OMG. The part of RVing I don't want to think about. If we buy a small trailer, it has to have a bathroom so I can pee in the middle of the night. Which is one reason we stopped tent camping, because I didn't lime having to leave the tent at 1am and walk however far to the bathrooms in the campground. We have already discussed, should we get a trailer, like Paula's family, all other uses are for emergencies only.

It is hard to believe it's September! The weather here though, is fall like today. The best part of fall, 72 and sunny. Quite nice.

The birthday party was fun. I like my brother's in laws. They are very pleasant to chat with. My nephew, my parents, my brother all live outside the metro area, as do most of their friends. With the exception of my parents, people are just amazed DH and I go to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Some are actually terrified of "the cities". They're worried something is going to happen to us. Of course you need to be mindful as you should in any city, but really?

This morning we went for our coffee, and now I've been puttering around, trying to get going to the next activity, which is working out. I haven't gone all week, but I need to! I am going to have to dig down for some discipline to continue now that I'm back at work. In the winter its a bit easier, because DH goes with me. But in the fall, he still likes to use his bike for his exercise, so I'm on my own. I love that he is into riding his bike (In Minneapolis! On the bike trails around the chain of lakes, its really quite glorious). He usually has good stories when he comes back. Last fall he got invited to a Liberian Festival when he stopped at a park and asked someone what the gathering was celebrating. Sometimes he goes to a park reserve, and sends me pictures of Eagles :)

DS is back from his cruise (Did I mention a friend's family invited him as their guest on a Disney Cruise?) He texted he would call us tonight to tell us about it. Looking forward to chatting with him.

My father worked in Boston and ultimately I did too. I commuted from the town my children grew up in near Worcester MA, 50 miles into Boston and back. I was amazed at how many people in that community had never been to Boston because it was too far or too scary. They thought I was crazy.

Claudia and I went in search of hostess gifts for a progressive dinner party tonight and struggled to find anything. The local gift store is full of Christmas stuff already! We then thought flowers from the few local flower stands and that was a bust. Then we met up with someone going tonight who said there are 45 people going! So we might just take a bottle of wine and call it a day. With 45 people, they are setting tables up outside, but it's freezing with a very strong wind from the north. Brr. We will be dressing warmly. My dad is irked because USC is playing their opening game against LSU at about the same time as the party starts.

I had a giggle today. The millennial generation of the family next door is up for the weekend. Loads of little ones between the three of them. None over 6 years old. The names are so unusual! Margot, Astrid, Odette, Louise, Florence, Harriet, Arthur... Funny when the parents have exceedingly normal names.

Anywho, boring update! Hope you all are having a nice long weekend. It was nice to see Shirley post on FB about a comedy show she and her husband went to. It's been too long since we heard from her! I messaged her a few weeks ago and she sounds very busy and her job is running her ragged. Miss her!

As someone who struggles with pronouncing student names, I would enjoy these. And I would be unlikely to have repeats in any class! One year I had 3 boys named Cole in the same class. I get a lot of Connors too.

Hope the party is fun, and you stay warm!

The names sound like they came right out of books. I love that kids have such different names these days.

I miss Shirl too!

Love those names! I would not call them unusual, but rather old fashioned! I have had an Astrid, Louise, Margot and Arthur as students! No Odette or Harriet though!

Harriet has a mop of curly hair, is 4, and has the most marvelous 75 year old smoker's voice!! Raspy and deep. Like Kathleen Turner of the playground set.

Greetings all

It's a lazy sunny day here. Still feels like summer. Not much planned (like always). DH has some kind of toe fungus so I agreed to go to CVS for some ointment. He is supposed to go to foot doctor. While at CVS I bought other things including contraband cookies. They had Halloween candy out. I was reminded why i dislike that place as I watched an 83 year old man make his purchases. He kept mixing up his phone number and his age which he needed for their rewards coupons and liquor purchases. Well that will be me soon. At least I found my favorite coffee and other goodies plus wine to take to party.

Then I made a stop at the hippie grocery for a watermelon and parmesan cheese so I can take stuff to tomorrow's party. I am going to need a hatchet to cut tha****ermelon (which DH has) or maybe use the power saw....

Sounds like everyone is busy. Paula I bet it is the antibiotics that are messing with you. Hope you can finish them up soon.

Liz so Justice has a pack! Good for him. Sounds like a wonderful day. GL on picture sorting. Yeah it's not fun if there is pressure to discard and organize. Better to just look.

Yikes Peps on the RV adventure. Some kind of omen. Your house car lot sounds like our neighborhood. No clue where all these cars are from but there are loads. We have one less now that the old SUV has been towed away. The college kids next door have already taken the spot with one of their cars. Not clear how many people live there but I count four cars.

DD so you venture into the big city! Big cities were fun in my younger days. In college we used to hitchhike to Chicago and run around. No clue how we survived. Anyway good on you for taking advantage of all your city has to offer.

CC a 45 person dinner??!! Thats a crowd. Agreed on wine; especially if decent flowers were not available.

The grocery deli had nothing interesting so its hamburgers again tonight. Maybe some fancy cheese. Thats about it.
