Greetings all
Oops missed yesterday. I had gallery duty all afternoon and then watched our football team. Thankfully they won by quite a bit so all is well. I did my walking while at the gallery.
Today is another great sunny fall day. Kind of windy but works for me. On the way to the studio I stopped at the gym and walked on the treadmill. It's pretty simple - I don't change clothes, lock my purse in the trunk and take the key fob with gym card attached. Used the non elevated device so it was fine. I must say their treadmills are newer and quiet; unlike the older one we have. DH is showing no signs of fixing it though he has a plan (ok a concept). But it's all good since I can stop at the gym on the way.
In another life I should have been a logistics expert. I am the queen of figuring out how to do things in the easiest possible way. I have a lot of cooking shortcuts and other life hacks. One can say I am lazy but I prefer efficient. Hence it works for me to stop at the gym in this easy way without locker room challenges. I think my gym anxiety may be more locker room anxiety; difficulty with locks, feeling uncomfortable in small cramped spaces, worrying about slippery floors, keeping track of all my stuff, being courteous to others and bla bla bla. The quick in and out to the treadmills may be the thing. I also hate noise and today was pretty quiet,.
What great sounding soup Paula! Very doable. Nice winter option. Will try it.
Ann don't over mop. So far I have no hack for mopping. (other than just don't)
Bonnie you are so right to consider what fresh foods are available seasonally and there sure is plenty right now. And CC roadside produce stands are so great! Good for you for enjoying them. Congrats on the new art work. I love old barns too!
Liz now I want lobster stew. Not gonna happen around here though it could be oysters. Glad you had a good visit with DS.
DD good on you for bright colors! Dare to be bright! Go tie dyed! And thanks for reminding us we all need to enjoy fall apples.
I am still clomping about trying to break in the new shoes. Queen of England used to hire someone to break in hers. If I could do that I would.
No clue on dinner. Freezer reconnaissance needed.

Now that's a thought: someone else to break in shoes! A foot-double!
I never use locker rooms in gyms either. I hated that in gym as a kid. I like to get undressed, shower, and dress in private.

I guess if you're The Queen you can get anyone else to do pretty much anything for you.
Re locker room dressing, as the oldest of seven children, i.e., nine people with one bathroom, I don't have many privacy issues.

"Dopamine dressing" is a new term for me, so I just went down that rabbit hole.
I like the concept, although I'm not into lots of bright colors in one outfit. In its broader application, I gather it means wearing the colors that make one happy and satisfied. For me, maybe oddly, those colors are navy, black, blue, white, cream, with a splash of anything colorful, which could be a purse, a scarf, jewelry, or even shoes.
In search of pants that fit me, during the last few months I've bought a long black skirt, a long very dark navy skirt, cream trousers, grey trousers, a cream cardigan with dark navy stripes, another pair of (blue, of course) Levis, a blue blouse, a cream blouse, black satin sweatpants (that dress up beautifully with black high heels), and a very dark navy pinstripe pantsuit with an extra long jacket that makes me feel grown up. I haven't bought that many new clothes in a very long time. Some were consignment pieces, and the others were all on sale.

I look forward to wedding planning updates! I hope the weather holds. October can be so beautiful.
I did go shopping yesterday, but shopped the clearance racks. All the new items were burgundy, dark navy, beige, black, deep teal... All fine colors but I'm just not ready to leave summer brights behind. I do love cream/beige/black combo (I have a lot of animal prints!) and wear those colors a lot in the winter. But even in this season, I look for brightly colored pieces, especially after reading about dopamine dressing. Apparently bright colors can impact our overall moods. I notice when I do wear a hot pink sweater in December, I get a lot of compliments.
DH enjoyed his formula 1 outing, and cheerfully told me that i made the right choice because it was really loud. Even the videos he showed me were obnoxiously loud. We ended the evening with a bonfire and old fashioneds. A very satisfactory Saturday.
Today, read the paper, do some laundry, and go downtown to see the musical, Back to the Future. We're trying out some wonky tickets. The old fashioned "boxes" on the sides of the balconies are considered partial view so are cheaper. What I like about them is that they are real chairs, and there is nobody sitting in front of you. I may be willing to give up being able to see the far left corner of the stage for these comforts. We'll see.
