Weight 123.2. And just like that it is August already. Shot day this morning. I dropped down to 5 mg last week and I really felt much, much hungrier yesterday. I was reading some FB support group comments where people were saying that most people don't feel the effects until 7.5 mg or higher. I wonder if some of the reason is because of people's size, though it isn't dosed based on that. I have also been reading articles and comments on maintenance doses. The theme has been to try lower doses and/or try less frequent injections. No real parameters have been developed.

I somewhat chuckled at the discussion about crappy patients. My son is really skilled at being sick. When he was a toddler he caught everything under the sun and had ear infections constantly. So much that we took him to an immunologist at age 3 who said some kids are just like that and once his immune system strengthened he would stop getting so sick. Of course he was right. But man, when DS has even a mild cold you would think he had the plague!

Speaking of DS, we were just talking about the fact that a week from now we will be packing his stuff and he will spend his last night here as a household member. He is getting his second launch (he was in California, then a different part of Massachusetts after college). He has been living here for 5-6 years, first to help with his Dad, then COVID hit and he lost his job and retrained. So it is time for him to be on his own again. But bittersweet that I won't see him very often after he moves to Portland, ME. Sort of like an empty nest feeling again, though I look forward to not having his clutter around all the time.

Last night DS cooked a pork loin and my SIL and niece came to dinner. We had a really nice visit with the niece (different one than the ones we visited with the night before). She went through breast cancer last year and is now trying to enjoy the summer and the freedom of not being in active treatment.

Today Justice is getting his little chihuahua teeth cleaned. Poor little guy but we need to keep them in good shape to keep him healthy. DH and I are going to the beach after my PT.

I hope you all have a thriving Thursday!

Apparently my dad is feeling slightly better today. Don't know what that means, but last night's drama was off the charts! How do you know if someone is REALLY unwell when every ailment gets the same dramatic treatment? Cold or hospital worthy? Claudia had had it yesterday. She takes good care of him, but we both lose sympathy when he won't see a doctor.

I watched men's gymnastics and then Katie Ledecky win her 8th gold medal last night. She's incredible! So far ahead of the others that she was the only one on the screen. My neighbor was her orthodontist and said she is the sweetest person and so humble.

Not sure what I'm doing today. Maybe I might go to the movies? Twisters is playing at our little historic restored theater:

It's staffed by volunteers and run as a non-profit. Tickets are only $6 during the day and popcorn only $2.

I think that's all my news. Life is slow on the lake!

Isn't Katie Ledecky amazing!

I know what you mean about the drama. Sometimes I think that I will ignore something serious with my DS because everything gets so blown up.

LIz, what will DS do in Portland, ME? No more restaurant work, correct?

Last night I cobbled a weekly dose together from my left overs. If my math was correct, I got a little extra dose this week. I didn't go as berserk as I could have. I still had an extra 20 units of 10mg/ml concentration left (basically 2 mg) that I chose not to use.

So, here's an example of "Fat Brain" or eating disorder thinking/behavior. I am not hungry this morning and am still working on my Venti dark roast from the Starbuck's next door. Yet......the hotel serves an included breakfast. I could smell it in the hall when I took Molly out. My nose told me eggs and breakfast meats were available. Of course, I went to check it out. I put some scrambled eggs and two sausage patties on a plate and made a waffle. Rationale? I can heat the eggs and sausage for lunch in the microwave for lunch. The waffle? Absolutely no clue. It was there and fun. Did I eat it? 1/4 of it with sugar free syrup. IF there was no sugar free syrup I would not have eaten any of it. So, my "free" breakfast sits on the table. I still fascinate myself with my well honed and ingrained dysfunctional eating behaviors.

Weather here is cooler than I've experienced in the midwest - upper 60s and cloudy. Rain is likely this afternoon. Molly has not peed since yesterday morning. UGH.... She's usually so good. She started this morning, but changed her mind. No clue what's up.

I am loving getting to see how the landscape changes as I travel. Grand Rapids, MN is pretty far north in MN. It's closer to the Canadian border than to Minneapolis. The woods and wildflowers are gorgeous. I've taken some pics I can share on TT.

Tomorrow it's on to North Dakota!

I looked on the map, you're about 50 miles east of where I went to summer camp every year as a kid!

No restaurant work for DS anymore - he only cooks at home these days as he has been employed in technology for the last couple of years. He is working for a company with offices all over the US, but most work is remote. He was prepared to look for a new job if necessary once he decided to move north but his company is happy for him to continue in his current job fully remote except when there are special projects for which he would travel. Cape Cod really isn't a good place for a single young person as the year round residents are mostly older. Portland Maine is a fun city with a lot of places to go and a lot of people in his age group. And he has a couple of close friends who live close to the city which is why he was familiar with it and decided to move there.

143.2

-5.4# down for July and kept within a# of 142 for the last 2 weeks so I think my body is done and happy with where I'm at. Hoping when all the moving is over I will continue to be as active (in more enjoyable ways) and stay weight stable.

Still Uber focused with house stuff (discussion excellent yesterday around letting stuff go); the more I let loose, the less precious things seem.

Rolling stones gather no moss and more stones (stuff) making their way out the door today. Those picture albums, though--somehow- could go digital, but not the same...are probably making the move.

Inspection tomorrow and then- hopefully just the closing and moving...

Catch ya when I can.

Unfortunately very few of my pictures ever made it to albums, just boxes and bins.

Rainy day today! At least it took away some of the heat!

Bible study this morning was interesting. Had a storm brewing outside and inside at the same time! Two of the ladies got into more than a bit of a tiff with each other! Not what you expect when a bunch of Christian ladies get together!

Liz, good to take of of Justice's teeth. We started too late for our Bella girl and she only has two teeth left now! She does pretty well without teeth but does have problems with keeping her tongue in. I'll have to post a cute pic of her I took last week! Congrats on DS's second launch!

Hope your Dad gets everything taken care of today CC!

Congrats Miss 150 on maintaining! Good luck with the move!
