Ugh, the season of head colds and other charming viruses. There has been an outbreak of a viral pneumonia in this area. It can be scary stuff.

Ann thinking about how you and others who are moved or moving have to give up your medical people. I would find getting a new hair stylist daunting! Although in some cases it doesn't matter if I move or not, providers I really like are retiring or moving themselves.

Yes, the weather is full on crazy here. A reprieve tomorrow with a high near 30 (!) but Thursday, low of 6, high of 15, then possible 40s during the weekend.

Our Christmas tree is up courtesy of DH who had the day off yesterday. I'd like the garland up on the stairs, and then I'm not sure if I care about the other boxes and boxes of stuff get put out. But maybe I will feel differently this weekend.

DD left for Boston today, but she will be back in 3 weeks, so I am not too sad. We had a great family holiday. DS will come on December 21, and leave December 26 to join his girlfriend's family at their home in Palm Springs. Not too bad!

I'm using another sick day on Friday. DH and I are spending the evening at a hotel downtown, so we can attend a holiday show. We're also going out to dinner at a Minneapolis institution, Murray's (it's a steakhouse/ supper club), the kind of place where the servers have worked there for 30 years. The first time we ever dined there, was to celebrate our engagement. So I'm looking forward to a fancy weekend!

Greetings

More sun today though it is chilly. I have the back slider open as I am gluing some wine stoppers and the glue really stinks. I am lucky in this climate that I can do that though Liz you would have your puffy coat on! When I lost all that vsg weight at first I was chilled a lot and worried about living here but I adjusted after a few months. Just never do sleeveless but I never did anyway.

Rats Ann, a disease with a name! Sorry you had a bad trip on the medication. Some of that stuff is nasty. Hope you get well soon and can finish up your moving chores. You are nearing the finish line!

Yeah Paula do watch the protein and pay attention to muscle mass. There is that test to determine body fat percentage which I did at low weight and it was still 30%. I think gyms have ways to do that. it is interesting to discover new bones. Your Christmas stuff looks great.

So DD sounds like you have great plans for the show and such. Enjoy. Palm Springs visit in the future?

So today I skipped the gym and finally got the jar I made shipped out to hold the ashes of my dear friend. jeez it cost over $100 to ship!! And I valued it at $200 and there was all this stuff about did I buy it or make it and required a signature to deliver. Oh well, done now.

After that I did some studio work and glazed. More needed for Friday firing but I am finally up to speed in the clay department.

We watched the rest of Murder Mindfully last night. Pretty good. Will be foraging for some new tv tonight.

House gets cleaned tomorrow so I have to pick up tonight. Hamburgers again. After that must face the great food unknown..

I used to like having the house cleaned by a housekeeper because it forced the pickup. For one or two days after everything was so neat!

That does seem like a high cost to ship - maybe because it is fragile? I ship large boxes of clothing for about $70, but there is nothing at all breakable in them. Anyway I am sure it is absolutely beautiful and what a lovely idea to make it personally.
