120 - official weight for the week.

The house is clean - DH was amazed at how dirty the tile floors were - that's what happens when you stretch out the time between cleaning. We are having the carpet in our bedroom/closet cleaned next week.

Golf was fun - no pressure when you play in the format we had yesterday (scramble). Beautiful day and the ladies were great. We came in 4th so I have $27.50 in Pro Shop credit that I have to spend before May 15. They have really nice clothing at good prices.

The golf meeting afterwards was good. The new president has some great ideas including having 2 of the association days be Nine and Wine days, where we would play our 9 holes in the afternoon then have heavy appetizers and ****tails afterwards vs. playing in the morning and then having lunch. Also making it easier for new women to try out playing by incorporating a game into the free ladies golf clinic where they would ride with an existing member and play a scramble like we did yesterday. When someone joins they will also be assigned a mentor to introduce them around, teach them the ropes, get them a nametag, etc. None of that happened when I joined so it was a bit of a hurdle. Luckily a former president signed me up then one of the first women I played with took on a mentor role for that day at least.

Today we are having lunch with our neighbors below who are leaving for their summer place in a few days. They are a sweet older couple for whom it is getting harder and harder to come here but they can't tolerate the cold up north. Speaking of neighbors, the people directly next door had one heck of a loud party last night from late afternoon until around 10 or so. I bet the couple we have lunch with will have some comments about it.

Speaking of parties, CC could have a great one out on that patio!

DSD arrives at 4:30 this afternoon for 5 days. I have an itinerary drawn up per DH's request - I tend to be more freeform about visit time.

Have a fun Friday! One more week down for our soon to be retired folks!

I'm glad you had a good time with your friends. Does the new home truly feel like home now? I ask because the Cape house I sold in the fall was home to me and it has taken a while to replace it in my mind with this home. DH's cape house will never feel that way to me.

125.0, at the very bottom of my range!

Cloudy, yucky day here. I'm so ready for sunshine!

Treadmill workout done. Need to shower and start dinner prep (meatballs with mushroom gravy). This is DS3's favorite and he requested it since he is coming home! DC1 will come over for dinner too!

DH only has 2 more weeks before retirement! I think he is a little nervous!

Liz, the scramble sounds fun and it seems the golf association is doing a lot to make membership more attractive to newbies!

Yay for DH's retirement! Not too far from when Peps and DD retire.

206.5 UGH... Up down Up down.... But I did have a carb/sugar heavy day yesterday and that usually leads to fluid retention/bloating/inflammation... I need to get real if I truly want to be under 200 pounds before my trip on June 8.

Feeling kind of excited about the cataract surgery. Unlike Diane S., I will not be having to do drops all the time. My doc injects a mega antibiotic directly into the eyeball so her patients don't have to do the eye drop routine. That's what she did with my first lens replacement. It was great. The bummer is that I won't be able to workout for a while afterwards. I think something like 10 days. That's gonna suck! Oh, well... worth it though.

I am feeling guilty about missing school next week because we have music assemblies at each school at which my 1st and 2nd graders will perform. But not guilty enough to postpone surgery. LOL! I'm so ready to be done with this blurry vision!

Dog shows this weekend. Close enough that I am able to drive back and forth each day. Much easier to manage.

Shot day yesterday.... Lord, let it kick in! Because, you know, sometimes it's nice to have a little extra sumpthin', sumpthin' in your corner!

Visited Dad yesterday. Super off day. Steeped in delusional thinking (needs to move, electricity is being turned off, locks have been changed, his key was stolen, was amazed that I can have a new lens put in my eye - he's had both his eyes done , told me about falling out of bed on May 23rd during the earthquake, which has rendered his apartment inhabitable, and on and on....YIKES)

Did get all my chores done yesterday. That was a good thing.

24 more work days less at least 1 for surgery. Probably 2... so maybe only 22.... OMG! Whoooo hoooooo!

That's pretty cool that you won't need so many drops. When my mother had it about 20 years ago she had that drop routine.

I love the ideas your new golf president has presented. It's all about the comradery, which will make it more welcoming. Mentoring is great too. It seems like there is a lot to golf culture in addition to the actual playing that would be good to know.

Our discussion about retirement parties must have released something into the universe because one of my work bffs approached me today about a department send off and had a few dates and a restaurant in mind. Sweet :) So June 4th, after school.

No plans this weekend, except Sunday evening. We have tickets to a play. It's a new play, and its getting great reviews. I'm trying not to read too much so that I can be surprised/delighted by something novel.

Your co-workers idea of going to a restaurant with your immediate group sounds like what I did with the people in my department. Much better than a big official send-off. After I left I didn't miss the work but I did miss the people.

I'm sure the coffee shop is also in the weekend plans?

Greetings all

Mixed cloudy day here but that is pretty common. Ok by me as I hate sticky hot weather. DH went to the Romeo lunch in Ferndale which is 35 miles away. No clue why they did that but we now have most of a pizza here. Ok by me as I had tv control for two hours. I did my walking at the gym (Purple Rain) and then went to the studio. I am out of wine stoppers at the gallery so forced myself to make 6. kiln fire day so the place is bustling.

Lots of interesting thoughts on TT for Becca and Bonnie. Much wisdom. When we were kids there was almost nothing known about obesity. Women had those reducing machines!!Wonder Bread was advertised as being good for you. I thought tv dinners were good. What a world.

So Paula your DH is on the retirement bandwagon too! Welcome aboard! Yum meatballs and mushroom gravy. And i bet you make them!

Guest itenerary Liz!. That is work! So is golf but the fun kind. You are lucky to have a group that is committed to making it fun and welcoming. New clubs still good?

DD that send off party sounds better than the other ceremony. My law firm office had a party for me with some gag gifts as well as a nice one. Enjoy the event.

Peps no eye drops? Who knew. Good luck with it all. Sorry your dad is more confused. At least he is expressing what he is feeling. Where are the shows?

Not much else. The dogs have managed to track dirt all over the freshly mopped floor. Story of my life.
