Yesterday we got some errands done and went out to dinner at a new Mediterranean restaurant. Really great flavors, but rather expensive. Though I think it can be done for less as takeout because a lot of it can be bought separately (we got entrees with side dishes). I could only eat one of the kabob skewers on my plate but it was so good! We could buy just the number of skewers we wanted and share rice and vegetables for takeout.
No word yet on when services will be for my BIL who died 9 days ago. His death has to be signed off on by a medical examiner (I'm guessing they must want to do an autopsy because of the suddenness?****il that is done, nothing can be set up. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being after the holidays at this point as he is going to be cremated, then my other BIL and SIL will come with the ashes to Massachusetts for services.
Today my SILs from my newer family arrive for 10 days. No set schedule on what we are going to be doing but luckily the weather begins to warm up after today. People were chuckling at my puffy winter jacket yesterday but a lot of other people were dressed the same way. I am going to try to do water aerobics this morning if she holds the class - at least the water will be warm. My head cold is definitely on its way out finally so I think I'm ready to go back to the water.
After exercise this morning (and before the sisters arrive), I am going to make a turkey pie out of the remainder from last week. If the sisters are interested I will cook it for them, otherwise it goes in the freezer to eat after their departure. I hate throwing good food out, so though we threw out the junk food left from last week I feel good that we have been able to eat the healthier stuff.
Have a winning Wednesday!
Happy Birthday Ann!

Thanks, Liz, for the birthday greetings. This is the last year of my 70s ... good grief! I'll see my youngest sister this evening, otherwise this will be a regular day. Gotta jump up and be somebody.
I'm so looking forward to the coming year in our new home. It's going to be awesome! Here's hoping for all my OHM friends that this next year is wonderful.
Thanks to everyone for keeping us together. There aren't many people in this world who share our commonalities. I'm proud of each one of us.

You have more energy than I do and I am 10 years younger (70 in March). I sure hope I hold up as well as you!

Thanks, Paula. But I think you have plenty of energy! You manage that big family of yours, which would keep anyone in third gear 24/7.

LOL! Liz, I could never be the nearly full-time hostess and woman-about-town you are. Y'all have an astonishing social life. Respect!

Argh, the irrigation was on this morning and Kirby took it upon himself to dig a great big muddy hole under a tree. The dirt here is 100% bright red! Paws and mouth were dripping with red mud. He then ran over to show me and jumped up getting mud all over me. Good times with a still-puppy! I leashed him up and tied him to a lounge chair to stop the digging momentarily so I could get the hose ready. He was not happy to have his handiwork rinsed off.
Shot day today. Holding steady at 183.6. I made a hamburger and rice dish Mexican casserole last night, figuring it is high protein and I can graze on it for several days. Looked like dog food, but tasted pretty good. My house smells like onions this morning though and I hate that more than any other lingering kitchen smell!
I need to do some cleaning today. Fur Management is such a big part of my world! I also need to work on the neighborhood newsletter and a request to replace a bunch of trees that died this year. I have an embarrassing number of Amazon packages coming today too. I do subscribe and save, but between that and Black Friday sales it's as if they put each item in a separate box. The postal worker will hate me!
That's all from Sedona! Have a lovely day all.
Yeah Amazon is here a lot too - I have packages arriving here and at my SILs on Cape Cod this week.
And sorry, but I had to laugh at the image of Kirby and you with red mud everywhere
