What a wonderful thing to do! And such a great example of the support church can be in people's lives. Really an embodiment of what community should be.
It's funny, I had low expectations for the starter dose and kept saying here that I didn't feel any different. And I still dropped a bunch of pounds. My first month was my best one (-12) and I wasn't working at it all that hard. I hope the same for you!
What a wonderful, supportive service (and you are so kind to be part of it).
You might or might not feel the 2.5. I did - not as strong the first week as it was each subsequent week but it did have some effect. BrownBlonde told me she never went above 2.5. I did go to 5.0 after the first 4 weeks, but have stayed there for 6 weeks now (I was scheduled to go to 7.5 2 weeks ago). I decided not to move up because I was getting nervous about getting enough protein in.

The fandeliers are no more. These guys are so nice! And they also work on appliances so I asked if there is a different dryer vent hose that would let mine sit closer to the wall. So they ran to get one for me while the drywall mud dries (and running anywhere from here takes a while). And while they were at it, I remembered I was getting "too hot" warnings on my other dryer so they checked that too - the vent hose was kinked. I will pay them for the extra work, but it's like having a couple of husbands ticking off my honey do list! One of them is from about an hour away from us in Michigan. No wonder they're nice, they're midwesterners...
Hooray for the disappearance of the fandeliers and to finding really helpful contractors!

Okay, just to let you all know i practice what I preach, my first meal of the day contained 32 grams of protein and was under 500 calories. See, it can be done! lol!
Also, thank you so much for understanding my "rant" yesterday was well intended. Clearly, it is something I am passionate about and want for all of you, too!
I am down a full 40 pounds now from my high in December and 35 down from the start of taking the meds. So, not a rapid loss at all, but I am so, so happy with it. One of my main goals is coming to fruition - tying my lace up shoes with no physical discomfort. I know that may seem like a small thing, but it is a real world, everyday type of functioning goal that is important to me. I had a super morbidly obese acquaintance whose main goal was to be able to clean herself after using the bathroom without assistance or having to step into the shower to clean. She was not able to manage cleaning her anus by herself. She could not reach it. The older I get, the more practical my weight loss goals become.
Lizanne, I am not a body builder by any stretch of the imagination. However, I would happily refer to myself and a strength trainer. I have a goal of maintaining and improving strength, stability/balance, and flexibility as I age. The more I read the more I am learning how important those three things are to longevity and maintaining cognitive function. I have a vision of myself as a very active retiree - showing my dogs, doing things around the house and gardening and being able to travel when I wish. To do those things well into my 70s and 80s, I will need to focus on those three aspects of my physical well being.
Not going to lie, I still want to be "cute", too! LOL! I just no longer have the need to be in the same shape as a male underwear model!
Lots to do today before leaving for Disney tomorrow. I'm so excited to be going to Pride Night at Disneyland. It's going to be awesome! I just know it. I have a Mickey Mouse Pride shirt to wear tomorrow, too. I'll post a pic on TT after tomorrow.
Happy Protein Monday to you all!
Peps, your retirement goals are what I want too. I want to be an active, engaged retiree. My biggest desire is to travel everywhere, and not be afraid of steps, uneven ground, long walks, standing. (Although I don't anticipate showing dogs, maybe watching a dog show?) And being smaller and "cuter" is nice, but I am never going to be who I was at 22 without a tremendous amount of effort, deprivation and painful and expensive plastic surgery, and even then, I can't be her again. And that's okay.
Have a fun day tomorrow!!!
