It is chilly this morning. Yesterday we had a wonderful harbor cruise in the afternoon viewing lighthouses and various islands. Casco Bay is full of both and some have ferries going to them. A lot for DS to explore here.

We went to fish place on the water for lunch and I had a bowl of lobster stew. Amazing but I could only eat half. The guys helped with the other half.

We are going out for Sunday breakfast shortly and will leave Portland after we get showered and pack up. We stop halfway at DH's daughter's home to watch the football game and pick up Justice.

Not much else to report. Our adventures are over for a while as it is time to focus on house and wedding stuff. Have a salty Sunday!

Liz, as always, thank you for starting our daily hellos.

Your trip to Portland sounds lovely. I love so many things about that town. A good friend lived there for many years and is now planning on buying a retirement home/condo there. When I was working in NYC or Boston, I often spent the following weekend headed in that direction, although Kennebunkport, another sweet place, was a more convenient getaway.

It is still cloudy and a little drippy here from Francine. We are glad to have the cooler weather. For us, that means 65 degrees at 6am. But boy is it dark o'clock when I wake up. I read somewhere recently (here?) that we lose a full hour of daylight in September. It sure feels like it!

Weight is stable this morning at 127. In going back to food-planning, imperfect about it though I am, I am feeling more chill. I have also remembered that I do love apples, oranges, blueberries, celery and carrot sticks, i.e., veggies and fruits. I will also say that my stomach has remembered that it is not 2-3 times bigger than it used to be. My sleeve is such a good tool, and I will always be so grateful I had WLS.

Today we might just be sloths, although I will continue mopping the hardwood floors. I should do this more often. They are so pretty when they shine.

I mourn the loss of light in late autumn and early winter when the sun is setting at 4pm. But I totally love dusk lingering past 10pm in June and July. I tell myself to get one, you have to have the other.

We're experiencing the same here except, being somewhat south and west not so early as you. I remember going to school in the dark and, if I had play rehearsals, not leaving school till dark...

But, hasn't the full moon been outstanding these last few days...Just like day almost only it's 3 am.

Re the full moon, yes! Saturday night driving home from a dinner party, it was partly cloudy here, and the drama of scudding clouds and woo-woo moonlight was actually exciting. All it needed was a witch on a broom galloping around up there.

I forget sometimes the privilege we have and availability of fresh and tasty foods. I have all these cookbooks, but rarely do I explore other than familiar and convenient. Same with foods....Oh, the boring ruts I fall into. While I truly do not have access to your lobster, Liz, (living in the interior has true fresh seafood issues ) I'm reminded by Ann's fruit and veggies list of the upcoming apple and orange season! Why waste time and taste buds when one can enjoy Paula's recipes? So, keep up with your favorite, healthy and tasty foods and dishes . I'm off, after church for fresh apples, avocados, etc and garbanzo beans are soaking for hummus. Sunday football yummy stuff to be relished today!

Not local, but Costco had amazingly ripe peaches for this area. They usually arrive rock hard in our Northern stores. Enjoying one or two peaches a day as I go through the flat before they spoil.

I freeze fruits in silicone cupcake cups, cut up-freeze-they fall right out of the cups and into freezer bags ready to go.
