119.6

Remember "Red sky at night, sailor's delight - Red sky at morning, sailors take warning "? The sky is lit up pink and everything outside has a pink glow right now. Amazing looking. It just finished pouring.

The show last night was kind of a bust - too slapstick for our taste so we left at intermission (as did quite a few other people). Our dinner out was good though.

Very surprised at how quickly the election was decided. At least the ads are done. Just the political conjecture on what transpired.

Today I have water aerobics, painting the last coat of paint on my end table, bocce @ 4, and a wine dinner at the clubhouse tonight. Not a tough day. DH is competing today to get a spot in a golf tournament called the Presidents Cup. He has never competed in golf before. I think he is a bit nervous.

I hope it stops raining soon and dries out fast or DH's try-out will be delayed. Justice has refused to go out in the pouring rain so far.

Have a winsome Wednesday!

ETA: Where is Disclosure? Looks like there are multiple shows with that name.

Sunny, windy and cold this morning. I was up until the wee hours watching the election, texting with my dad.

Kirby is a nut. Lucy, his neighborhood girlfriend, we thought was done with her heat came over, but obviously she was not done. Kirby licked and cried and tried to jump on her and ever since, just cries to be outside licking and sniffing all the places she visited in the yard. Ugh. I even tried spraying the spot under the table she was laying in with Nature's Miracle, but apparently it's not that kind of "Miracle". She gets fixed in 3 weeks. I think I'll start the process for Kirby after my friend leaves.

Supposedly the handyman is coming today to install a new reverse osmosis drinking water thing under the kitchen sink. I worry about arsenic given it's well water here and normal filters can't remove that. Arizona is known for a lot of arsenic in the ground water.

It's shot day today too. I haven't weighed all week. That's never a good sign of my state of mind!

Take care, all...

I was just thinking we hadn't had a good Kirby story in awhile. :)

LOL about Kirby's romantic disappointments.

132.0 bouncy bouncy....and totally ok with that

We've had over 6 inches of rainfall in the last few days as well as spending sometime in DS#1's basement during a tornado warning Monday ( no tornado, but did call attention to the fact we haven't covered a severe weather plan for the house). Kind of amusing my surprised confusion when the sirens went off and, ooopsie...there was no basement to trip down to and with solid banks of windows everywhere and virtually no interior rooms.

But the sun is out, at least for today and with nowhere or nothing important to do, here I set in the kitchen enjoying the view from those very windows that seemed so threatening while fresh made tahini awaits the garbanzo beans simmering on the stove for hummus. It is going to be a roasted vegetable, boiled egg and homemade pita bread kind of day.

There are things to do, places to be and people to see, but I have arbitrarily removed them from today's calendar and magically....No plans and will simply ostrich from the world and all its shenanigans.

Magically created winsome Wednesday!

No basements here in Florida for the recent tornadoes. Most people hunkered down in their bathrooms.

I broke through! I logged 219.8. An achievement of which I am proud! I'm pleased that a focus on goals and not diet was the catalyst for kickstarting the weight loss.

I was not glued to election updates last night. I figured I'd know soon enough the outcome and I was right! California issues that I supported did well. Sort of no brainer issues like marriage freedom and getting tougher on crime (which is ridiculously lenient in CA!). The other two issues that did well, surprisingly, were the two health care issues on the ballot: one limiting how HMOs can use federal subsidies for drugs and the other ensuring medi-cal health care for low income families.

Not much else here. Focusing on the same old same old - dogs, retirement, organization and eating disorder recovery and weight loss.

Congratulations!!

I was generally unhappy with most of the Florida results. Not quite like living in Massachusetts.

Unsurprising given Massachusetts is a "blue" state and Florida is a "red" state.
