119.8

Another good day with the kids yesterday. We had a bocce match (DH and I won but barely), then went to a sports bar to watch the Patriots actually win a game. Last stop at the Beach Club, then Italian takeout at the house. We drop them at the airport at 8:45 this morning. It was a great visit.

So I mentioned yesterday that we have a wedding in Scottsdale in October of next year and will probably visit Sedona? Well a second wedding invitation from my other nephew and his fiancé arrived yesterday and they are getting married in Madrid, Spain in early July. So a lot of wedding travel next year. My SILs don't want to do Greece in addition so that will be deferred until 2026, but we will tour Spain and DH and I will visit some other European destinations including his DS and DIL in Poland. So much for ratcheting back on travel in 2025.

Very few plans today other than water aerobics and DH golfing. Nine days until our next batch of company. Have a vital Veterans Day!

I say travel as much as you can while your health and vigor stills allow you to! I need to take my own advice!

Dang Liz! You're not kidding about not being able to scale back the travels. But, if you like it - which it seems you do - then enjoy the hell out of it!!!!!

I've been dog showing all weekend. Was fun, but tiring. I went to bed early last night and stayed in bed for close to 9 hours. Yay me! I've just been puttering on the computer this morning catching up on email, etc...

I have been purposely out of touch with news and social media the past few days. The Woe is Me from one side and the gloating and such from the other is just too much for me. STFU already. It is obvious that there has been a significant culture shift in our country. Political leaders across the board need to take note and get in touch with the reality of that.

Weight is solidly down below 220 now. Another yay for the day! Just about 30 pounds left to goal. I'm in for that. Still pushing protein above all else. Energy is good and I'm still easily getting close to 2000 calories per day. It does make it slow going keeping calories high, but I think in the long run it will be better for my metabolism and long term maintenance. My muscle mass seems to be maintaining nicely, too.

Not much else to say today.

Greetings all

It's sunny but windy here. Rain to arrive Wednesday just in time to torture my visiting friends. Oh well, I warned them. Today I will do my usual wandering - pick up payroll, go waddle along on a treadmill at the gym, and on to the studio to deliver the payroll and see what comes out of the kiln. Still not ready to put my hands into clay as I still have some scabs and peeling skin.

Wow Liz, you really are going to be traveling! I agree with Paula - do it while you can. These days I find the idea of dragging through airports to be horrifying so not going to do it. But would still like to see the south of France if I could beam myself there.

Yeah Peps I am with you on post election stuff. DH is in a major funk and I wish he would get over it. Keep having to tune in to Ancient Aliens to get his mind off it. No can watch news. Hope you had good shows Peps.

Ann that family looks lovely. Nice to think of them enjoying your home and those kids exploring the outdoors.

The dogs are basking on the deck during what may be the last basking day for awhile. Maybe winter here will get me over my travel aversion and get to Hawaii or something.

Wishing the best to all our veterans. My Dad would be 101 if he were alive. Truly the Greatest Generation.

Onward. Diane S

Do you feel your hands are turning out as well as you had hoped?

Liz, Spain!!! Amazing trips on deck. Will any of your children travel for your nephew's wedding?

I agree with trying to ignore the news/entertainment cycle. I am getting my news from my newspaper, and local channels. I have a lot of thoughts about politics, and don't need to churn them even more. What can I do in this world? I am not destined to change the world on a macro level. But I can continue to offer good deeds on a micro level. My teaching career can be summed up as thus: Do small things with great love ~ Mother Theresa.

DS spent the night with us, and flew off to Philly for work. He'll be back tomorrow night. It was nice to see his car in our driveway when I got home tonight, even if he himself isn't here right now. Its a clue he will be back soon. :) I asked him what he wanted for dinner tomorrow night, and he said lasagna. I bought ingredients on the way home from work.

DH is calling me for dinner. Life can be so sweet.

The kids aren't invited to the weddings but all my in-laws will be there (my generation). Nice that you have a visit from DS. I haven't had the energy to make lasagne in ages (not that it is that hard).

150.4, down again!

Hung out with DC1 today. Didn?t do the Costco rotisserie chicken last night as they were sold out and the next ones wouldn?t be ready for another 48 minutes! I chose their butter chicken with naan instead (Indian cuisine). I wasn?t a big fan and wouldn?t get again. Sent DH to Costco today for a second try at the rotisserie chicken and he was successful. Too bad I was only able to have a few bites before I was "done". When my brain gives me that signal, I?m truly done. Literally cannot eat another bite! I?ve actually seen Tik Toks of people on a GLP 1 be done mid bite and having to spit out what is in their mouth!

I think this week I will try to split my dose, half on Thursday morning and half on Sunday night. I don?t like the days I get less than 800 calories in. It might be good for losing but must be cannibalizing my muscle like crazy!

Your body really wanted to hold on before the next drop!

I lost a lot of muscle and I know BB felt the same. I am trying to be as high protein as I can and hopefully with increased exercise (and high protein) it will come back. When I was at PT she told me that after a surgery like mine, the range of motion can only be brought back within a year, but you can always build muscle back (if you work at it). This discussion was around my shoulder and how much muscle I lost in 8 weeks of being in a sling, but I figure it must be relevant overall?
