127.7. Holding steady in about a 1lb. range.

Lead Bible study this morning, came home and ate lunch and cleaned a bit and then it was nap time! I hardly slept at all last night! First it was my mind not shutting off (no reason, not really stressing over anything) and then a text from DS3 about poor mental health and helping him navigate if he needed to go to the ER or not. I told him to go! He wasn't admitted which is a good thing but needs to follow up with his psychiatrist soon. A medication change is probably in order.

DSD and fiancé roll in tonight around 7 I guess. We are having Costco chicken street tacos for dinner! Something easy for them to warm up whenever they get here.

Tomorrow they will go to Milwaukee to apartment hunt for their transition year before moving to Nebraska for his residency. She will start a doctor of NP program at the same time. I will spend the day prepping for the shower on Saturday! Will need to figure out an easy dinner for all of us for Friday. A good 'ol Wisconsin fish fry sounds good to me but DSD doesn't do fish!

Saturday will be the shower at 11:00 and then DH and I have dinner out and a concert with friends. The concert is a candle lit venue and will have instrumental Queen music performed by an Orchestra. Should be fun!

I rolled on I to school a bit later than normal (20 whole minutes, but they felt glorious) with time to spare for my first training at 8am. Then big luxury, 7 of us went out for lunch. Our lunch break is 20 minutes, with 5 minutes passing time on either end, so no leaving the building to socialize.

I had some shrimp at a Mexican restaurant with beans and rice. It felt good to have a meal (with leftovers of course). DH and I, both with pharmaceutical appetite suppression often snack instead of eating meals. I think it's less satisfying mentally, but also, it feels physically depleting sometimes. If I have meals, I will have a better mix of proteins, veggies etc. Snacking dinner turns into things like peanut butter toast, and a handful of crackers later.

Even with lunch out, I got a decent amount of work completed and I am moving into 4th quarter well positioned. I put a countdown calendar in the corner of my whiteboard. When I get back on April 7, I counted 70 calendar days until June 13.

Work again tomorrow, then Saturday to pack , and we leave for Memphis on Sunday. To prepare, DH and I are going for pedicures this afternoon. :)

Yes, yesterday was wild! But by the middle of the day , school was emptying out as folks got a jump start on their vacations. I swear, half the school was on it's way to Arizona to visit grandparents. If you're a Minnesota snow bird, you're most likely to be in Southern Florida or Arizona.

Great news about DD, Liz! Fingers crossed for happy news when she sees her doctors. I know too many women for whom the IUD has caused severe issues. I'm sorry your DD was yet another!

I spent all afternoon and evening at the ER with my pops. He had debilitating pain across his lower abdomen and the assisted living folks called 911. By the time I arrived at the ER his pain was gone and they were running tests. He had blood work, urinalysis, more blood work, gallbladder ultrasounds, and CT Scan for liver and kidney. Nothing was conclusive. But now we know he has gallstones, but not causing problems because he was fine during palpation and exam in that area and there was no deferred pain during exam. He also has significantly raised liver enzyme numbers, which will require monitoring. Thought the doctor said, "Monitoring is really optional at his age with his memory issues." I got home just after 9:30 pm.

I'm glad to see my weight holding under that 210 mark. I was thinking about returning my new 32" elastic waist workout/casual shorts, but maybe now I will hang on to them. I should be able to fit in them more comfortably in another 10 pounds. Once the entire 20 is gone, I'm sure they will be fine.

Jealous of Diamond D having teacher work days today and tomorrow. Pre Spring Break behavior is on in full force!!!

Thriving Thursday....

LONG day yesterday. DD's surgery was delayed by 4 hours so we were at the hospital from 10:30 to 6:30. But all went smoothly - more so than expected. I think we were afraid they would find some terrible fibroid that required a hysterectomy because of all the hemorrhaging but there wasn't much. No fibroid at all. They did remove tissue and it will be examined but the thoughts are that the IUD, which was missing, had run out of hormones and her body was trying to expel it (which it apparently did). Though the last blood test showed a hint of another possible hormone related cause for all the difficulties. When she sees her doctor next week hopefully she will get next steps. Thank goodness she has good doctors now.

So it was late and I was very tired getting back to the hotel. I had soup for dinner but chose a pastry while picking up the soup. Not a good idea. I didn't need it but ate it anyway and my insides were unhappy for a while. Lesson learned (I hope).

Today I may get out of my room somewhat early for a walk as my room wasn't cleaned yesterday because I left late. Not happy about that. Lunch with DD probably. I may go visit SIL this afternoon and come back mid-day tomorrow but need to mull that over. I think DD is going to feel pretty much back to normal today after a good night's sleep.

Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Hot tub on a cool day! Yes! (I don't like them when it is warm outside but definitely when it is not)
