119.2 - I was worried as I felt I ate a lot yesterday. I guess not too bad if it is just one day. Our bodies are so weird in response to low or high calories.

I still have a head cold as it sounds like several of us have. But so far this morning it seems somewhat better and I slept somewhat better last night. I was super stuffed up late yesterday but I felt fine otherwise.

I watched 4 episodes of The Geek and really enjoyed it. DH and I watched A Biltmore Christmas last night. Very cute compared to most sicky sweet Christmas movies. Thanks Ann and CC! Sometime soon I want to watch the Christmas Chronicles as it is one of my favorite Christmas movies, not to mention that Kurt Russell is awfully handsome in it.

The house is fully clean and the sisters arrive tomorrow. We need to get a few things at the store to get ready but that's it before the next onslaught of company.

We are in a cold spell right now - 47 this morning with a high of 65 and strong north winds. The heat here didn't seem to be working so we called the AC/Heat company yesterday and they came to look at it. Apparently we have a heat blower that is part of the AC unit newly installed just over a year ago. The heater part is fine and heats the air up, but the blower is so strong that the air is cooling down substantially before it makes it out of the ducts. So it takes forever (and a lot of electricity) to warm it up. I ordered a heated throw to use instead from Amazon. The good news is that tomorrow looks like it is the last day of the cold spell so it will warm up starting Thursday and stay warmer until we leave for the north on 12/18. 15 days?!?!

In the meantime Justice and I are snuggled under a regular throw (I bet he will like the heated one). Have a trading Tuesday!

Morning, all! :)

It's 19 degrees and sunny here with heavy frost on everything.

I saw my doctor yesterday about my postnasal drip and sore throat, and he diagnosed that I have HMPV (human metapneumovirus), this season's lovely head cold virus. See https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22443-human-m etapneumovirus-hmpv He prescribed Metamucil DM and (if I start feeling really bad) Azithromycin.

I've seldom suffered from respiratory illnesses, but in the last 24 hours I've learned that Metamucil DM does NOT like me. And I don't like it! Last night I felt like I was stoned--and not the good stoned, but the "Geez, I feel so much worse now than I did before I took this crap" stoned.

I'm about to take my second pill, but if it has the same effects on me as my first dose I'll happily just suffer my head cold symptoms.

Nonetheless, I got so much accomplished yesterday and feel good about that. This morning I'm going to take it easy and indulge in my favorite thing--soaking in my jacuzzi tub. At noon I'll head back to town to accomplish more to-dos--make final 2025 health insurance decisions, change my financial beneficiaries, cancel 2025 utility services, clean out my safe deposit box, pay my annual real estate and personal property taxes, line up furniture donations to Habitat for Humanity and Boys and Girls Club, etc. I know all this will end, but there's so much work involved in saying goodbye not only to a long-time home but all the services that keep it running.

So even with a head cold, it's a gratitude day. On frosty mornings like this I think of folks who don't have warm homes and beds. We are all so very lucky!

Yes, so much work to close out a house. I hope your head cold (aka HMPV) goes away soon. We did use to label all these upper respiratory things as colds, but I'm guessing they were always a myriad of different viruses.

146.8. Back down! I'm feeling bonier than usual at this weight (I think). I was happy when my collar bones made a reappearance but now I can feel my hip bones, my butt is so boney that sitting on anything but cushy surfaces is uncomfortable and I can feel my individual ribs on the side and back. I know I'm too thin when I can start seeing my ribs in the upper chest (not quite there yet!) One of my goals was to be able to fit in my long blue wedding dress for DSDs wedding in May. It fits now! I for sure want to get to a normal BMI (just a few pounds away) but may need to rethink my goal of 130. It seems like my body composition is just different now, which makes sense as I age.

Lots of errands to run today. Need to return a sweater, make a Costco run and go kitchen table shopping. We are seeing hard wood floor damage (scratches) under the table by chair that DC1 uses. The chairs are barstool height and he is short so has to scoot to get the chair in. They are about 300 lbs. and I guess that is too much weight for scooting. We took the little plastic buffer off the chair leg bottoms and added a pad but unfortunately the floor damage is already done. I think we may go with a standard height table and chairs (less scooting)!

Ann, we join you in the cold weather. 7-20 degrees with the windchill today. Have I ever mentioned that I hate Wisconsin winters?

Makes me cold to think about your weather - I had a down jacket on at 62 degrees LOL.

I do think as we get older there is less muscle and that may be why we are bonier at higher weights.

Yes, I'm fearing that muscle loss is playing a major role here!

Muscle acts as "padding" too. With your low calories, I worry you aren't preserving muscle!

I try to get in as much protein as I can when I eat but it was tough when losing. Protein drink as creamer in my coffee. Eggs and cottage cheese for breakfast. Meat or tuna with cottage cheese for lunch.
