Greetings
Happy Fathers day to all. I may drag out an old picture of my dad and post on FB. He would be 101 if he were alive. I have now lived longer than he did.
Day 2 of The List. I am getting things done but also finding more and more to do. Have not even started in the back bedroom yet. Continued laundering of dog sheets and towels and other (human) linens. Gallery banking and bla bla bla.
Steak last night was an especially good one. Rib eye. I cook it in strips like Frisco does on the VSG board. Also made some tiny potatoes. Best part is there is plenty for tonight.
Interesting clothing article CC. I have always wondered why clothes makers didn't just size their stuff differently. Gotta admit that when I was super thin I impulse bought a lot of stuff. Some hardly worn and now given away. Hard to believe that Ozympec is totally responsible for whatever the trend is. I have a theory that larger people buy more on line rather than at brick and mortar stores. I also don't know why stores have such awful dressing rooms with hideous lighting and fun house fat mirrors.
Lots to do tomorrow. We will try to smog check our ancient SUV which will likely fail and lead to it being junked. Eye doctor in the afternoon and always the kiln results.
We started watching Masters of the Air last night. I like it better than I thought I would. I am kind of hating all war movies these days as I hate war. We also watched some of the new Dr. Who. I am not a fan of that show but this season there is a new Dr. Who and sidekick who are quite engaging
Must confess to purchasing a creme soda the other day. Enjoying the last of it today.
Snorkel away Liz. Interesting info on the houses up your way. Things will somehow fall into place.

I truly miss Frisco on the VSG board. He had no problem in putting it out the way it is - and, oh yes, those recipes. I thought perhaps he was in the foods industry in some way or another. It is too bad that forum has all but disappeared. It helped me out on so many levels after surgery and to goal.
goal!!! August 20, 2013 age: 59 High weight: 345 (June, 2011) Consult weight: 293 (June, 2012) Pre-Op: 253 (Nov., 2012) Surgery weight: 235 (Dec. 12, 2012) Current weight: 145
TOTAL POUNDS LOST- 200 (110 pounds lost before surgery, 90 pounds lost Post Op.diabetes in remission-blood pressure normal-cholesterol and triglyceride levels normal! BMI from 55.6 supermorbidly obese to 23.6 normal!!!!
I know! I'm amazed too that the forum is mostly gone. Everyone having VSG surgery must be in FB groups? I always liked the intimacy of OH forums because you felt like you got to really know people where FB groups always seem to be way too large and people ask and say too many off the wall things.

Just now ripped my IPad out of its (not) so Smart Keyboard. The keyboard more times than not arbitrarily releases the keyboard cursor which runs madly across the screen and will not stop. It has ruined my post attempts for the very last time.
Father's Day is a good day. Asher is over representing for the children's contingent and Jesse is enjoying the day from a father's perspective. All is well and good.
We've signed the contract (finally) on the house. We'd placed a cap on the time extension given them earlier and they used every minute of it hoping (we think) that we would cave on the fireplace issue. The sellers had assured us that the fix was minor and offered a $300 credit on closing and then we could fix ourselves. Fat chance on that. We insisted it be fixed before closing. Come to find out after the final contract was signed--the fire place fix is extensive, and it serves them right for all the untrustworthy and unreliable information during disclosures and after-inspection negotiations. Closing is July 8th.
We spent most all of yesterday washing the deck and will seal it Tuesday. Tomorrow is front porch power washing then painting porch floor. Hopefully the ceiling will clean up nicely as usual and won't have to repaint.
Good for you holding fast on the issue! I always have a tough time doing that when I really want something (like a specific house).

Life with an eternal puppy - my travertine floor gets small holes like all travertine does. I bought filler, but since it sets in 10 minutes, I went around the house (all travertine) looking for holes, which are really easy to find until you WANT to find them. So I'm putting a piece of painters tape next to each hole. Guess who came behind me and ate every tape strip I put down?

Happy Father's Day, though I'm not sure we have any Fathers active on this board.
We went to a local Mexican restaurant and ordered table side guac and they also gave this incredible bean dip and super yummy chips. Needless to say, I and the others ate so much of the pre meal that all of us brought home a good amount of the actual meal home. It was worth it for me! The food plus a half of a Margarita necessitated an afternoon nap. It was glorious!
DS #3 is still here and said he wanted DQ. Not sure if that will be dinner or if we will just forego any more food today. It is 6:30 and I'm still not hungry! I never get anything bigger than a mini blizzard or Dilly bar anyway. I learned my lesson early on that I get dumping from too much ice cream. Any liquid sweet does me in (sweet wines, sweet drinks, shakes) especially on an empty stomach.
First injection will be tonight. I'll let you know how it went tomorrow. Did you all have to increase water (I'm horrible at getting in proper hydration) and fiber to keep things regular? That's what I have been reading on some of the GLP 1 sites.
