Nothing much new here, except spending lots of money on our house, ugh. A roof repair today and then later a repair to our French doors leading to the backyard. I HOPE they can get it fixed--I had one quote for $15,500 to replace it--my jaw dropped. A second quote for $7500, which still shocked me. In the past, we usually just moved, lol, before we had to do major repairs. This house was new when we bought it in 2009....but time passes. Weight is holding steady. I did gain back about 5 lbs, on purpose, and feel like I'm at a good place right now IF I can continue to maintain.

I'm so sorry Justice is suffering. I hope that it's residual from the anesthesia, and that he starts to feel better soon. I'm glad you're calling the vet...

Liz, good to call the vet. If Justice had molars pulled it would be normal for him to be experiencing a higher level of pain than if the vet pulled a loose incisor. I would hope that Justice was sent home with a "****tail" of Gabapentin and Carprofen. If not, please request. The moaning could be residual from anesthesia. Very common in older dogs for them to moan/whimper coming off anesthesia.

The most concerning to me is the lack of drinking. Sub Q fluids may be in order and would not hurt him in any way. Something you could request.

Thinking good thoughts for your little man.

It's amazing how our food choices impact others. And how nervous servers get when you eat dainty proportions. Although that issue seems less frequent, because they are probably seeing changes in consumption due to the widespread use of semi glutides, unlike when I had surgery 12 years ago.

I do love movie popcorn so much! In different weight loss scenarios I would bring something more "appropriate" to substitute, but one day I thought forget that, I'll just make the popcorn work in my eating plan. And I lived happily ever after. :)

Down 17 pounds and a new NSV for me, my collar bones are becoming visible again! Yay!

Poor Justice. I hope the vet can give him something to make him feel better. All my dogs do is sleep after having cleanings/extractions so Justice not being able to sleep is concerning!

CC, glad your Dad has the meds he needs on board now! My Dad could be stubborn like that as well! We had to fight with him to get him to shower once a week! Glad you enjoyed the Twister movie!

Another hot day here. DH and I have dinner plans with another couple tonight. DH is getting a little frustrated with my lack of wanting to eat. 'You've changed" he says. Kinda like CC mentioned about her parents, DH likes that I'm losing weight but misses his let's go for ice cream friend or let's indulge in this or that friend. Hardly anything sounds good anymore so I'm always turning him down! I do tell him to go ahead and go get ice cream if he wants and I suggest picking up ice cream at the store so he can indulge if he wants. I guess it just isn't as much fun when you don't have a partner in crime! Personally, I'm loving not having those strong urges! First time in my life I can say no and not feel deprived!

Time to make my iced protein coffee and hop in the shower! DC 1 is visiting. Can't afford AC at their place so is resting in the comfort of ours! DS3 will come home for dinner tomorrow night. He only lives 1 1/2 hours away but we see him the least! I will miss the kids when we move! I love hanging with my adult children!

Poor Justice! Do they give them painkillers when they pull teeth? I hope he feels better very soon? And argh on the car. Some people don't know how to reason!

My dad got prescriptions yesterday for antibiotics, cough medicine with codeine, and steroids. So irritating that he could have started all of it nearly a week ago had he consented to go to the doctor then! But the stubbornness is strong with this one...

Yesterday I went to the movies to see Twisters. Mindless entertainment, but sometimes that's the best kind. Not as good at the first Twister, but I still enjoyed it. What can I say, I love a good disaster movie and popcorn.

Nothing else to report on here. The sun is out today which is nice. It's been gray and steamy for a while.

Take care!

Weight 123.2. The same for 3 days in a row which as I recall from former daily weighing doesn't happen that often.

I am very worried about Justice. He has had his teeth cleaned at least 3 prior times and had extractions previously but bounced back really quickly. He had 5 extractions yesterday. He drank a lot of water last night but wouldn't eat. He was miserable last night and is shaking and moaning softly this morning, and won't even drink water. He is absolutely exhausted as he hardly slept from the time I picked him up until this morning which is also unusual. I need to contact the vet as soon as they open this morning.

I was supposed to spend the day with SILs and several other family members today at the beach, then a meal but right now my priority is Justice.

So I don't think I mentioned that my car apparently became home to some mice this winter. I knew they had gotten into the engine compartment because there were seeds. I was having a couple of weird electrical issues which I asked the service people to look into and they found seeds, chewed foam, chewed wires and one dead mouse in various places. I guess that's why it had smelled odd. They have to pull out a bunch of panels to examine all the wires. Luckily I stumbled on the fact that auto insurance comprehensive coverage includes rodent damage so an adjuster is going to look at it Tuesday. Initially I had a catch-22 argument with the claim person who said that no one should have touched the car until the adjuster looked at it. I pointed out that I didn't know there was a mouse problem until the panels had been pulled by the service guys so I couldn't have reported it and furthermore that the adjuster wouldn't be able to see it unless they were open. She finally got it. Yet another thing to worry about though.

I will report back on Justice. Have a fulfilling Friday!
