120.2 - I think steak raises my weight a bit as the last time I went up this much in a night was also after steak.

I had my hair highlighted (and slightly low lighted in a few places) and cut by the new stylist yesterday. Half the price of the last time I went to a place here. That salon was located in a posh area on the river. This one is in a more relaxed town just north of here in a strip mall on Route 1. Regardless, she probably did the best cut and color I ever remember having - I told her what I wanted in basic terms and she made some suggestions. Wow does she know her stuff! My friend *****commended her described her as an artist. And so nice - early 40's with 2 small children and very family oriented. She is originally from a small town in Massachusetts near where DH grew up.

By the time I was home it was after noon so DH and I went to a restaurant on the river and split a sandwich, then took a walk on the edge of the river and onto a small peninsula dedicated as a Veteran's memorial. Very beautiful and peaceful. We will have to take Justice for that walk next time.

It is actually nice but warm here this morning. It is supposed to be windy (as always these days), quite warm and thunderstorms in the afternoon. A front just before my next golf tournament tomorrow morning when it will be 60 and windy. I swear I have been cold every week when I have played but thought that since it was 2 weeks since last time it would be warmer. Nope!

Today DH has golf so I will walk Justice around that timing and Water Aerobics. We have a wine dinner tonight with seafood and paella on the menu.

Have a warming Wednesday!

Sounds like that stylist is a keeper! I'm getting color and cut Friday, and I can't wait.

SNOW DAY! Well technically a flex day. We post online assignments for the students to complete and we need to be available via email for any questions. I'm doing this under the covers, in my jammies while watching the local news and drinking tea.

We got 10 inches, and now a stiff wind is blowing the snow around. Definitely a day to stay off the roads. I have everything I need here, so I will stay put.

The fires are mostly contained, but under a tornado watch until 1PM. 60+ mph winds are predicted to reignite some of the hot spots. I have the items on front porch and the Carolina room on the pond put away/battened down. Mahjongg was fun last night. The 2025 cards come out 04.01.25, so we are all trying to play some of the 2024 hands we haven't tried yet. Be safe, everyone !

The tornado watches and snow days make me thankful for the gray, gloomy 50+ degree weather we are having here today. We are supposed to be in for about a week or so of steady light rain. In CA that is the best type of rain. Creates easy run off, slow snow melt, both of which help our reservoirs.

Excellent chest/push work out yesterday. Legs today.

Ron and I had our traditional breakfast for dinner Fat Tuesday dinner last night. He loves this yearly event! I'm neither here nor there, but it is a fun tradition with just the two of us. He had a full on chicken fried steak and eggs with two ginormous sweet cream pancakes. Me, I had two eggs and two pieces of well done bacon and half a pancake. Just enough "Fat Tuesday" to feel indulgent, but now enough to go off the rails!

The thinner I get, the colder I stay. I'm even wearing a hoodie at the gym for the first part of my workout until I get too warm. Last night I ended up putting the hoodie back on for the end of the workout! I know I will appreciate this trait during the summer months.

The realization of the blessing of time hit me yesterday. IF I use my time wisely, I am going to have so much more time to do the things I WANT to do rather than HAVE to do in just 56 more days.

It is also a blessing for me to have something joyful to which I can look forward. Lately I have felt at times like I'm living through some type of futuristic Sci Fi political armageddon novel. Yesterday's events only amplified my feelings. Stock market is down, prices continue to rise and divisions worsen and widen...

Sounds like you ate wisely last night.

56 days! That's nothing! I felt like the last days went really fast too.

Your Fat Tuesday tradition sounds charming. Sorry you have joined the why is it so cold in here club. Hoodies and cardigans are survival tools.
