurt the most is standing up after sitting 3 hours playing scrabble. I have a friend who set up her computer on her treadmill so she could play games while walking. Not ready for that but I do watch the tv. Even though I hate exercise I do appreciate its benefits. Too bad food chewing does not really count as exercise. Or an Olympic sport...

Liz, I'm thinking about what you said, that tragedies bring both good and bad. DH's mother literally dropped dead in her living room 2 months after her 60th birthday. The impact on DH was of course, tremendous grief and shock. (My FIL died at 63 3 years later, of what I truly believe was a broken heart.) In the shock of his mother's death, DH basically handed me our life to manage for a period of time. The good that came of it is we navigated through it together. We had been married for 2 years. I do remember thinking this could break us, or make us stronger. Time passed, and I was thankful we emerged from it with a deeper intimacy. The good from the bad.

CC, good grief. That's all I can say. This shouldn't happen, but since it has, it should be fixed by now. And yes, Diet Coke in the purse is a good plan. I tote mine around in a Contigo water bottle, filled with ice. People think I'm so healthy :)

Good luck with your art show Paula! New endeavors!

We went for coffee at our place this morning, and then browsed the thrift store. It's funny when you see your own things that you donated. I'm always on the lookout for metal end tables or other decorative metal items to repurpose in my flower beds. Found something fun today that is now holding a plant.

Out to dinner tonight, then a few quieter days coming up. Weight holding steady.

Weight up a little today. Probably need to have a good poop! Lol! Adding my dried mangos to the menu today to get things a movin'! I know for sure it isn't calorie related but may be salt related from the rotisserie chicken!

All non local kids back to their own places. DC hanging out here today on their day off. DH working 12 hour day shift this week. Doing laundry and maybe will clean the bathrooms today (we have 3 1/2 baths). I'm pretty much ready for my art show this Sunday. I'm going to make CC's enchilada soup tonight for dinner. I love soup but usually don't make it in the summer!

A second puppy! We are happy we have 2 but when they are gone will at most have one and maybe none (depends on how much traveling we do). My dogs are little though. I'm not sure I could do 2 big dogs!

Sorry to hear you are still having alarm issues. Hope it gets resolved soon!

Could be double the trouble OR might give Kirby what he needs to not be so clingy? So tough to predict.

Thats crazy that everything had sugar or alcohol! Though it is somewhat similar to going to our club in Florida where the bartender sometimes puts your usual preferred drink in front of you before you can say jus****er please.

12:45am call from the alarm company. Good times. The most they can shut it down so they don't get alerted is 24 hours (it will still be ringing in the house).

I haven?l't heard from the people who installed it yet. Hopefully a plan can be made today.

****tail party was kind of fun. Next time I'm putting diet coke in my purse. No non-alcoholic diet drinks or water to be seen. That's two parties in a row! I will not be caught off guard and parched again!

Taking Kirby to a well-puppy/leptospirosis shot vet visit in a few minutes. I really like this vet.

Kirby's breeder has 2 male 10 week old puppies still available. They had a 15 puppy litter and a 6 puppy one a week apart! A surprise as the previous litter was one puppy. For a few brief crazy moments I have wondered if Kirby needs a brother?

I should head out. Take care all!

Can't promise this for you, Diane S, but the more I move the less I hurt and the less I move the more I hurt. Apparently, movement literally greases up those arthritic joints.
