Good morning all ! One of my Mahjongg friends has been doing a two month RV trip out west with her boyfriend and two dogs. BF is in his seventies and went into Afib in New Mexico, and ended up with a pacemaker. He typically does most of the driving in their massive A, towing a big Jeep. They slowly were making their way back (2 hours a day...he wasn't cleared to fly) and had an accident in Arkansas. They totaled the RV and the Jeep, he broke his wrist and one of their dogs wa**** and killed on the highway. Several of us offered to fly out to help, but they wanted to finish insurance/police paperwork and wait until BF was cleared to fly, and they arrive home today. We have been preparing meals and stocking them up on groceries. Don't know a lot of the details, but they lost most of what was in their RV. I know I'd pack things like coffee, OJ, butter, eggs etc. to finish up from my kitchen before buying new. We've tried to anticipate basics needs they may need when they arrive late tonight. Let's be reminded... live every moment of every day to its fullest. Chip away at that bucket list.... If not now, when ?

Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! Oh what an awful cascade of events! How kind of you all to help them on their return. Poor puppy too...

My dad was not kept overnight. They purposely did not mention his history of sepsis as that usually means they keep him for days. They changed the stent and loaded him up with mega antibiotics and sent him home. Better place to heal than a hospital. He was pretty awful last night as he is a very dramatic, mean sick person, but was joking and seemed happier today though still a little weak.

My bites are still so itchy and my pants keep brushing against them and making them itch more. Waaaaah! Talk about dramatic! I knew I got it from someone...

Chilly again today with a north wind, but it sure makes for a beautiful clear day with no humidity.

Scale was down .4 today to 189.6.

I have tidying to do today (when don't I?) and my new mesh router comes today so I need to install that. And I need to finish my ballot and mail it back. Not much on it but county elections since I live outside the city limits. Somewhat aggravating to be affected by a town's policies, but not be able to vote on the people that make them.

I think that's all. Have a great day!

Hospital stays, yah, there is a time when I am definitely glad to be in a spot where there are skilled nursing and doctors. The minute I transition to recovery, HOME is truly the place to be.

Good on you for voting- local politics, often ignored, is where we truly have a say in affairs.

Agree about local elections. I live within my School district boundaries, and who gets elected to the school board has a big impact on my job. And who the mayor is has a direct impact on daily life.

I hope those antibiotics forestall any future complications. My SIL has a bladder cancer that requires scraping periodically. The first two times she got urinary tract infections. Since then they automatically give her antibiotics.

They load him up with pretty aggressive antibiotics each time he gets a UTI in his kidney/stent, but it doesn't seem to keep him from getting new ones. Age and an open environment don't help no matter how careful Claudia is with changing his ostomy bag.

Good morning! Travel went well. We were on Jet Blue this time. We got to DD's neighborhood about 12:45am, and found a place to park a couple of blocks away. This involved pulling suitcases down derelict sidewalks and down a flight of stairs to her street, then up 3 flights of the stairs of death. We travel to have experiences that are different than our daily lives :)

I'm so happy to be with DD again, and waiting for DS to arrive Friday. Saturday we leave for our beach cottage.

Today, no big plans. Since we rented a car, we will take DD to run some errands that are harder to do using using public transportation. Tomorrow night we are having dinner with some friends we refer to as The Boston Parents. DD lived with them the first 2 years here.

I think I remember those arduous steps - didn't y'all haul a sofa up those? Is your cottage the same delightful one you rented last? Have a lovely time with the kiddos; I know you will.

2 years ago my Aunt and Uncle loaned us their cottage in Ipswich for an entire month! What an adventure. They no longer have that cottage, so this time we're renting for just a week in Rockport Massachusetts, then staying a few days with my Aunt and Uncle in Amherst, and then back to a Boston for a few days.
