Fantastic! Welcome home to you and Kirby. I am sure he will be thrilled to have the change in scenery but he will probably miss your stepmother until they come there I bet.

Liz, I think these 9 days are just going to fly by. Lovely to hear your daughter is happy with her dress. And she is lucky to have your support and organizational skills.
DH is off with his best friend, drinking bourbon, eating meat and watching horror films. I treated myself to dinner from the deli at the fancy grocery store in the next town over. There was roasted butternut squash on the hot food deli bar. So good! Not a food DH enjoys, so I don't make it very often.
Perhaps a significant storm coming our way. No rain, but lots of ominous rumbling, in between peeks of sun. I feel like the in and out sun, mixed with thunder is a little spooky. A big shift in the weather is on it's way.
Sounds like your weather changes quickly in the fall just as it does in the Northeast.

Greetings all
It's foggy in our town but clear a few miles away. Northern CA typical. I started my day with my usual coffee and net surfing. DH went to our friends early to help with computer issues.
Dinner last night at the chinese buffet was fun. My friend who was sick for so long was there and could not eat much. Its concerning. After dinner I went to the Dollar store for tissue paper. The Dollar store after dark is an unsavory experience. Numerous weird-os. Made me skip a few aisles. Just as well since it's now the $1.25 store. They actually had wine for that price.!!??
On the way to the studio I stopped at the gym and did my meager walking on the treadmill. It really is a good time to go there. Practically empty. And I met another old lady using the elevator to go to the upper floor; thereby validating my own elevator usage. Next mission was the studio. I did some glazing. There will be enough stuff to fire kiln #1 which means I will have quite a bit of stuff Monday.
After that it was mission groceries. The main goal was to get ground turkey for the dogs. They won't eat kibble unless it has a spoonful of ground meat on it. DH was very concerned that they are not eating but he forgets about the zillion treats he gives them all day. Anyway all is good for a few days and there are chili makings for football weekend.
CC glad you made it home easily. It does sound like total chaos between the gates, emergency vehicles, balloons and scorpions. Yikes. Hoping the deck continues to go well.
LOL DD shorter than drivers license! Me too! And my hair is a different color. No clue about weight. Not going to look.
So Liz good on you for finishing photo stuff. Wedding countdown T minus 9 days! Enjoy it all.
Ann are you still mopping?
I am still enjoying sweet peas and am grateful that some of them were slow growing.
Bonnie I hear you on the moving deadline. Move it or else. We had a garage sale about two months after we moved cross country. Too much stuff.

In my previous moves, I would be ditching stuff as I unpacked because I didn't have time to sort when I packed. I'm hoping to mostly avoid that this time by pre-sorting in every closet and cabinet. We shall see how successful I am...

Liz, sounds like the hustle and bustle of the wedding is already starting! Such exhausting fun! I'm sure you are delighted. It is sad that your DD won't have Paul there. Will she walk down the aisle alone, or is there another significant male in her life who will walk her down the aisle? Her brother? Also, nothing better IMO than a bride who feels beautiful in her wedding dress. So glad your DD is happy with the alterations!
All of you seem productively busy. I'm busy, but not sure how productive.
I realized today while visiting my dad, he has turned a page in his dementia journey. He uses words that make sense, but don't really convey what he intends. Today he was telling me the audio on his TV was lacking. When I prodded him for more detail, I realized I had no idea what he was trying to tell me other than he didn't like what he was hearing. He kept using the words amplify and amplifying. Then he started mentioning the notes the broadcaster was speaking were wrong. I finally understood he didn't like the broadcaster's voice! It had nothing to do with her volume level. However, he was convinced that there was a setting on the TV that would allow him to change her voice into a more HUMAN (his word) and appropriate voice for a broadcaster. Sigh... I fussed with the remote to make him think I was doing something about her voice and he was content that I had made the problem better. He also mentioned writing the network to have her taken off the air because naturally they would be losing viewers because of her tonal quality.
Weight is good. Still in my minus 50 pound range.
CC, you are at MY Goal weight! Congratulations. I am now 25 pounds under my DL weight. Whoop Whoop!
Shot day!
Not much else.... CHOW!

For fun, I looked up on my calendar when we had lunch and cross referenced with my weight app. I am 21.6 pounds lighter than the day we met And in evidence of my total preoccupation with weight at every moment of my life, I thought about it and guessed I probably weighed around 206 that day. When I looked, I was 207.4. What a weird superpower...
