Good morning! It's so cold here, school is cancelled, due to dangerous temperatures. It's pretty much statewide. I'm tucked in my jammies still, drinking tea, watching a local talk show.

We are going to a friend's house for dinner tonight. It might be too dangerous for school, but not for socializing.

The movie The Last Show Girl was very captivating, and left me with a few questions. In the evening we watched the Martha Stewart documentary on Netflix. It was also very interesting. So a productive viewing day. : )

I woke up early when the heat began kicking on when it got to 62 in my room. It sounds like a jet taking off. Then I got to worrying about the fact that the irrigation was set to come on at 8am and it would still be 18 degrees then. So at about 7, I got up to go outside to change the timer to come on at 2pm. Brr. The feels like temp was 12.

I think my prescription issue is a Costco one. Their system isn't liking the combination of no insurance and savings coupon. I'm on hold with them now. Funny how these things work for months and then don't.

Anyway, more sun today and hopefully a trip to Costco. I may need a nap later!

Take care everyone!

Yikes! 12 degrees in AZ! I see New Orleans has snow! Crazy weather everywhere (except on Maui today where it is mid 70's and sunny).

Sunset cruise was fun. Lots of whale activity and sunset was pretty. The appetizers were only okay. The one we went on 5 years ago was great, they had shrimp, sushi and pork sliders. This one had skewers with one lone meatball and pineapple chunk and another skewer with a mozzarella pearl and cherry tomato. A few cut up veggies and fruit too. Unlimited ****tails but we are not big drinkers, so the one Mai Tai was enough!

Glad our last day is sunny. Pool time will be had and we will go back to the bar/restaurant that had live music and fun island vibes for an appetizer dinner! This has been an amazing vacation, so glad we booked it!

Diane, sorry for bitter cold! You are brave to venture out to socialize! Good for you!

I'm so glad you have enjoyed yourselves so much. Great that you have a warm, sunny last day before going home to the cold.

I started to write this in notepad because we had a short power outage this morning, but I forgot to fini**** up here!

Decent day yesterday even though it was cloudy and cool. We did go to the cider brewery in the afternoon. Dinner out at a new restaurant and I had phenomenal grouper. Really good place to return to in the future.

Today it has been pouring rain all day with the exception of about an hour mid-morning when I took Justice for a harbor view walk. This is the second day of the women's tennis invitational tournament sponsored by our club so who knows how they are going to be able to play: They haven't started yet, but are hoping they can slip in one match around 4 (it is 3 now).

We haven't done much with SIL on this visit. Usually we would have spent one or two days at the beach club but that has not been an option for this trip. We also haven't grilled food at the house because previously it was too windy and now it is too rainy. So no plans for today other than dinner out. I am a little concerned that she still hasn't eaten anything since she got up. We have some food and I offered to make her an English muffin with peanut butter if that's all she wanted but she said no. Her ribs are hurting her a lot in some additional areas to what hurt last week. She will be using a wheelchair in the airports tomorrow when she flies home (her son is picking her up in the other end).

Keep warm DD! Maybe SIL and I will watch the Martha Stewart show this afternoon.

Have a tangible Tuesday!

It must be very hard to see SIL decline. I admire her determination in the face of her health struggles.

Could be my mood in general, but I am bothered that Liz has not checked in. I hope all is well in her world.

Diamond D, I do not envy you the cold, but I'm jealous of the extra day off. However, will you have to make it up at the end of the year?

Weight loss is sssslllloooowww... It's kind of killing me. I shall persevere!

I am tired today! Understandable given the cumulation of yesterday's events and Lucky's early morning seizure today.

Sadly, after talking wth the vet and spending time with Berkeley, I chose to have him euthanized. He was not coming back from his seizure episode. He had developed pneumonia, arrhythmia, lost vision in his right eye, developed facial paralysis, and it seemed as if his right rear leg was not working. He had lost a bunch of weight since I had last seen him a few weeks ago. He recognized me and cuddled in to my lap in a fashion, but was visibly relaxed by my presence. I held him as he left. Mine were the first hands he felt coming into the world and the last he felt leaving. That was a good thing. I wish his mom had been able to be there, but I'm glad I was able to be with him. Always hard.

Hair cut after school, a visit to dad, and a workout planned. Hoping I have the energy for it all!

Tired Tuesday for me!

An act of mercy for Berkeley :( I have always stayed with my pets to the end, except for my Bella. I had to choose, be with her, or protect my children from my unhinged display of pain. They went with their father to hold her as she passed, and I stayed home and howled and cried by myself. I don't know about Berkeley's Mom, and what her choice would be, but it may have been a kindness to her too.

I'm so sorry to hear about Berkeley, but so happy you could be there for him. Sooooo sad!?
