Definitely a deep thinker - very impressive in someone that young.

One of friends who is an avid golfer started a beginner's league for lady golfers at her club. She said it was great to golf with the attitude we're just here to have some fun. (Because otherwise, she's pretty competitive). Sounds like your new president wants to bring some of that attitude to your group.
Rainy and cold today, but maybe mid 70s next week! Our calendar is filling up for May, so hopefully that will help the time pass quickly! We have theater tickets to 2 plays and 1 opera (Barber of Seville) A quick trip to Boston for DD's graduation ceremony and party, and at the end of the month, a retirement party for a good friend at a very nice venue. Looking forward to all of it! DH's BFF is flying out to DDs party and my BFF will be there too. There is the family you are born with, and the family you choose. Our chosen family embraces our children as if they are their own. What good fortune!
You are going to be very busy! Your retirement will be here before you know it!
I was thinking about your comments about a work retirement party and my feelings about it. I don't regret not having the big thing at work but there was really no celebration at all with family or friends which in retrospect would have been nice. DH's kids had a mini-celebration dinner with him. I guess with deceased DH fully into dementia and me deciding to leave for Florida the week after I left work made it difficult but no one even asked.

DH did ask earlier if I would like a party. I don't think I do. Maybe we could do a small dinner or something with some close friends.
When you retired, you were full into your caretaker mode. It's a sad fact that caretakers often get overlooked and everyone is focused on what's happening with the person who needs the care. Not fair though.
Something small with friends sounds really nice.

Greetings all
Overcast today but nice. I had a fairly long list today but managed to get it done. First a stop at CVS for things i can't get elsewhere. No one was at the checkout so I actually dialed the pharmacy intending to tell them no one was up front. But then someone did finally show up. After that it was gym walking. Still looking for my missing sparkly reading glasses. They had a huge lost and found box of glasses but none were mine. After that i went to the gallery to take new things. Our gallery arranger-in-chief helped me hang stuff and put things out. She really has a gift for display and it shows. Post office and grocery after that and picked up chicken tenders for dinner.
So Peps your legs look awesome! Perfect! So many men of a certain age have those skinny pale stork legs with a pot belly. Not you! Your workouts are so worth it. And yay for the quick eye apt. All for it. Get it done before summer. I had hand surgery the last month of my employment.
Paula religious upbringing is an interesting subject. Seems like it is a good idea to do this with young kids. it is just not something to pick up as an adult. I have a good friend who is an atheist which is in part because of her very religious upbringing. She was raised as a Mennonite and I think it was truly oppressive. Yet she is one of the kindest most honorable people I know. Good to be accepting of kid's religious choices.
Liz ladies golf is for sure the ticket. Not excessively competitive and more about fun. Yay. 18 holes sounds so daunting.
CC that furniture looks spectacular! Architectural Digest material. So glad it is working. And that board meeting was not theatrical.
DD we are all counting your days as well as Peps. T-minus 22 or however they used to do the rocket launches. Retire with no accrued sick days!!
Well time for more eye drops. And laundry. What an exciting life I lead!!

With all the choices, I bet at least one pair of the glasses at the gym?s lost and found would work with your prescription. I?ll never forget DS2 coming home from Elementary school one day with a different coat. He thought the lost and found was a free for all and he could take whatever he pleased! lol!
Reading glasses are like socks - they just disappear into thin air. Best to buy in bulk

I buy cheapy readers from Amazon, 5 in a pack for $13. They mostly live on the top of my head so A) I know where they are and B) I hate hair touching my face, so they double as a headband. I was picking something up yesterday and bent over really fast, but unfortunately, I was too close to the wall and the glasses on the top of my head hit the wall and broke. I just went to the drawer and grabbed another pair!
