Greetings all

Early check in for me. Friends arrive late in the afternoon and I have various time sensitive errands to run later so here I am. It's foggy and likely will be all day. Main impact is choosing restaurant with view or no view. Thinking it will be no view but who knows. Our little airport is having an airshow with vintage planes this weekend. Fog is probably not a good thing for that. We are already hearing some weird airplane noises.

Agreed, Liz has got this figured out. Up early, getting things done, eating right. You go girl. You got this. Now go catch the cat!

DD it's noon and I am still in jammies. I see no point in getting dressed until I am going to leave the house which will be in about an hour. Meanwhile I had eggs, did some gallery banking and picked up garbage. Still more to do. Enjoy your days before school. My niece teaches science in Nebraska and she is already back to school. Seems so early but not sure if the kids are back yet. She changed schools to a different system so has to do training.

And hey Peps it's so true that a story or tv show can be so suggestive of food and instill cravings. Glad yours was a cantaloupe as opposed to tiramisu. 60 squats! Don't think I could do 6.

Lordy the airshow planes are suddenly dive bombing. Sounds like a WW2 movie. Guess this is how the afternoon will go. Quite loud.

Nice moment yesterday. Talking to brother unit and he mentioned what a good time he had here and that he would like to come again later in the summer! I thought that coming up here was sort of a duty to him and that would likely be the last time. Yay.

Time to get moving.

Oh that's lovely that your DB is planning more visits. When we visited our niece in San Diego I thought we should have done this sooner, and we won't wait so long to return. Perhaps your brother feels the same.

There is a plastic surgeon I saw on Instagram talking about how the idea that fillers dissolve over time or can be easily dissolved with a shot is very wrong. He talked about doing facelifts on people who had used fillers and opening their faces to find filler EVERYWHERE aside from where it was placed. That's why people get pillow/alien faces with too many fillers. It just spreads. Made me not want to do them! My bff just got them and I think they look very fake and puffy. (Aside, the gay male community has this thing about youthful appearances - and thinness - that can be so destructive! It's like women's concerns about aging and weight times 1000.) I would much rather look like Helen Mirren or Meryl Streep in my later years than Meg Ryan or Madonna! A long-winded way to say you look beautiful just as you are, DD! You all do!

I have been cleaning today as my cousin David is coming to stay either tomorrow or Sunday depending on whether he is able to stop to see a college friend whose mother is ill. Cleaning up dog hair and dog dirt is a full time job! I also hate dog smell, so I end up washing everything not nailed down.

Very cloudy, windy and cool here. Perfect cleaning weather.

I think that's me for the day. Take care!

Glad to know there is someone who gets it... It is hard sometimes not being one of the "beautiful people" in the gay world. Even in the dog show world there is a gay clique of beautiful people to which I do not belong... It's fascinating how that superficial part of the gay culture can permeate so many aspects of even 'non gay' life....

I think you look wonderful as you are!

I am glad my self-worth wasn't built on youthful good looks, though at the time I wished I had them! How traumatic if it was and then the inevitable happens and your foundation crumbles?

Yeah, that information about fillers would creep me out. And is it fillers that give women those weird puffy lips? Talk about a fake look! I was at a function recently where a plastic surgeon was there with his wife, some of their friends and his ex-wife as well. When they turned sideways all the women all had these protruding lips.

19 lbs. down. Yay!

DH and I hiked a 2 mile rocky and tree root filled trail today. Good workout for balance. Thankfully all ankles survived with no sprains. Only a few bumbles and no falls! It felt good to get out there and the cool weather was actually refreshing!

I found out that my secondary insurance covers Zepbound with prior authorization. Since there is a chance that tirz will go off the shortage list and not be available via compound, thought I would double, triple check my coverage. Of course prior authorization could be denied (don't know what they require as far as BMI, other meds tried, comorbidities etc.), my PCP might refuse to order it for me (though she stated she has other patients on it) and even if all of the stars are aligned and the med gets approved, it might not be available in my area due to the shortage! At least I have a month left of compound while looking into all of this!

DD, I did fillers just once after I lost all the weight with VSG. It was so very painful that I wouldn't do it again! The actual procedure didn't hurt as they inject lidocaine but afterward for days you have to massage the area to get the filler to spread out evenly. That is what killed! I routinely did Botox around the eyes and forehead before I retired but couldn't justify the cost after I wasn't bringing in an income anymore!

Peps, good information you have provided. My metabolism has been ****ed for so long, I don't think anything will bring it back! That being said, muscle preservation is key and I really need to step up my resistance training game! Like Liz, anything much above 1300-1400 calories per day will result in gain for me!

Diane, I am so happy that your brother wants to visit again! I wish I was closer to my own brother!

CC, how long are you in MI? This cooler weather the last few days is making me think of Fall and we all know what comes after that!

Doesn't it feel like September?! It is blowing like crazy off Lake Michigan tonight with huge rolling waves crashing on the channel wall. Not something we normally get in August!

i will be here probably until midish September. I need to be home after the 17th for my friend ride from Flagstaff airport (no Ubers or anything like that here), but before the 27th when I have friends visiting.
