From Vampires to Serial Killers! They all scare me. I don't like horror (real or imaginary) in my books or my movies. I guess I am just a wimp.
The engagement dinner with the 2 families went well last night. I really enjoyed meeting the other family members of my future son-in-law who I hadn't met previously. I knew his brother but not his sister - boy do all 3 of them look alike! The sister's 7 month old son was cute as a button and not shy at all. Getting a baby cuddle was a big plus.
This afternoon we are going with the engaged couple to a Woosox game (farm team for the Red Sox). The team moved from Pawtucket RI to Worcester MA (the city next to the town we lived in for 30+ years) just after we moved full-time to Cape Cod. I have wanted to see the new stadium ever since so today I will. Home finally tonight which I am really looking forward to.
That's the story. Have a surprising Sunday!

The summer collegiate league baseball team here in cherry country is called The Pit Spitters...
Today we have wind, but it's not cold. The waves on Lake Michigan are loud with lots of white caps out there. I need to do laundry and spiff up the place a bit. This morning was bacon and pancakes and I went just with the bacon. It was delicious.
Last night I made grilled chicken (yummy marinade) and a corn, cucumber and basil salad (better with some lime juice added). More deliciousness! Tonight is chicken wings.
Nothing else happening here. Hope you all have a great day!
Nice healthy meal! I copied the recipes.

Good on you, CC, for your cooking and for sharing the recipes. Impressive!

I don't like scary stuff anymore either Liz! Loved it as a teenager but not anymore. Same goes for scary rides. No thanks! I did go Ziplining after I lost the weight with VSG but the climb up the rickety wood ladder to the launch point about did me in. My heart doesn't need that kind of excitement anymore!
DC1 and I headed to the botanical gardens again this morning. Nice cool, cloudy day; perfect for taking pictures of the beautiful flowers. Dahlias are my new favorite! I'll post a few pics on TT once I get them transferred off my card.
Almost 22 lbs. down. I'm sure I will be there tomorrow. Only 40 more to go until goal. Feels very doable! I'm taking DD's suggestion and lengthening out my days between shots to get a few days with more calories in them. I was actually able to eat 1 C of cottage cheese with 1 C of pineapple for lunch. Have not been able to come close to that for a while. Jimmy John's for dinner (I get a little John which is usually just perfect for a meal for me!) I'm thinking chicken fajitas for tomorrow's dinner (no tortilla for me).
I don't do horror movies, especially supernatural horror! But I am okay with Vampires apparently. I could never watch this stuff in a movie theater though. I need the smaller screen and the chance to cover my eyes. Not horror, but super violent: Ozarks. I was interested in the characters and what would become of them, but I could not deal with the violence. DH would watch, and then fill me in on the progress of the story.
We needed to go downtown to renew our season tickets to the Guthrie Theater. (Just easier to do in person than online) We decided on a casual lunch at the Bar at Bullvinos, a Brazilian steakhouse. 2 appetizers to share and a Caipirinha ****tail. The bartender was a lovely young man from Brazil and we had so much fun chatting about what we love about that country. While there are many Brazilians in Massachusetts, not so many in Minnesota, so it's kind of a novelty. Afterwards, we made it to the theater, got our dates and seats selected. Something to look forward to when the daylight gets shorter and the Arctic winds arrive.
DH is now headed out for a bike ride, and I am headed to the porch with a book and a diet coke.
I liked the characters in Ozark but the story was just too dark for me so I had to stop watching.
That reminds me that we need to do the same for season tickets to our theater. We do musicals - nice and light!

Greetings all
Gallery duty on this nice warm day. Quite a few people came in and it was fun. Sold some stuff.
I have made a decision to contact my hand surgeon. My fingers are getting worse and worse and I can't ignore it. Not looking forward to procedures as I have seen this movie before but not much choice. We shall see.
Yep horror movies are not my thing either. Don't like the anxiety they produce. We started a new series "Bad Monkey" last night on Apple. It's one of those quirky detective shows set in south Florida full of oddball people. My kind of show.
Liz sounds like the new in law family is great. Yay more fun.
Thats it. Hamburgers for dinner. Kiln opens tomorrow.

We have a neighbor who I assume has the same condition as you based on your descriptions- he has had numerous surgeries on his hands. He is retired now but was lucky that he worked for a boss who owned the business and understood the issue. His boss helped work out how to handle work when he had to take time off (it was a job requiring some manual labor). Our neighbor actually tried to quit the last time because he was close to retirement age but his boss said no way - that he needed him a bit longer (and he wanted our neighbor's benefits to mature). They again figured out a way to manage it. There are kind people in this world.
