It's another Monday morning on Planet Earth. The next few days will be busy ones for me with lots of financial and pre-moving to-dos prior to my home closing in less than two weeks.

During yesterday's day of rest I enjoyed being home alone. I binge watched "Geek Girl" on Netflix, a surprisingly enjoyable and sensitive Cinderella story about a neurodivergent 17-year-old girl who is discovered by a high-fashion modeling agency. Drama, romance, and beautiful clothes ensued, and I ate it all up!

Other than that, there's no new news. I'm still sniffling and phlegming and hope to see my doc today. Y'all have a good one.

119.4. Yesterday evening was my 1/2 dose day.

Ann, I bet you are going to be so happy to be done going back and forth such a long distance. Be prepared to grieve for your house though. It is good that you will be so involved in working on making the new place perfect to help combat that.

I will have to look for Geek Girl, but it sounds like something I would like though not DH? We watched the new Lindsay Lohan Christmas movie on Netflix last night. It was just okay.

Yes, I did get most of the chores done that I wanted to yesterday though we still need to do some cleaning, especially in the bathrooms. The next guests arrive Wednesday or it is Thursday? We have to check with them.

So cold out this morning for Florida (48). I have a head cold and only slept solidly for about 2.5 hours last night so I just don't think I have it in me to go to water aerobics and freeze this morning. I am hoping it is canceled but if the temperature goes over 55 she will do it. In the interim I turned the heat on as it was 64 in the condo. Guess what? It is only blowing lukewarm air. Feels like it is recycling the air in the house without warming it as it has been on for over 1/2 hour and the temperature is still 64. Another repair bill. In the last month we have already had the garage door repaired, a plumber, and an electrician (with our handyman coming afterwards to fix the ceiling). When it rains it pours...

Hopefully at some point it is warm enough to walk with Justice. Is is quite sunny though windy. Have a munificent Monday!

Liz, I do bet that you'd really like "Geek Girl." But I also bet that your DH would not be hooked by its charms.

Which brings me to another confession: I think that one weekend a month I'd like to spend alone binge-watching all the things my DF would not enjoy. As much of an extrovert as I am, I do love my alone time, which is why I get up at dark o'clock, no matter the season, to do all my puzzles and read the papers. :)

148.7, up another pound! If eating 1,000 calories a day instead of 600-700 makes me gain weight, I'm doomed! I took the second 1/2 of my split dose last night. Took the whole 1/2 dose instead of the quarter dose I took on Thursday. Mostly because the Best Used by Date on my meds is 11/23/24 and I have a few weeks of it left. Not sure why they didn't give me fresher meds! I'm still getting good suppression but food noise is a little more (i.e., the sweets around the house are calling to me a bit).

Emma dog is set for a dental cleaning and most likely some extractions this morning. She also has a little growth above her eye we will have them remove while under anesthesia. They are having us sign papers if we want her to be a DNR or not should something go wrong during surgery. I think that is unlikely, but she is a little old lady at 13 1/2!

Going to see Wicked with DC 1 today. Still need to do the guest bedroom sheets (3 sets) and finish inside Christmas decorations. Also have some returns and other errands today!

Like Liz, sleep eluded me last night!

218.3 - up a half pound. Guessing movie popcorn is the culprit. We went to see Wicked. I enjoyed it very much. The art and set design are phenomenal. I'm hoping Academy Awards in those categories are won! The score is rather clever, too. Quite a few homages to MGM's 1939 movie!

I did try to be somewhat productive yesterday. I got a lot of boring laundry (towels, sheets, crate pads) washed, folded and put away. I also was able to prep for today's lessons and feel very prepared to walk in the classroom and GOOOO! Also, paid property tax. Why CA has property tax due on December 10 is beyond me! Not the month to have a huge chunk of money fly out the window.

Getting up was not easy this morning. O'Dark Thirty was too chilly and dark for my taste. Traffic this morning was an absolute bear, too! I will be glad to leave the morning commute behind.

Good news: I'm taking two days this week for dog shows. So, kind of a short week for me. Work today and tomorrow, take Wednesday and Thursday off, work Friday. The following week will be a short one, too. I will fly to Baltimore on Friday, 12/13 (knock on wood) for my aunt's celebration of life.

While I did not really gain weight over the Thanksgiving week, I am feeling the push to seriously work on losing a few more pounds prior to the new year. My client on Saturday said she was not sure she wanted me to lose more weight. I'm thinking to myself, well, it's not really up to you, now is it? LOL! Funny how people feel entitled to an opinion on my weight loss goals.

Well, recess is almost over. Time to get cracking! I have holiday music to teach! Working on one of my absolute favorites today: I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas!

Some days I just want to slap people for their self-granted entitlement to express every opinion they have whether they've been invited to do so or not. There's someone in my life right now who has strong opinions about many topics, but the bigger problem is that she insists on not only voicing them but then arguing with anyone in the room who doesn't agree with her opinion. And then she gets all insulted when the room temperature has risen so high that someone tells her to please just STFU. I will be spending less time in her presence next year.

People like that are sometimes best avoided in the long run IMO.

Two TV recommendations. For a Christmas movie, A Biltmore Christmas on Netflix is one of the better ones I've seen this year. Of course, the bar isn't high, but I wasn't cringing my way through it like most!

On Britbox, No Offense. Crime show, good twists. Female leads. Entertaining!
