Day 3 with the sisters. We spent another day at the beach club yesterday but are skipping it today. We plan to eat lunch at a tiki bar on the water then listen to music outdoors at another bar nearby. Dinner will be steaks grilled at home. The sisters are very basic in what they will eat: steak, burgers, chicken fingers, grilled cheese, salad. Sauces always on the side. They eat pizza with just cheese and no sauce. Kind of like a cracker with cheese melted on top IMO.
I need to get my act in gear to get flowers for the funeral and make some appointments. Always something on a to do list. You probably saw that I posted my BIL's obituary on FB. I hesitated until I saw that DD had done so because their family sometimes makes a big deal over privacy. But I knew there were people I wasn't going to call who would want to know and it was the best way to inform them. In fact I got a call from an old family friend last night who found out because of the post.
My new living room chairs arrive today so we must move the leather chairs out of the room. We are hoping friends will take them. Water aerobics in 2 hours - hopefully it will warm up a lot by then.
Have a successful Saturday!

Too.many.people.with.too.many germs. I was out and about most of the day and, what with the kiddo's BBGame last night, I brought a bug home. Definitely not enough hankies in the world to keep up with my nose. Took some OTC cold medicine and woke up this morning and changed out of my jammies, opened the dresser and...dressed in....fluffier....jammies.
all the way POd 'cause this fun Holiday play day is going to get shelved and some kind of boring sickodonothingbutconvelence day is knocking at my door and wants to come in.
Will return to the world of the living asap.

146.4, down a smidge. Brought more small clothes up from the basement and am currently washing them! Man, I have a lot of clothes! Time to do some more purging I think!
Today I?m going to a Christmas gathering for a friend that does sidewalk ministry. We are going to do a craft item and put together bags for them to handout on the sidewalk. Tonight I?m going to DS2?s ex?s A cappella concert with his parents. I know the breakup was for the best but I really miss the young man! He really did become part of our family the 3 1/2 years they dated! It will be good to see him tonight!
I did get on the treadmill last night. 3 mph for 30 minutes. I also did a set of bicep curls! It?s a start and I?m not sore at all! Time to get in the shower and get ready for the day!
Sounds like a productive and full day on tap!

50s and sun during the day for the foreseeable future and 20s and 30s at night. I don't like having the heat on (and it will be blasting when my dad is here so I'm trying to enjoy the bite), and the sun will warm parts of the house today, but right now brr. So I flipped on the fireplace.
The gallery thing was just okay, but it was nice to see my friends. Then I came home and worked on the HOA newsletter. No plans for today, so jus****ching tv and thinking about how I really should go clean the fur off of something and walk the dog...
Bonnie, sorry you have the crud! Feel better soon. Peps, I saw your cryptic FB post. What happened if you want to share? Liz, the sisters sounds like they must be super-tasters with their toddler-like tastes! I struggle to imagine not liking what the world of food has to offer? DD, I still wore my flip-flops yesterday though my tootsies were slightly chilled as I was leaving the event. Nothing the car heater couldn't fix. Paula congrats on the basement clothes shopping!
A fireplace is so nice to remove chill without getting the whole place heated. Sounds like you may need a bit more soon though.

Back from 24 hours in the big city. We had the best time! Hotel, dinner at Minneapolis' most treasured steak house, the absolutely amazing Christmas show, and then lunch this morning at an Inn on a little chunk of land called Nicollet Island surrounded by the Mississippi River. All venues tastefully decorated for Christmas.
Walking to dinner and the theater last night made me want to live smack in the city again. The Inn we went to is right near the neighborhood I lived in when I was a student. The area has super gentrified. I don't think we can afford it now. I would move back there in a heartbeat though if we could.
It was such a nice break. I feel like we went on a little vacation. We may have to do this again.
Not much else planned. Perhaps an afternoon nap after all the big city life! Relishing the relaxed schedule.
