A bit of calm in the whirlwind that is real estate. We haven't hardly been home except mornings and evenings since the house was listed 2 days ago. We had priced the house fairly resulting in multiple views both days; all resulting in offers over asking. So all offers were sent back with a " give us your best and final offer" ( There were two great contracts that had stipulated "offer good " till clause , so the remaining shows were informed - if they chose to view the house anyway- to also do the same). The offer we accepted was one of the late showings that included both the highest and a cash offer. Winner winner chicken dinner.
Oh, yah, there were also letters accompanying several of the offers that delighted me immensely as much of what I loved about this house was reflected in their vision for the house as their future home. Need to get through the inspection (anticipating some reasonable requests- 102 yr old house, so, fair enough). Early closing August 16th.
That's about it and plenty enough. Plan to continue enjoying the comfy chair.

I don't think ever in my life have I left a position or made any move with out knowing that there was something securely in place ahead. No thrill seeking, bungyjumping risk taker here. Buying a house before having sold this one first made me really anxious.
Do you have a location in mind for Florida? My family (Dads side) have been in the panhandle piney woodsjust north of Panama City since the 1840's- true Florida crackers. Truly beautiful there.
Congratulations on a great offer and quick sale! I'm sure it is hard to leave the house, but now that the work is done it is wonderful that it went quickly.

Greetings all
Today started cold and foggy but now it's sunny. I have not done much. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant with friends including the one that was so sick and in the hospital 7 weeks. It's great to see her up and about and totally sharp. She says she has been gardening which puts her ahead of me.
Speaking of gardening, my sweet peas seem to be on the verge of blooming but not quite yet. I want them to hurry up. The wild sweet peas are blooming all over.
Yeah Liz, stay in your home for as long as you feel like it. good plan. Ditto fuzzy blankets. My favorite sofa throw feels like a kitty.
Yay Bonnie house sold! Those letters written buy prospective buyers must be a big thing these days. We got them for our mom's house. Get it done. Move on. Get into the new place before winter!!
DD what lovely events you describe. Concert venue sounds super. Ditto shower. Have a great evening.
Leftover Mexican food tonight. DH hardly eats anything at the restaurant. Yet he eats eggs and toast an hour before we go to the restaurant. Go figure.
I got a call from the gallery that we were low on small bills so I did a bank run. Had a teller who was obviously new. She had trouble counting out $150. I had to help her...
Peps is on the road. Hoping for show pictures. The Arch Monument in Nebraska is really cool but not dog friendly.
Well time to go do my walk and balancing act. Picture me on a tightrope with a long pole...

A teller who can't count: what is this world coming to? I've gotten used to that with store cashiers but at a bank?
Stay on that tightrope- every time you mention this I think that I should be doing the same. I can barely stand on one leg to get my pants on.
