152.6. 40 pounds lost and soon (hopefully) to be normal BMI. The 40 lb. loss necessitated a trip to the jewelers to resize my ring. Went from an 8 to a 6.5. Hopefully the additional 20 I plan to lose won't come off my fingers! They had to send it away to get it done so I will be without my ring for a month. I'll just wear my ring from late DH as it fits well.

Next stop today was a trip to Home Depot where we ordered a new dishwasher. Next step was the flooring store to discuss getting luxury vinyl plank flooring. Flooring guys will come to the house on Wednesday to measure and discuss options/pricing. We also went to a furniture store to look at new dining room tables but may wait on that one for now!

On our way to a neighboring town (about 30 minutes away) to go to our favorite sushi place!

Busy day for us for sure!

Paula, FYI, my ring size went from 7 at 150 pounds to size 6 at 135 pounds to 5.5 at 128 pounds.

You might want to wait a bit. in the meantime you can buy on Amazon some plastic thingies that serve as temporary ring tighteners.

I am lucky my ring size doesn't change a lot but it is because they have to fit over my knuckles which are enlarged from arthritis. So they spin more when I am thinner but the size is still correct to accommodate my knuckle.

Liz, continue to be fair weather boaters. No need to take unnecessary risks.

I started thinking about Christmas get togethers too. I took last year off, and we went out to dinner Christmas Eve. My kids prefer a meal at home, even if it's just us. I think I'm up for it.

Training today. All I can say is thank all that is holy that I am retiring, because there is some nonsense being thrown down. I am going to serve as an interim co department chair while my injured friend is out on medical leave. I'm doing that because I want to do what I can to help set a better course next year for my students and my colleagues.

My parents have told my brother he doesn't need to stay any longer. But yet my Mom is sending texts about she doesn't know what to do, and my Dad is being crazy. Sigh. Every other senior in my family, grandparents, great aunts, uncles, moved to independent or assisted living at the appropriate time. My Mom's brother did so when he turned 80. The question I've asked all my life: why can't they be normal? I've dealt with their crazy and their immaturity my whole life. Now its amplified.

Okay enough of that. When I was in Costco they had containers of cubed butternut squash for sale. I steamed some, mashed with a fork, and seasoned with a dab of butter and a sprinkle of brown sugar. Delicious. Thank you Costco, cause I hate trying to peel butternut squash, but I do love eating it!

No school tomorrow. I'll sleep in until 8am, go vote, come home for breakfast, then head out on my 120 mile round trip to get my hair cut and colored. It's freeway all the way, so not too bad of a drive. No snow predicted.

Winter squash of all kinds...so yummy! Cease and desist further squash peeling by cutting squash in half, pull seeds, then oil, grease, butter (which ever way you prefer) the exposed flesh and season. Place flesh side down onto a baking sheet or heavy cast iron and roast in oven till tender. The air cavity will keep the squash moist while baking and the squash will all but drop out of the skin as you scoop it out. For an extra treat, mash and prepare as you might a twice baked potato, restuff into the peel and rebake.

Your instructions are how I've always cooked winter squash sans double baking it. Yum! Squash with butter and brown sugar! Acorn used to be my favorite but now I prefer Butternut!

I will be driving 100 miles round trip from now on in Massachusetts. Having a hairdresser one trusts is critical!

Added bonus, mine is my Nephew's wife. I love getting the scoop on my great nephews.

That makes it worth it. I will likely visit with SIL on my hair days. When I am home at Christmas I think I have 2 days when I have appointments clustered there. I probably need to change my doctors and dentist to Florida as there are no choices way out on the Cape near DH's house. But I am keeping my hairdresser there!
