I'm glad DH and you had such a good time on your date night/trip! There is a lure about living in a city isn't there?

Greetings all

It's starting to rain here which is better than an earthquake. I went to the gym and did my walking. I have a very small stride and always have (picture Japanese woman in kimono) so no wonder I don't get very far. I was always slower than everyone else as a kid. But at least old age brings the wisdom to think "I don't give a fuck". So there.

Did some studio time. We are doing really well financially and will give bonuses next week. Some of my things got fired yesterday so they will be out Monday. Studio buddy wanted to come over and watch football today but I had stuff to do. Yesterday at the gallery a friend came by who has one of the puppies. Sassy. Adorable and a live wire.

Bonnie sorry the germs found you. You are correct that a good treatment plan is a day of lounging and fresh pajamas every 24 hours. Herb tea and slippers. I swear the only thing that helps a cold is a steamy shower. Feel better soon.

DD you big city girl! Your evening sounds great. Good on you for taking advantage of what is available which is considerable.

Liz hope you have fun with the bland eating SILs. Once you know this I guess it makes it easier to be the hostess. Or does it? I remember CC's aunt who hates everything to the point no one will tolerate her. So just as well that the SILs shun escargot.

Any of you midwesterners ever eat Maid Rite sandwiches? We had a version of those called Tastees when I grew up. Anyway my brother is being nostalgic about those and thinks he has the recipe and wants us to make them sometime. Steamed loose meat sandwiches on greasy buns. So now I have that on my mind.

Paula congrats on the clothing finds. Always fun to fit something that once did not fit.

CC enjoy the crisp air. Seems like older people always want it a zillion degrees. It was like that at my mom's retirement home.

Pot roast cooking and it smells great. Still needs a couple of hours as it's pretty tough. carrots have yet to be added.

Gallery duty again tomorrow but then I am done for the year. Seems impossible that this wild year is coming to a close.

Yes, we have Maid rites, but ours is just browned ground beef with Ketchup added, a less glorious sloppy Joe if you will! The pit roast sounds amazing! DH doesn't like roast so I never make it!

I never heard of Maid Rite sandwiches or Tastees. Must not be a northeast thing? That pot roast sounds great - I rarely cooked it but my mother made great pot roast.
