So hard to see our children be unhealthy. My DS is about 50 pounds overweight which is enough to make him sweat like crazy when he does physical activity like moving. He also needs to quit smoking but even though he is taking 2 medications to help he just can't stop completely. He has cut down, but that makes him eat more.

Long day but fun. Bus (my SUV) left for Door County at 8:40 this morning and we arrived home around 5. Visited a few parks, walked around some of the quaint little towns, did a little shopping, ate lunch out and headed home! It was DC1's request to go but they forgot to take their meds this morning so the busy crowds made them anxious. They did enjoy a rock and gem store that we visited though! Unfortunately, being about 300 lbs. makes it difficult for them to do much walking. The 26 year old kept telling the almost 60 year olds to slow down! Makes me sad for them!
Injection day today. I'm down for daily calories and down on protein today so will try and have one of those Chobani completes soon!
Greetings all
It's a sunny day and I am recovered from yesterday's marathon. It was a lot of walking for little old me. These people are the energizer bunnies and never sit still and eat all the time. We went to the ocean view restaurant last night and the fog had mostly cleared so it was beautiful. It is a great place. Only a small amount of *****ing by my highly opinionated friend.
I went to the studio today and did some glazing. Place was full and busy. Kiln opens tomorrow. Home now and the air show continues with really loud vintage planes. The airport is close and I swear they are buzzing our house on purpose. Oh well, it will be over in an hour.
Lobster roll Liz! I feel a craving coming on. So glad DS is settled and you can return to normal, whatever that might be.
DD it does sound like early fall weather there but we all know that can't be. Enjoy the cool. Sounds like latte weather to me. And congrats on the new little family member. Joy.
Ditto Ann. Nice to be able to be outside. Also the girl meet up. Not much better.
Cripes just got buzzed really low by another one. Not jets. Really loud. Me no like this. Makes me nervous. I am surprised Tesla is not reacting as these are much worse than fireworks.
Just finished a glass of fair life milk and will have steak tonight. Eggs for breakfast. Might get enough protein in for once.

Quick explanation of murdered by capitalism:
I was intrigued and did a search on the story to find out the following (excerpted from the book The Golden Age Is In Us by Alexander ****burn): Schnaubelt's brother had been involved in the Haymarket bombing. E.B. had set up a lumber mill as a workers' co-op but then the big companies cheated him out of the land where the mill stood, though he still owned the plant. One night Schnaubelt, living nearby, thought he heard someone messing with his machinery. He went to investigate and a watchman hired by the companies shot him dead. His widow put up the stone and moved away. Local radicals now toast Schnaubelt on red-letter feast days.

Haha, and I didn't know it was an acronym. For some reason my tablet loves to autocorrect " the "with TBE. I didn't catch the typo! But our new little one definitely is the best ever, joining the other best ever great nieces and nephews. They are so special to us.
TBE - the perfect example of an acronym that frustrates me! First off, I had to look it up. Second, the first definition for the acronym is THICK BETWEEN THE EARS. Only when you read on do you find that it also can mean THE BEST EVER.
Just had to comment on that. LOL!
Congrats on the arrival of your newest family member! What a wonderful cause for celebration!
Good morning! 75 in Missouri in August? Last year when we visited DHs cousins in Neosho, it was 102 at one point! It's been autumnal here also.
Liz, another transition, but there will also be things you will about your enjoy your empty nest, and maybe a more relaxing couple of months after all the prep work you've done for these months. Is Justice also having to adjust? He's lived with your DS a good amount of time.
Much later start today then intended. Our niece started labor Friday night, and didn't deliver her daughter until the wee hours of this morning. Very restless night, kept checking the phone. So relived when the baby arrived. The strength of women. I don't know how she kept going after 27 hours. Now we celebrate her incredible determination, and TBE arrival of our beautiful great niece.
Time to get on our way to my parents house!
Strolling around your property must be lovely.
Yes, Portland seems to be a great place and I hope DS thrives there.

Happy day of rest to all. It's pretty cool down here, although August here is very often cooler than you'd expect. We took a lovely walk around the property in mid-afternoon in 75 degree temps.
Had dinner last night with longtime girlfriends. Great conversation, food, and mood. ?
Speaking of bacon, yesterday morning I fried up a pound of applewood smoked bacon and paired it with sunny-side-up eggs, whole wheat English muffins, and peach marmalade. It was awesome!
The last few years I've pretty much stopped eating lunch. I don't miss it much. I'm most interested in my calories delivering delicious bites, and all I can usually think of for lunch these days is leftovers, which aren't very appealing compared to bacon and my fiancé's dinner menus. ?
Congrats, Liz, on your son's lovely relocation. His digs in Portland sound perfect. And Portland is IMO one of the country's best towns. The views, seafood, and weather up there would check most of my boxes.
