Greetings all

Overcast today but nice. I had a fairly long list today but managed to get it done. First a stop at CVS for things i can't get elsewhere. No one was at the checkout so I actually dialed the pharmacy intending to tell them no one was up front. But then someone did finally show up. After that it was gym walking. Still looking for my missing sparkly reading glasses. They had a huge lost and found box of glasses but none were mine. After that i went to the gallery to take new things. Our gallery arranger-in-chief helped me hang stuff and put things out. She really has a gift for display and it shows. Post office and grocery after that and picked up chicken tenders for dinner.

So Peps your legs look awesome! Perfect! So many men of a certain age have those skinny pale stork legs with a pot belly. Not you! Your workouts are so worth it. And yay for the quick eye apt. All for it. Get it done before summer. I had hand surgery the last month of my employment.

Paula religious upbringing is an interesting subject. Seems like it is a good idea to do this with young kids. it is just not something to pick up as an adult. I have a good friend who is an atheist which is in part because of her very religious upbringing. She was raised as a Mennonite and I think it was truly oppressive. Yet she is one of the kindest most honorable people I know. Good to be accepting of kid's religious choices.

Liz ladies golf is for sure the ticket. Not excessively competitive and more about fun. Yay. 18 holes sounds so daunting.

CC that furniture looks spectacular! Architectural Digest material. So glad it is working. And that board meeting was not theatrical.

DD we are all counting your days as well as Peps. T-minus 22 or however they used to do the rocket launches. Retire with no accrued sick days!!

Well time for more eye drops. And laundry. What an exciting life I lead!!

One of friends who is an avid golfer started a beginner's league for lady golfers at her club. She said it was great to golf with the attitude we're just here to have some fun. (Because otherwise, she's pretty competitive). Sounds like your new president wants to bring some of that attitude to your group.

Rainy and cold today, but maybe mid 70s next week! Our calendar is filling up for May, so hopefully that will help the time pass quickly! We have theater tickets to 2 plays and 1 opera (Barber of Seville) A quick trip to Boston for DD's graduation ceremony and party, and at the end of the month, a retirement party for a good friend at a very nice venue. Looking forward to all of it! DH's BFF is flying out to DDs party and my BFF will be there too. There is the family you are born with, and the family you choose. Our chosen family embraces our children as if they are their own. What good fortune!

I 100% agree. I think my "friend" would have a different perspective if she had served on the board or even attended board meetings.

Glad your board meeting was mostly drama free. For volunteer activities like that, that serve the good of a community or group, I think everyone should have to take a turn, so they understand what it really entails.

Oh yes, don't do it on your own time! My favorite sub showed me what days he's still open in May and June, and nobody had booked him for the Friday before Memorial Day. Someone has now. Someone is me :)

We also raised our children in our faith, and they have had all the sacraments, so if they want, they can marry in the Catholic Church etc. But entirely up to them. DD goes to Mass by herself in Boston. DS is more of a Buddhist in his approach to spirituality, and I don't think he would call himself Catholic, although he may tell someone he was raised Catholic. His girlfriend was also raised Catholic. I'm curious to see if they get married and have a family if they will choose the rituals of the Church in these milestones. Like you, whatever any of my kids choose is fine with me. They are good people and lead good lives.

125.4, staying pretty steady!

Bible study went well today. Looking forward to our leader returning so I don't have to be the leader though!

DS3 is coming home tomorrow and sent me a pod cast of a debate between Christians and Atheists on the existence of God. I know he wants to discuss this with me! He is certainly exploring his beliefs (even though he was raised Christian and was baptized by his choice as a preteen). One of his majors is Philosophy so it makes sense that he is a big thinker (just like his Dad). I'm pleased that he is leaning toward Christianity but ultimately everyone's choice is their own!

Productive day yesterday. Board meeting was drama free (except an empty lot owner who got very weird at the end in a way none of us could understand the point of - great, more weird neighbors!). The blind guy (shades, not sight!) came and diagnosed the issue. A bad motor. So there goes $500. It's been ordered. Very unfun money to spend.

But what was fun money to spend was turned out to be my outdoor furniture. I'm in love! It really was what the yard needed and all qualms disappeared as it was put into place. The things I brought from CA were the wrong style and not nearly enough of it. But the delivery men kindly took it to the roof (I tipped them well, they were great) and it looks really good up there. I could hardly lift one end of the metal dining table and one guy carried it over his head up the flight of stairs. Amazing. I need to lift weights. I put pictures on TT. Please come stay with me and try it out!

No plans today. I have a couple of tiny plants to replace some that aren't coming back after winter, so I'll do that, but that covers it. Hope you all have a great day!
