I woke up early and read all the posts since pre-Labor Day to catch up with everyone. You all sound pretty good to me. The knowledge and wisdom in this group is impressive and appreciated. Thanks to everyone for sharing.
I am in the mood this morning to stabilize my maintenance eating. I weighed and was lower (127) than I expected and about where I want to be now. Like most of us I am struggling to get enough protein. One thing I remembered this morning is that nuts (which used to be verboten because they are so high calorie) actually have protein. They also satisfy my appetite and quieten the food noise. Paula, I thought about your struggles to get in more protein and calories, so nuts may or may NOT be useful to you. As we say constantly, what works for each of us can be quite specific and peculiar compared to what works for others.
Lately I've been using more of the tools I learned decades ago like smaller bites, chewing longer, smaller plates, smaller forks, no liquids for half an hour after meals, etc. Those behaviors just make me feel comfy and calm.
And back in the real world, I have tons of first-day-back and Monday errands. Wishing everyone a productive day. Mine will not be a marathon Monday, but it will be at least a 5K Monday.

I think DH had a good birthday yesterday. Last night we had a drink at the rooftop bar of one resort on the water and dinner at another one down the street. Beautiful views. I could only eat half of my small plate after having 1/4 of DH's salad but I enjoyed all of it. And I finally slept really well. Maybe being done with the picture sorting settled my mind?
Today will be busy doing laundry, cleaning, and packing up at DH's house. We have to make a dump run where the excess pictures that are here get disposed of (the remainder at my house will go out in the trash tomorrow morning). We drop Justice off at his caretaker's home late afternoon because we are going to Block Island tomorrow morning. This is DH's birthday trip originally set for last year but rescheduled due to extreme shoulder issues.
First a Justice walk is needed! Have a marathon Monday!

I had something like 8 boxes of super heavy loose photos, which I had moved twice previously (more the second time obviously). It was time to reduce the volume but I also embarked on it to find some good pictures of DD with her deceased father and sister to put together for her wedding.

Paula, I love your Stephen Ministry stories. Thanks for sharing them. I can't think of a better thing to do for someone than to be present, really see/hear them, listen attentively, and then not offer any advice or opinions about their values, decisions, and actions, but just be there for them.

Lizanne, this is the club no one wanted to be in. The only positive is that everyone in the club understands what you're going through and wants to support you, however you need to be supported. Big hugs.

Greetings all
It's sunny after a foggy start. DH is out shopping somewhere so who knows what will come home.
Last night was great. Our football team won big over its arch rival (sorry CC) and the fans were over the top. Studio buddy came over and actually only griped for a little while. The chili turned out great and there is plenty more for tonight. So win win all around. I regard it as a sign of aging that I care about college football but so be it.
DD was that the pagan festival with the tarot readings? Sounds pretty tame. Once I did a fair palm reader but cannot remember what was said.
Liz sounds like you and DH are having a perfect day. Especially the fuzzy blanket and Justice. Enjoy the evening.
Paula let us know when you find a good breakfast protein. There are some low carb breakfast sandwiches that I tried once. Way too salty but there might be some other brands. I have a little kitchen gadget that makes egg bites but more trouble than worth. Actually you can buy the egg bites ready made I think.
Picture sorting is on my list too. Way at the bottom. I have a box that was shipped to me of my mom's stuff since we had no time to go through it when she died. Sat at SIL for awhile and she tossed old slides with was fine with me. So there sits the box. I know it should go to one of those services that sorts and digitizes it but not today.
Hey Ann keep us posted on your travels. Major road tripping!
Gallery duty tomorrow afternoon. Also kiln opening. If I get going early enough I can pick up new stuff for the gallery. All the travel takes awhile.
Time to do the treadmill. Boring but effective. Diane S
The dress actually has a built-in bra - I'm just a bit saggy/small for it. So I need to make sure they don't slip down. It doesn't look too big, but I just feel like that could happen (especially since it did in my bathing suit the other day - not a good look). The other option is having the dress taken in a bit but I don't think I have the time for that now (less than 3 weeks). I'm going to experiment with some options and have something saved on Amazon just in case none of the things I have will work.
