Greetings all

Taking my sweet time with coffee and such today. DH is off with the ROMEOS having lunch. They have had this group for 15 plus years and includes the recently widowed friend. So it's all good. We will indeed be taking steps to keep him social. He actually does quite a bit - has a book club in addition to Romeo group and I think he goes to boxing for his Parkinson's disease. Mexican restaurant so DH will bring home something to add to the explosive amount of food we already have.

CC Happy Birthday!! Enjoy the restaurant and avoid the tourists. Those candles look really nice. Great with your southwest style house. Enjoy the day which I know will include football.

Paula so glad to hear that the caffeine avoidance is helping DH. It would indeed be great if that is all that is needed. It does seem that such things affect is more as we age. Something to think about.

Yep Liz, post Christmas funk. It's a thing. But it will pass with the next events. You have a gift for family connection.

And speaking of gifts, DD you have one as well to be with college roommates! What a great time. Enjoy.

Ann Happy Day Four!! What a cool wedding. Perfect. Big blow out weddings are for the very young. Judge sounds like a class act as was the entire event.

Not sure whet I will do today. Gym visit planned and I really need to deal with my laundry/clothing chaos. Piles of stuff that needs to go to thrift or pet rescue, Or just tossed. Living in this sort of hippie place makes me feel very guilty for throwing things in the garbage. One is expected to recycle and repurpose everything. But doing so has turned our home into a veritable land fill. Need to toss. I am only one of 8 billion garbage producers on this planet after all.

We continue to watch Ripley. It's getting pretty bizarre but compelling. We will probably do the rest tonight unless we get sucked into football.

Figuring out how to recycle as much as possible when I cleared my house was certainly a challenge. In the end there were possibly a few things that went to the dump, but likely in the swap shop at first so maybe not.

214.4 - down another tenth. i'll take it!

Post Christmas Winter funk is definitely a thing! Sorry you were feeling blue yesterday, Liz. I think a lot of people have post holiday funks, or let down after the holidays. Some have SAD. I am lucky to not have many symptoms associated with Seasonal Affective Disorder! BFF is severely affected! So is my brother's father in law.

Yesterday's cleaning did not happen as hoped, but I got a start at least... More today... Maybe... LOL

Had a really good workout yesterday, followed by 30 minutes on the treadmill. I believe my addiction tendencies are transferring to exercise. There are worse things, I suppose. Today is a partner workout with my trainer - always fun.

Blitz had a long distance date today. The girl lives in Nebraska, so his DNA had to get shipped FedEx overnight. Another date tomorrow morning! Animal husbandry sure has gone high tech!

Ron wants to go to a movie, so we'll have to figure that one out!

Not much else here. At least no rain so far today. Stormed something fierce during the night. I did not waken, but the debris in the yard was plenty of evidence!

Maybe a touch of SAD with holiday funk. It is dark by about 4 here, nearly 1.5 hours earlier than Florida. It is a bit later in the morning there before it gets light but not by a lot - the day is definitely longer. And of course it is much easier to get out into the light during the day when it is warm.

Oh my goodness! I was lounging in my jammies this morning when the doorbell rang. I thought it was the gopher exterminator, but it was my friends Amy and Cathy with flowers in a ceramic vase Amy had made filled with flowers her dad had arranged, a happy birthday balloon, party hats, a case of Diet Coke with a bow on it, and a box of gorgeous pastries from the local bakery! Honestly, I've never had anyone go to such lengths for my birthday, I welled up. Such amazing friends! I'm so lucky! Everyone donned the hats and we chowed down on pastries and coffee.

Then the gopher guy did come to lay bait (it's breeding season so the mounds are everywhere). So that dirty deed was done.

Then I cleaned my closet looking for a scrap of paper with the amount I owe my dad for my flight home from MI in September (I'm in arrears!), which I never found, though in my mind's eye I can see it in various places, but it's nowhere to be found.

Then a dog bath was done and a blow dry outside with the dog blow dryer. He loves to chomp at the air. And so much fur came out and flew around it looked like we were in a snow globe.

Now thinking about a snack and out to dinner later. A good birthday! One of the best!

Hope you all have had a great day. Take care!
