141.1, down again. Today is 1/2 dose shot day. The FDA ruled today that Zepbound is officially off the shortage list. Looks like 503 A?s have 60 days and 503 B?s have 90 to still distribute their compounds and then no more. Semaglutide should still be available for a bit. Glad I ordered the next dose up! If I reduce my dose back down to 2.5, it should last me for 3 months and I?m expecting another shipment soon, so that will be 6 months.

Snow with winter storm warnings today .Bible study last night canceled and didn?t go to today?s. DH still having vertigo symptoms and I needed to make some phone calls about getting him his MRI sooner and getting some meds for his nausea and vomiting when the vertigo kicks in. The PCP he saw thinks he might have an ear tumor (most likely non cancerous) that is causing the vertigo and hearing loss. I?m afraid we will have to cancel our Maui trip. The potential surgery does not sound fun (access is gained by removing part of the skull bone). Awaiting a call back to see what they can do for us! Honestly, having to manage DH?s medical stuff is bringing back too many memories of Ben?s cancer days and is making me feel anxious. God, I don?t want to have to go through all that again.

DS3 should come home for the Holidays tomorrow, DC1 will hang out here Saturday evening - Christmas Day (sleeping at their own apartment though) and DS2 will get here Monday night. DSD and fiancé will get here the day after Christmas I think. House will be busy and I will have to feed the crowd. The Friday after Christmas we will have a dual birthday celebration for DS2 and DS3. Should get on it for menu planning which then means a major grocery haul! Costco, here I come!

Oh Paula, that all does sound so miserable. So praying it doesn't require surgery to resolve it.

So scary, Paula. Saying a prayer you don't need to go through that again.

Oh boy, I hope the doctor is just being an alarmist. The MRI should be somewhat definitive on whether it is an ear tumor correct? Has Meniere's been ruled out? My MIL suffered terribly from years with Meniere's until the nerve in that ear finally died out and she became deaf on that side. There wasn't much available for treatment in those days so she spent several years in bed a lot of the time.

No, Meniere's has not been ruled out. I have a friend that had that! Hopefully an MRI will be ordered soon!

Greetings all

Another overcast day. Another stream of consciousness post for me!

No meetings or requirements today which I like. I did some Christmas planning and made my list. Ordered a case of wine from the local winery. Stopped in the bookstore and found an interesting looking book about the slowly eroding California coast that I thought our friend might like. Stopped at CVS for vitamins and found a few other useful items. Then I went to the studio and made some stuff plus caught up on all the gossip. Finished up with the treadmill at the gym. It was busier than usual which may be due to a later hour for me. Retrieved my favorite hoodie from the lost and found there and they had washed and dried it! Nice.

Paula that is so concerning about your DH having dizziness. I sure hope it turns out to be something easy to treat. Anxiety not needed. Ditto trip worries. Agreed the scan needs to be asap.

Thanks all for advice on squats. I actually do some little ones while coffee brews but need to do some more serious ones. I investigated the stair climbers at the gym (actually used to do them years ago) but they looked too tough. Baby steps needed.

Glad you arrived safely Liz. Yeah night driving in bad weather sounds miserable. No fun when tired. A fake snake!!! Whatever works.

CC very energetic of you to do all that cleaning. But now it's done and you can enjoy your guests.

The yum yum sandwiches last night were great. More tonight.

Yeah Peps, some people just need to shut up. There should be some kind of retort for such unwelcome personal comments. Like "thanks for your opinion but no thanks". But consider that said insensitive person is actually concerned about you and thinks they are being helpful.

Not much else. Diane S

I'd be interested to hear what Peps says, but my thoughts: I really found the recumbent bike helpful with strengthening my legs and glutes. I would peddle slower, but with a lot of resistance (for me). Later I moved to doing the resistance weight machines, but the recumbent bike was a great tool, safe, fairly comfortable (can watch TV), adjustable as I got stronger, and I did not hate it.

I used to have a recumbent bike too and found it much more comfortable to use than a regular exercise bike.

Liz, what a busy time after a long travel day! I don't know where you get the energy. I guess we do what we have to do.

Today at work I had to have a peer coach observation. Every 3 years, observations are done by admin, but in between we have coaches who observe us. Then you reflect on their feedback in a evaluation portfolio that is submitted along with other data at the end of the year. The carrot is that if you do it correctly (its all graded by another group of evaluators) , you get a quality stipend of $1,500. It's so much work. Each observation requires a pre meeting, the actual observation, and a post meeting. In addition to the stipend, you HAVE to do it to avoid being in a continuous improvement plan the next year, the punish for not having a good portfolio, proving you are NOT a quality teacher. But I am not going to be there next year, so I planned on just blowing it off and forgoing the stipend. The coach talked me into it. Sigh. 2 days before break, it was not our best work. The kids tried, and I tried but we're tired. So then I spent 45 minutes reflecting with the coach about how I would tweak the lesson in the future. What a waste of my time.

But, one more sleep, then some time off. Happy dance.

It finally snowed here. The students were very disappointed we didn't have a snow day or at least a 2 hour late start. Sorry kiddos, 5 inches of snow is not going to do it. The snow is pretty and makes it more Christmassy.

Hard to get your heart into some things when you know your days are numbered at work. Have you told them you are retiring yet?

2-3 inches of Christmassy atmospheric snow would be nice. Even a bit more as long as the roads are dry when we have to embark on our travels. There might be snow showers today...
