I have a friend that had a family history of Alzheimer's and she has been doing the brain games for years to help ward it off for herself. Not sure if it will hel*****t but why not try!
Yes, hopefully the new dose for you will jump start more loss. I would consider the summer a big win though since you said you historically gain! And I agree, when you get back to AZ you will have more control of the choices and social situations!
No weight today as the day started at my Mom?s. We are now back in Appleton. Drive there and back was good. Weather is picture perfect.
Today is injection day. First time I saw blood with the poke but it was barely a drop. Still didn?t hurt but burned just a bit after. It has been easy getting in my 1000 calories and I could have eaten more but didn?t feel denied at that level of calories either. Maybe a few belly rumbles at bedtime but I can live with that. At least I feel in the land of the living again and have some energy!
Will do dinner out with grandma and then tomorrow will need to do some meal planning and grocery shopping and start with picking up items on her list. She wants to do some clothes shopping too which is always a pain because she can?t ever decide what she wants and she is ultra picky!
Liz, the bike trip sounds fun but difficult. I cannot do hills! I like the idea of e bikes, especially for the hills. We walk and hike much more than bike but that may change once we move. We?ll take our bikes and then based on use decide if e bikes are in our future. One of the communities we are considering living in has a river with kayaking available.
Liz I think 8 miles while gaining altitude is very impressive! Only 16 days to your DD's wedding!!! Wow, the time is flying.
Like CC, we are having the best weeks of summer right now. 86 today, low humidity, lovely breeze. I'm loving it.
Today is the same as yesterday. Work is satisfying, everything is very steady right now. I am reminding myself to cherish these days. I love novelty, and adventure and excitement. But there is room in a happy life to string together some no drama days with comforting routine. And I do have a trip on the horizon in one month when we go to Galveston.
Greetings all
It's a perfect sunny day - not a cloud in the sky and it's not hot. Love it.
Our treadmill broke last night. It would start up and go about a zillion miles per hour and then stop. DH is consulting various sources on how to fix it since I doubt there is any service for it around here. I might call my gym and see what they do to fix their stuff. Big cities have repair companies. Not here. So I actually took a dog out for a walk this morning. Not far; not much but I did it. I hope DH can fix the treadmill as I have come to appreciate it.
So the elderly lady lost in the woods was found by a search and rescue team. Several teams came in from various counties. Her family knew to look in these woods because she had wandered there before. Thing is she is only 63. Obviously has some dementia She was glad to be found and was not trying to hide. Genuinely lost. There are various subdivisions that back up to this enormous forest tract.
Liz sounds like a lot of biking! Ebike sounds like a good idea. Sounds like a charming place. Glad the car will return soon.
Just ate an apple with peanut butter on it. Yum. Home grown apple. Very filling.
So DH is still on his adventure with the cable tv service. Had to go to their office to take back this card and then be on the phone. I am still in the learning phase.
Burgers tonight. Who knows what else.
Cheers. Diane S
Thanks for the info re the lost lady. She must've been pretty freaked, especially at night. However, 63 certainly isn't in my definition of "elderly." Dementia would, of course, cause a bad situation to get worse fast.
