The back deck is cleaned and the furniture is out. One basement storage room is done and the second one is about 50%. Four closets are done with 2 left (my primary closet and a backup one with some additional storage). So we made a lot of progress. We have one room stuffed with donation items and half the garage is filled with junk. Today we are arranging for a dumpster. The big cleanup is progressing much more quickly than I expected. Surprisingly I have fewer aches and pains than I did the first day. Maybe because I wasn't so tired to start or because I took the naproxen.

Today we are taking at least a bit of a break to run errands like getting beach stickers. The 2 small front porches might get power washed if there is time.

Eating was fine especially since I was busy all day. I am still planning on going up to the next level in dosage though just until I get solidly in the middle of my preferred weight range at which point I will work on determining a maintenance level.

Have a mantic Monday!

We ended up getting more than an inch of rain. Some people got over 2 inches! And the Village of Oak Creek just w few miles down the road got none. The fickle nature of desert thunderstorms. I left the pool cover off to catch the rain, but this morning there are two fat toads swimming in there. I got them out with the net as one seemed to be struggling to get out, but they jumped back in. Dummies.

The interior designer's handyman is coming to finish painting the drywall repairs in my dad's room and install a new toilet in my bathroom. It's one of those fancy Toto bidets that does everything but your taxes.

Later I meet with the landscaper about the neighborhood maintenance contract (HOA board stuff), then I need to put together the Treasury report for my other board. "Fun" that they meet one day apart each month. Can't wait to be done with the MI board at the end of this year!

Scale was up 0.6. Eating out burns me again!

I should go get dressed and tidy up my room/bathroom before he gets here. Take care all!

It's difficult not to get a lot of sodium when eating out.

Those fancy toilets are amazing, but also a little intimidating if you're not used to them. A friend's Mom has one in the guest bath, and I'm always worried I'm going to press the wrong button and a brass band will start playing or something, and everyone will know I'm uncouth and can't operate the fancy toilet!

So intimidating! That's why I'm only swapping out my personal toilet so as not to have to give a PowerPoint presentation to guests before they use the powder room. I am going to have to study the manual for myself! International pictorial representations on buttons often go over my head!

I have one of those Totos, though it 10 years old now. I bought it after a trip to Japan, where they were EVERYWHERE. I love it!

Impressive work! Must feel great. DH "cleaned" the garage yesterday, which means he threw away about 1 box worth of stuff and then just rearranged the junk more efficiently. I try to just ignore it, as long as I can park my car in the garage and can enter and exit easily, then I try not to be bothered by the rest. But I am a bit envious of your team approach to getting it done. Although all the decision making probably falls on you, since it's your things.

The visit with my parents was up and down. My Mom told about 3 stories that made her cry, and did a few scenes from Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf with my Dad. He mostly doesn't take the bait. I don't say much, or get up and leave the room, until my mother started warning me how badly my marriage is going to go when I get older. Geeze Louise. I did object to that assessment, and I'm also not their therapist. They have squabbled and fought their whole lives in between being the greatest romance ever written. Anyhow, there was some pleasant conversation too, some cute stories about my brother's grandchildren and reminiscing about family pets. Dogs we have loved are a nice topic.

Our neighborhood is very quiet this Monday morning as I drink tea and read the paper on the porch. It was sunny earlier, but has clouded over. Hope that's temporary. It is warm, which is welcome. I'll go work out shortly, tidy the house a bit, and work on a project I started: decorative pillows for the deck chairs. Last fall I bought some sunbrella fabric on clearance and am sewing lumbar pillows. The deck needs a pop of color.

Friday we leave for San Diego. CCs reference to Ron Burgundy reminds me of all the great quotes from that movie. Hoping to "stay classy" while I'm there.

I know you and DH are going to do just fine as you age together. You definitely have a very different relationship from your parents

The team work feels largely because of my "disability". I can't do much so DH and DS have to step in. I would actually prefer handling more.

Golly, I want what ever you're taking! You're a whirlwind when it comes to housing clean up.... I'm done with my part of the outside (save final detail check after Kurt gets his machine shed and such cleared) We we were lucky and just have to make piles (there will be 2 outside and 3 inside, one for each floor). This Saturday, the haul off guys will come and take all of the stuff away by the 8' and 16' x5'x4' trailers at $100 a load. Thought the price reasonable- not having to drag upstairs, downstairs, main level and aways out in the yard to the hauling area makes the service almost Priceless.

Hot Hot and, did I mention Hot today. It's 12:30 and I as well as the dog are done for today. Sorting out the storage room upstairs- an interesting space; back in the day that room was dry goods storage, flours, grains, beans, dried fruits (dehydrated out on the porch roof, then jarred) any thing that was bulky but shelf stable. The basement was for cold storage.

Kurt just came dragging through and off for the shower- guess he's had enough playing in the sun.

Be cool, stay cool, you ARE cool!
