The "Love the Pearls" luncheon was a presentation about pearls (kinds, colors, etc), how to take care of them - essentially everything about them. Everyone received a nice pair of Pearl studs and there were drawings for 5-6 pieces of other quality jewelry. Then of course the opportunity to purchase some, which I did using my upcoming birthday as an excuse. They had all different price points. Here is a link to their site explaining what they do: https://lovethepearls.com/
DD got home okay then met with her doctor (at the doctor's request) to discuss the upcoming biopsy. The doctor spent a lot of time going over DD's medical history because she is baffled by what is happening. Lots of questions. She also had a good discussion with DD about DD and her husband's feelings about children (not wanting any). The last time they somewhat touched on this was before DD was married. In light of what is going on this could be relevant for her to understand. DD felt good about the discussion and the biopsy is going to happen on Thursday.
Two days before we leave for our 11 day trip to BVI. Time to get serious about packing! It is supposed to be sunny with that darn cool north wind again today so a good day to do that. That wind has been a real pain this year.
Tonight we are going to a production of Singing in the Rain which everyone says is wonderful. Leftovers before that because we are only here one more night.
Time to walk Justice first. Have a topical Tuesday!

What a fun luncheon Liz! I would love to attend events like that!
Glad that DD got home safely, even more pleased that the biopsy is set and it seems like her doctor listened this time regarding her choice of not wanting children in the future. Praying all goes well with the biopsy and solutions are found!
128.8 today, still nicely maintaining. My calories have maybe only gone up by 100. Still around 1,000 per day which seems so low but at least I'm not hungry at that amount with the 2 mg on board. My metabolism must be almost nonexistent!
Already dressed for the treadmill workout which I will do when I am done posting here. I hope to do the harder DVD workout tomorrow since I know Thursday will be a rest day and I can recover as needed.
Loaded baked potatoes for dinner (thanks DD). Need to make a Costco run and probably a small grocery run too.
DH and I poured over retirement finances last night and while things look good, it looks like we will need to draw about 3K from retirement accounts monthly to make ends meet until Social Security kicks in (2 years if we take it early). It all seems scary right now (fear of the unknown) but in the end I think all will be just fine!
The treadmill calls.........TTYL
Somehow it all seems to work out in retirement.
I have to do those loaded potatoes for dinner after we get back from vacation!

128.2 lbs.
Liz, I'm glad DD and her doctor have been able to advance the ball about what's going on with her body and her life choices. I'm glad she's finally been able to schedule the biopsy.
Have a wonderful time in BVI. Oddly, given my world travel resume, I've never been to either BVI or AVI (that I remember). Or the Caymans. Or Hawaii, which is most surprising. Maybe I'll make it there one day. But I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.
BTW, very best wishes to your husband in his weight-losing campaign. We can all relate to his desire and efforts and hope that he will be rewarded.
Today's weather here is gorgeous, as the next several days will be. I've got the grand dog this morning, and we enjoyed a jaunt around the neighborhood. He's still getting accustomed to the new dog smells around here. He's such a sweet dog. Grand dogs are the perfect kind of pet for me. :)

211.something.... An hour workout and right back up....
On Sunday I did a few little things in the afternoon. I got the dog van vacuumed and set up the futon behind the passenger seats. I also got the reflective insulation panels cut and hung in the rear side windows. After that I worked on Buster for an hour or so. Even though my day was leisurely, I felt productive enough and ended the weekend feeling rested.
But then.....Yesterday, the time change kicked my butt! I had to drag my azz out of bed while it was still dark. The sun wasn't even up over the hills to the east before I left for school. YUCK! I was tired and draggy yesterday. Today I woke up before my alarm, so maybe the transition is now complete.
For entertainment these days I am watching Dexter. I have never had Showtime, so I have no****ched any of the long running show before. I'm loving it. I have two more episodes to watch to complete season 1.
This morning I met a new substitute teacher who is a transplant from Minnesota. She was a third grade teacher in twin cities area. She grew up in a town called Eagen. She is young and vibrant and drips of Minnesota nice (but not at all sicky sweet - just real!). I hope she is able to land a job with our district. I got such a good feeling about her! I even wrote a quick note to our HR admin to put the sub on the HR radar.
Liz, it almost seems too soon for your annual trek to the Caribbean. Are you going to BVI instead of Aruba this year or in addition to?
Not much else from my corner of the world...
The BVI trip is in addition to Aruba.
Yep, that time change stinks!
I loved the early seasons of Dexter (strange to say love about a show with a serial killer), but I didn't like it so much in the later seasons (didn't fini****).

Greetings all
Back from Scrabble where I won two but barely. The Shark killed me. So it goes. Back home because I have to work on those tax returns in the day time. Can't see well enough at night. Plus not inclined. I am tempted to take a nap but must soldier on with a pencil and calculator.
Liz so glad your DD has the biopsy scheduled. Hoping good things can be learned. Glad the doctor is listening. Pearl lunch sounds fun.
Have fun with your grand dog Ann. Want to borrow mine? Last night they tracked in mud all over the house including inside the shower.
Peps it is so uncivilized to have to head for work in the dark. Yucky indeed. But not too many more days of it. Thanks for mentioning Dexter. Something new for us to watch even if it is creepy.
The eaglets continue to be a hoot. Big Bear Eagle Camera. Their parents stuff them like little turkeys! The eaglets poke at each other like siblings and the scientific term is "bonking".
Dinner is uncertain. Maybe ham and eggs.
Diane S
I guess that is why he is called the Shark!
Tax returns are no fun - it's worth it to pay my financial advisor do ours (especially for last year when we sold 2 homes).
