Consistency in exercise is the most important thing. Just keep walking on that treadmill!

Yes, there is something to DH liking baggy clothes (though even he admits it has gone too far in some now, hence having to buy a few things). There is also the fact that he just hates spending money on clothing. Thinks everything should last forever LOL.

With the heat you are going to have this weekend you will have to act like people do in Florida in the summer. All outdoor activities in the early morning or late evening and stay in AC the rest of the day.

Sounds you had a very full Thursday! I hope you don't burn yourself out in early retirement LOL.

I agree on the clothes shopping. Always fun for me to have something new but especially if I know it will fit well and I will look slimmer. DH has had to be forced to dump some old tee shirts that he bought from Tommy Bahama that looked like pregnancy shirts even when they fit him better (they kind of belled out at the bottom). Now that he is slimmer they really look terrible. But he hates tossing/donating them because they cost a lot (more than I would have payed for a tee shirt to tell the truth).

Greetings all

Mixed sun and shade here but lovely overall. Kind of warm so I T shirt came out. I did not find any new ones this time. This one is from a dog show in 2001 and is too big.

Well Liz, maybe your DH likes wearing baggy clothes because they make him feel thin! But yeah, some guys just do not want to buy clothes; my DH is one of those also. NWT jeans is a momentous thing! Enjoy Provincetown.

And DD you are rocking your retirement so far. But I can't believe you are going to the gym AFTER you did all that heavy yard work. Years ago we took up a bunch of sod for flower beds and piled it all up and added rocks and flower. It made this hill that we call Alcatraz. It has slowly sunken down. Maybe you hill could be a rock garden? Enjoy dinner out. Concert sounds great.

So I went to the gym after a few days absence. I am up to 23 minutes which is not much but far better than where I started. Burned 67 calories. After that it was studio time to make more trinkets.

Paula you are becoming Jane Fonda! Work out woman! You look buff and slim. Yay!

Not sure what is for dinner tonight. Maybe hamburgers.

I have been thinking about when I was at my lowest weight = 117- and how I loved being that thin. I am far from that now and really would feel better if I got some flab off. Maybe getting closer to doing something.

Cheers all. I will try to post a picture of another rose - the little rose bush that could. Diane S

123.9, staying pretty consistent! The extra 1/2 mg helped I think!

Beautiful day here in WI. Started out with thunderstorms this morning which made DH miss his planned golf outing but the rest of the day has been partly sunny and warm. The next 2 days will be hot, hot, hot. Temps in the mid 90's with a heat index in low 100's. If outside exercise is done, it will have to be early morning. Today I did my Jane Fonda step routine, lifted some weights (arms) and then DH went on a 30 minute walk!

Tonight will be wood grilled pizza! I've been craving it! Calories are low so far today so no harm in pizza! Yay!

Liz, DH is so close to his goal! Crazy man for not wanting to get new, smaller clothes! No comprende!

DD, I'm glad you get to see your friend and give her a hug! Cancer sucks big time! Continue to relish your extra free time sipping tea and catching up on your reading!

So funny the different reactions people have to clothes shopping. I love buying smaller clothes :)

I've only been to Provincetown once for a 3 day visit, but I thought the vibe was really cool. Friendly, the opposite of stressful. Even the traffic back ups seem to have a kinder attitude.

Yesterday was amazing. We didn't work out, but dedicated ourselves to heavy yard work. The last 3 summers we've traveled so much that the backyard was neglected. We have a hill in the back that we just let go wild, and generally I really like it. Its really too steep and shady to do much else. It attracts so many birds, and of course my arch enemies, the squirrels. But it is out of control, so I attacked it with clippers, and DH actually had to chain saw a few things. It looks a mess with brush piles everywhere right now, sort of like that stage in the house when you start to declutter, but haven't put things back together yet. So this weekend I'll spend some time breaking down the brush so I can bag it.

Besides feeling muscle tired and a sense of accomplishment, we went to the best concert last night. Perfect weather, perfect sightlines, perfect shady park, incredible performances. The headliners are a trio that are kind of Minneapolis Musical Royalty. One of the members had a stroke in February, but is pretty well recovered. He can sing, but not play his bass, and has less stamina. So they asked other artists to join them. An entire show with some of the best musicians in the Twin Cities. It was the kind of concert you dream of during a long, cold winter. It totally filled up the part of my soul that hungers for live music.

Today more soul filling, I drank tea and read the paper on the porch. I'm now dressed to go work out. If it doesn't cloud over, we are going to the beach when I get back. I'm still having dinner with the college roomies. It will feel good to hug my friend whose husband got the terrible cancer diagnosis, and support her any way we can. I think tonight's support will be listening. Tomorrow a baby shower, where I will meet one of my little grand nieces who is finally visiting from California.

119.8 - I hate that my official weekly weighing day (Friday) is often my heaviest day of the week. But I did eat half of a bar pizza last night. Oh, and 1/3 of an amazing lobster reuben sandwich at lunch. Both fully worth it!

I mentioned to Diane S that my DH is grumbling about having to buy clothes with his weight loss. He had to buy new jeans yesterday and they were a 36 waist which he says he hasn't worn since college. He also had to buy a new belt and had to step down 2 sizes in that. In the meantime he has been suffering from sciatica since he went deep sea fishing in Aruba. He finally called his doctor and got prescriptions including steroids to help the healing. They did the trick last time. Last time it happened he had an MRI and saw a back specialist who said that it was the breakdown of discs in his lower back causing it (old age) and the best thing to do was to prevent it by doing stretching exercises and core strengthening. So maybe he will finally add them. His typical routine is an hour going really hard on an elliptical, then weights for his arms and chest. Nothing for his back.

Today we are likely going to the beach for a little while near Provincetown, then to lunch and a particular shop that has nice linen shirts. The beaches out there are extremely beautiful and the place we like to eat at is open air with a beautiful view of the water. DS told me it is where all the gay couples hang out and I just chuckled because I already knew that. Everyone is usually super friendly and you meet lots of nice people.

The temperatures are supposed to be close to 80 today and through the weekend for the first weekend feeling like summer. The backup at the bridge to get onto Cape Cod last night was 5 miles long! That used to happen only on Fridays but now Thursday is the new Friday I guess..

Have a fun-filled Friday!
