Remember back in the good old days of airplane travel when you could bring a suit bag on the plane and they would hook it in their special closet? I did that all through the 80s. For extra fun I'd throw a couple pairs of shoes in the bottom of the bag so I didn't need to make room in my suitcase. You could bring as much as you could physically carry onto the plane! I can't tell you how many pounds of clothes I brought to Greece for a 3 week trip when I was 22. I'm much more discerning now.

After a very rough first 30 hours post-neuter, we have turned a massive corner. He's drinking water, stopped crying and moaning, isn't restless and finally peed. Yay Kirby! Taking his pills like a champ and is good about the cone of shame. The donut of doom doesn't work for his long body. He can maneuver around it to his nether regions. I think a body suit would equally be unhelpful as he would simply nibble through it. we both slept very well after no sleep the night before.

So today I might shower and get out of these pajamas. And tidy up the mayhem of the last few days in here.

Enjoy your Sunday all!

Ooh, open house! But did it have the nice bathroom you put in or the dog proof fence? Don't want to have to do those things again...

Awesome your packing worked so well Liz! I'm always in a battle between cramming my suitcase and wanting to travel in a more organized, better curated way.

Anne also well done getting your power washing done and safely too. Our neighbor is an OT at a long term care facility. She is always so concerned when DH is on the roof. One time she came out and asked him if I was home. He said yes, and she said good, I'll let her call 911 when you fall off. Imagine if she saw what you were up to.

Yesterday was also an awesome do what I feel like doing day. Coffee in the morning, newspaper, more flower planting, corn dogs for dinner (a store near us had food trucks in the parking lot) , finishing Only Murders in the Building... This 4 day reprieve before I finish the 3 week sprint to retirement is very restorative.

To my list of things I will be happy to leave behind such as packing lunch, waiting to use the restroom, getting up around 6am, add lying in bed fretting about what I need to do the next day at work which leads to anxiety spiral that I'm not going to get enough sleep. Being a natural night owl who finds it difficult to fall asleep before 10:30pm, I am constantly anxious about sleep. Even on the weekend sometimes. If something wakes me up at 7am on a Saturday, I worry I won't make up my sleep deficit, which I pretty much need to do every weekend. I realize during retirement there will be worries that will keep me awake some nights, and plenty of tasks that grown ups have to deal with that are not on the want to do list. But not needing to be asleep until midnight and being able to sleep until 8am feels so freeing. Stephen Colbert every night :)

I'm sore from the lifting, pulling and squatting of yardwork. It feels good to move my body, and admire my little bedding plants. Pacing myself, I have some to plant today, and then tomorrow. Then I can buy some more! Grow little flowers, grow!!!

Thanks for the suggestion! It is in a suit bag right now which is too heavy to use. We should have dry cleaner bags around.

Yay for your sales, and Wowzah about your food choices. They sound delicious.

125.6lbs.

Nobody fell off the roof, and the second floor walls, windows, gutters, and trim look great!

Today we do more power washing of same, but all on solid ground.

Yesterday I spray painted a big plastic planter saucer to match the planter it will go under. Big confession: I have never ever ever painted anything! I am so not that kind of person. I now feel like I might have the courage to buy a (blush!) glue gun.

Quick response.about packing pressed clothes without wrinkling them. If you don't rknow this (although you probably do) hang his jacket on the cleaners' hanger and cover it in the dry cleaning film. Likewise hang the pants on a separate hanger covered by the dry cleaners' plastic. Fold once in the suitcase. It worked for me for decades of airline experience work travel when everyone wore suits every day.

Happy long weekend to everyone.

119.2 and DH was 190.6 yesterday. He is under his initial goal of 191. He has done really well but still has those cravings he has to manage. The biggest plus for me on the meds is eliminating that aspect for the most part.

I packed all the clothes, etc. into my suitcases yesterday and they fit! No having to pare down. In the afternoon we shared peel and eat shrimp and oysters for lunch then listened to the Electric Frogs playing Rolling Stones and other music from that era. By the time we got home and walked the dog we were too tired to change and go out so had pizza for dinner.

Today I have to help DH get his new suit into his suitcase with as little wrinkling as possible. After the usual Sunday breakfast we must do several loads of laundry, clean the house, remake beds and bring some of the stuff in from the lanai into the house. Luckily with the glass enclosure around the lanai we don't have to bring everything in. We also need to remove everything from the counters and walls in the bathrooms since we will be having work done in them while we are gone.

We leave the house at 6 pm and should get to the other home by 1 am. Luckily there is no pressure to do anything on the other end and it looks like decent weather there tomorrow after a very cold, rainy week.

Sad to be leaving - I think we might come down the first week in August though. Maybe I will stay here between that visit and the bachelorette party since it will only be a few days apart. Food for thought.

Have a somnolent Sunday!

When I go up the 32 stairs (yes I count them) to the condo several times a day, I really think a lot about that if I am carrying my yoga bag or groceries. And my small carryon probably weighs less than the weight I lost last year but I need to wheel it vs carry it.
