Got an email shortly after I posted telling family members that a stool sample from one of the affected residents was negative for noro virus. So, no telling what it is. But I think overall gut viruse**** the elderly a lot harder than us much younger seniors! Hard to think of myself as a senior, but AARP sure does want my membership! LOL

I am an AARP member, and am somewhat chagrined to say their magazine has many articles on topics that are of interest to me.

I think your precautions sound very reasonable. I'm sure you wouldn't want them to not tell you a bug was going around, so a little cya on their part and leaving it up to you seems fair! And the risk is not elevated to your dad if you go, so that feels better.

Excellent job on the 5 pounds!

You need to retire to do all the things you do!

I would go see your Dad (with mask).

Greetings all

Sunny and lovely here. Kiln opening today and I was able to get about 8 new things. Ran them up to the gallery so my area is not empty. I also got some new items glazed so next week should be big. I didn't stay too long as there is heavy equipment driving around with the sewer line being replaced. Noisy and dusty.

Peps I would go visit your dad anyway. Good plan to wash hands and take your own drink. CYA is likely the plan of the facility. My mom's so***** bedbugs on it; likely brought in by one of her many care givers; and the management had a cow but they treated it and it was fine. Steam cleaning fixes that. Hope you have a good visit. Your dad needs to see you.

So I had a couple of calls and messages from a friend who wants to come visit. This is the one I had previously told would have to stay at a hotel as my home was not suitable for house guests. Finally bit the bullet and talked to her. Yes they want to come and they wanted to stay with us. I told her we just could not do house guest but there is a nice Holiday inn nearby. Oh well. This is a good friend from way back but rather high maintenance and I just can't deal with the drama. Plus she does not like dogs. At least she won't try to vacuum or rearrange furniture like DD's friend. Oh well, not until August.

Well I think NOT tracking is a good idea if it's working. No need for all that fuss. Slim people don't do that - at least I think they don't. Better to go with body cues (she said as she contemplated Fritos).

Peeee-eeeeww Tesla has some major dog farts!! Any ideas anyone? She does this from time to time. Little Miss Fartsalot.

You are wise to set boundaries so you can enjoy your friends visit (should she decide to come), without drama. Holiday Inn can be quite comfortable. :)
