117.6 - Must feel free to eat more today.
I only have 2 more days of staying with the sisters since I fly home on Wednesday (they leave Thursday late afternoon). It has been a good visit though the younger sister has been quite crippled with sciatica. She went to urgent care early in the week, then got an additional prescription from her doctor at home but it hasn't really eased up. I feel bad for her.
The older sister is the mother hen of their family. She takes care of everything for her DH, DD, and nephew (the younger sister's son lives with the older sister). If anything ever happens to her they are going to have a shock learning to function. The 2 younger ones are 34, don't drive, and only work sporadically. They just went to N.Y.C. for the first time this weekend (they have never been to Boston which is just a 1/2 hour subway trip from where they live). They took a train to N.Y.C., hung out at some bars before attending a show and the girl who had the money for the day had her wallet stolen. What a fiasco until they realized they could access her debit card via her phone (after consulting with Mom). They hadn't made any arrangements to stay overnight nor had they planned the trip home so had to find a bus back to Massachusetts in the middle of the night. The DH wouldn't have been able to help as he lives in the finished basement and rarely leaves it (he watches TV, smokes, drinks beer, eats and sleeps there). His wife "visits" for date night to watch TV periodically. Really an odd household.
Anyway today the sisters are going out on their own to shop, etc. DH and I have errands to do. Leftovers for all tonight.
I forgot to tell you that when the delivery guys came Saturday with my furniture they only delivered one chair, not 2. I spent a fair amount of time on the phone but it didn't seem clear whether they knew where the other chair was but the delivery had been set up for just one of them. So now I am worried that I will only have one chair to sit in for the next month or so where 2 usually are.
Also thanks to Paula, my Christmas shopping is done! Of course I have to pick most of it up at my SIL's home when we get there next week and wrap it but at least it is finished. Today or tomorrow I need to get a box together with my great nephew and niece's gifts and send them off to Seattle.
Have a moving Monday!

Got home last night after a 4-day trip to Texas to celebrate a younger sister's 70th birthday. It was absolutely wonderful, but incredibly intense, and I am exhausted!
This is my last week in my home. The closing is Friday, and movers come next Monday. I'll be so glad when it's really over. Send me courage and energy to get through this last lap around the track. I'm sending y'all energy and courage to get through this coming week whatever is challenging you.
I'd write more, but now it's time to get up and act like a grownup. One, two, three!

Good morning! I took the trash out at the crack this morning (honestly, a job I hate so I always feel like I need applause when I trudge back up the driveway having done it).
The concert was pretty great. Classical guitarist playing JS Bach mostly, with some modern stuff here and there. I'm always humbled by people with true talents I could never hope to have!
This morning I have my yearly doctor's appointment (oh shoot, I had my coffee, which I wasn't going to do pre-bloodwork. Oh well. I can't be trusted to remember these things as a non-morning person!! I did remember to suspend any vitamins with biotin several days before my thyroid test - did you know that messes with your results?). I am also dropping Kirby at camp in Flagstaff for two nights while I'm up there - two birds with one stone. My doctor is up there and I am going on a women's group outing to Phoenix tomorrow my friend asked me to join her on (Christmas shopping, dinner, Mannheim Steamroller concert). So it's easier to have him boarded than find someone to come hang with him and gives him a chance to socialIze with other dogs. And while there is time to take him up tomorrow morning and board only one night, that would be about 7 hours in one day in a car and bus and that sounds dreadful.
Funny story though, I try to say yes when people ask me to do social things and not let my "I don't wanna" feelings get in the way. But I neglected to think about how much I don't like Mannheim Steamroller! I was laughing with another friend about it last night and was trying to describe them to her and said it's like angry, electric Christmas music with lasers. We were rolling! She watched a video and summed it up as "80s Christmas Tron." Perfection!
So that's my next two days. I did weigh this morning and was 183. Not bad for having a giant tub of chocolate caramels from Costco in the house!
I need to go shower and get moving. Have a great day all!
Busy you!!!

Dreary morning- medicating with cocoa-coffee, fireplace lit, and Christmas tree lights on to dispel the gloom. Cold front coming in for a few days.
On a positive note, my energy level has returned and feeling much better than of late. Thanks for all well wishes! Good timing, too, because (hopefully, the must do set up work is complete) it's time to enjoy the season! Waiting on a delivery today of AA batteries for some lights , then - poof- rest, relax and let the holiday season begin. Home baked graham crackers are first in line-
Neighbor coming over for "cribbage", tea, and hopefully warm crackers (moving bonus- neighbors!) so better get to baking....
Make yours a mmmmmmm, smells good Monday!

Home baked graham crackers! I never knew anyone who made them (though many have used store bought ones in recipes LOL).
