Costco is a pretty wonderful thing.

Bourbon here! And yes re muddled orange and cherry. I can't believe how weird some Old Fashioned recipes are that rely on simple syrup for the sweetness. IMO, that's no better than bourbon and Coke, which is as uncivilized as it gets.

I use very few "recipes" but can generally tell you amounts and ingredients in the things I make! Here is a good one for all of you. Easy and delicious! Not much protein but you could add chicken or shrimp or sausage if you liked.
Tortellini Soup
4 cups chicken broth
3-4 cloves minced garlic
1 can diced tomatoes with Italian seasoning
1/2 package tortellini (I prefer Costco's 5 cheese)
smaller package of fresh spinach
Parmesan cheese for topping
Add broth, garlic, tomatoes and bring to boil. Add Tortellini and coo****il done (usually 5 minutes), add fresh spinach and coo****il fully wilted. Serve with Parmesan cheese on top and crusty bread if you like!
We have great apples in the fall here in New England. I'd love to bbring some back to Florida with us if we have room.

I don't like dark colors either (other than black dresses for going out). I find them depressing.

164.9. I thought that big drop might have been too good to be true! Still happy with the loss.
Warm and sunny today. Too warm to take Mom to the Botanical Gardens. DC1 hanging out today. Otherwise, shopping errands have been run, laundry is being done and I prepped tonight's dinner (meatballs with mushroom gravy) yesterday so that only needs to be warmed and rice made.
Anyone heard from Peps? Hoping all is well with him and his Dad!

I drove to Glen Arbor today (really cute town next to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore) to go to an art gallery. Normally the town is crawling with tourists, but not this month. My designer asked me to find paintings I liked in black frames for a wall in my family room. I found a beautiful painting I loved of an old barn (I'm kind of obsessed with old barns around here) and it just so happened to have a black frame. So it's coming home with me. It was a pretty drive too through areas with more fall color than we have here along the water. I did have to dodge an Ironman race with what seemed like over 1000 runners and a bike race in another town. September weekends in the country!
Speaking of apples, northern Michigan is full of apple, cherry, and peach farms (and asparagus m corn etc.). The roads are lined with sheds selling apples right now. They aren't coated with wax like the ones in the stores so they don't last as long. Apples in the stores are coated so they last nearly a year!
Aside from that, Claudia and I took Kirby swimming and now I'm thinking of starting dinner.
Hope everyone had a great day!
