Weight 120.2. Apparently pizza doesn't cause weight gain right now. Only kidding - I could only eat one large piece. Hard to be protein forward with this crowd though I am trying to fit in protein drinks. Maybe shrimp for dinner tonight?
Yesterday was another full day with the girls. Lots of bonding. DD's future MIL has been separated from her husband for several years but hasn't divorced him. He is living with another woman. Her daughter and the other young women were explaining the legal consequences of staying married (not to mention concerns about the emotional consequences). Lots of encouragement for her to move forward (especially from her own daughter who said she would help her make a plan). Also lots of drinking by some of them but I didn't have more than 2-3 glasses of wine over about 8 hours. I feel pretty good this morning.
Today the plan is to possibly go out on a pontoon boat, then to the beach club. Dinner probably at an outdoor place on the water in the downtown area which most of them haven't seen yet.
I have been driving the group in what I would call a maxi-van. I rented a minivan but ended up with a Lincoln Navigator. The thing is HUGE. I feel like a midget driving it.
Time to get bagels. Have a super Sunday!

I happily skipped the party. They had a great time, but I would have been stuck there as they didn't leave until over 2 hours past the end time on the invite!
Last night I washed the couch covers and one slip cover with the armrest that had dog dirt all over it. Then while loading Diet Cokes in the fridge, I dropped one and the entire thing exploded all over the kitchen - the floors, all the cabinets, the appliances. What a mess! So I had to wash everything which was not on the agenda. Blerg. I suppose regular Coke would have been a lot worse!
Today I am showing my successor the treasury stuff. I need to go take a shower and straighten up. Aside from that, no plans.
Take care all!
Oh wow Liz, the bachelorette party continues into today! When did getting married become so complex? Destination Bachelor/bachelorette parties, elaborate invites to be part of the wedding party, wedding websites. I think I?d prefer to go back to the days of personalized napkins! Lol!
CC, boo on the exploded Diet Coke! Not fun at all! Enjoy your water views today!
I?m sitting the the Bismarck airport waiting for the first flight. Each flight is just over an hour with a 1 1/2 hour layover. Not too bad of a travel day. Temps will be hot when I get home. Jimmy John?s to the rescue for dinner. Quick, easy and not hot! Diane, I?m not sure how you do burgers ? so often! I need variety in my life and almost always refuse leftovers. I?m pretty sure my DH could eat the same thing everyday though! Come to think about it, I eat the same breakfast almost every morning (Costco protein bar) but I don?t enjoy them at all!
Have you ever noticed that most of those people like your DH who don't really care about eating are thin? Such a ******! However, I am one who will get on "kicks". I can eat the same lunch for a week. Breakfast, is always routine. Lately it has been a Quest bar and an apple. Dinner is where I need the variety. Luckily, tirzepatide has taken away a lot of that noise.
Laughing at the image of petite Liz wrestling with her maxi van. Sounds like you're hosting a very fun bachelorette party! Best Mom award.
CC, awesome that you finally get to wrap up your volunteer treasurer duties. You did your duty, someone else's turn.
Yesterday afternoon we did make it to the beach. I floated on an air mattress and that really helped with the headache. Will repeat today as it is also a hot sunny day. Two in a row, amazing!
Tomorrow is the beginning of the school year. We have training and time in our rooms for 4 days. Technically we don't work on Friday (ie don't get paid), but of course most of us work for free because there is no way they give us enough time to actually set up our electronic platforms, make lesson plans, get things printed, send out IEP accommodations etc. So happy thinking how I won't be doing this again next fall.
Our trip for fall break to Galveston is all set up. It's awesome to go into the start of the school year with a trip on the horizon in only 6 weeks.
The stress and unease I have felt all week still is in residence. Yesterday was pretty bad. I am unsure why, other than I spent a lot of money the day before and I felt like my three hours commuting to a dog club meeting was a waste because only 8 people showed up. But those aren't generally reasons for me to be in the doldrums. I was even stressing over the interior set up of the new show mobile. UGH....
On the brighter side, my weight is down. I have only 1.1 pounds to be in a new "decade". I now am also down 50 pounds from that high in December. That is a significant accomplishment. My want now is to be down 6 pounds by the first weekend in October. I think that is doable. That weekend is the big dog show weekend in Pennsylvania (Montgomery County KC for Diane S.) I will be in front of a lot of people that weekend because I am stepping up to become president of the Airedale Terrier Club of America. Yes, condolences are in order, I believe. LOL
Fun activity today is puppy evaluations. Buster's first litter turn 8 weeks old tomorrow, so it's time to look at show potential. I'm hoping one or two of the pups has Buster's fantastic presence. Buster is one of those dogs that catches the eye and holds it. Judges find themselves drawn to him. Well, at least that is the feedback I was given the few times he was shown. Buster will step back in the ring in late September.
I need to exercise more. I need to make that a priority. I'm feeling flabby and saggy. And OMG! I for the first time noticed crepey skin! ACK.... I'd rather have wrinkles! LOL! I know I should wear my skin with pride, but the first time seeing crepey skin on myself was a bit of a shocker. Ain't no hiding from that, now is there.
The way all you ladies clean there is absolutely no way I could allow you to visit me in my doggy dirtied little house. I'm looking at walls that need washing, the dusting that needs to happen, and a dining room table on which we cannot eat. You all amaze me with your dedication to keeping a beautiful house. I have been that way in the past, but really the last 10 years I have let it go. Part of it is Ron is a piler and a pack rat and I just gave up. But not only did I give up, I hopped on board!
Clearly, I am rambling.... I leave you all with best wishes for a wonderful, wonderful Sunday. Liz, you must let us know how many of your girlies were hungover this fine Sunday! That's one nice thing about being older... thinking ahead to tomorrow... I can remember some doozies of a hangover. YUCK! See... rambling....
Haha, you would be right at home in my house! In the last few years it has been my ongoing mission to keep the dining room table clear of clutter. And it is a mission requiring dedication and perseverance. So the clutter migrated to the kitchen table. Seems I can't have both. I'm also not big into dusting. If you don't keep up with the kitchen, the piles grow and you have no clean silverware. If you only dust occasionally, it really doesn't take any longer than if you dust every week. My theory is save your dusting duty for when it really counts. I'll let you know when that will be.
