I just downloaded a bunch of new books to my Kindle. I love technology!

Question to those on tirzepatide: I have noticed a couple of trends on the day after my injection and wondered if you do. I tend to have problems sleeping the first night - since I have insomnia off and on anyway, it might or might not be related. Also I feel lightheaded sometimes in the first couple of mornings if I stand up suddenly or I bend down. Maybe low blood sugar?

DD's trip here was very smooth. She was through passport control and picked up her suitcase within about 20 minutes of landing. We didn't even have to park the car. Last night we decided to skip the traditional first night pizza place (since the pizza isn't all that great), and went to the restaurant at the lighthouse to have ****tails and watch the sunset, then to a favorite Aruban restaurant in a strip mall. That restaurant provides all meals as a full or half portion (I ate half of a half portion and brought the rest home). The sunset was a bit of a dud but the view there is nice anyway. A couple of friends were also there and met DD for the first time. They definitely hit it off. All the people here knew deceased DH, so enjoy meeting her from that perspective.

Today is the usual take a walk, hang around, eat lunch in our room, do my PT day. I hate the PT but it is helping me gain my mobility. But it is so, so slow. Tonight we return to the best restaurant on the island (in our opinion) as part of a group of 7. We are here 6 more days at which point we will be more than ready to return home and face the moving preparations.

Have a saturnian Saturday!

Liz, you look so stunning and happy in the photos you posted. The sunset photographed well!

Rain forecast just about every day this week. Did I somehow move to Florida? Today we will probably go to a movie if it's raining. Spitfire, about Henry VIII final wife is playing. There are so few movies anymore that I want to see, so I'm happy there is one at last. If not raining, there's a kind of crazy art thing today we'll check out. A house in Minneapolis turned a dead tree into a 30 foot sculpture of a number 2 pencil. Today the pencil gets "sharpened", and there is a band, food, other art booths etc.

DH decided he wanted to go to a Minnesota Twins game for Father's Day. Hopefully it doesn't rain. I'm not a big baseball fan, but I like our stadium a lot, and I'm happy to sit outside on a warm day.

Kayaking yesterday was beautiful. It's rained so much the water level was noticeably higher, and we were able to explore some of the nooks and crannies of the lake we haven't seen in a couple of years.

I hear the rain starting. Hopefully it will be like Florida, and not be an all day event.

I follow a farm YouTube channel (so interesting and they are funny) that is based in MN (Larson Farms if anyone else wants to learn about where our food comes from!). They have had a terrible season so far. Too warm a winter with not much snow followed by torrential rains all spring. Makes it hard to plant when your fields are lakes.

Need to go look up the pencil and that movie is right up my alley. I too feel like they don't make good movies anymore...

I wonder if you are eating too little with the lightheaded spells? I don't have those. And I continue to sleep like the dead (which I why I get so cranky when I don't - I have no insomnia coping skills!). But I also don't have the jitteriness you and Peps mentioned. Maybe that's a factor?

The scale dropped a but more to 193.2 today. I am down 39 pounds! Seemed like I was stuck at 34 for the longest time, then woosh.

My two friends and I went shopping yesterday morning. Gosh we had fun. I really love both of them and we get along so well. We went to look for chairs for my neighbor who is rearranging her "kids wing" den. She bought two chairs. Then we stopped at this crazy store no one ever seems to know the name of, just that it has a giant metal chicken out front (I call it the chicken store...). It has the most mind-boggling array of stuff. And if they have one of something, they have 500. Kitchy stuff, do-dads, crystals, yard art, pots, plants, antiques, gas station signs, wall art, rugs, tacky keychains, snacks... It's a curio shop got wild.

Anyway, one of the gals (the with the gorgeous house) had a business sewing pillows and home decor. She has great taste and ideas. She suggested making pillows from woven rugs. So I got two really cool ones there that were dirt cheap. She's going to make them into long lumbar pillows for my sofa.

Then I wanted to stop at the kitchen store for a few more handmade coasters to match two others I got as a gift. Well an impromptu stop for $30 in coasters turned into about $2500 between the three of us! My neighbor and I are now "dish twins". We both bought the same dishes that are so cool! Dark brown ceramic with a coppery cast in really interesting shapes. I had no intention of new dishes, but I loved these and so did she. And neither of us minded if the other would have the same. The third of us bought a very fancy knife to replace the one her brother in law ruined. By the end of the day I was calling us the "bad influence triplets" for egging each other on to get things we probably didn't need, but were fabulous. Goodness was it fun.

Today I have a hair appointment, but that's it. I did get a fresh rotisserie chicken that made it into the fridge quickly. So no more chicken drama. I also got some filler for my travertine floors. Being soft marble, it gets holes occasionally and Kirby likes to dig at them. This you mix up and fill the holes like grout. So I need to do that. But that's all.

Whew, enough rambling from me. Hope you all have super days!

Oh my goodness, I'm recommending a movie called Spitfire when its actual name is Firebrand. DH was trying to look up showtime's and kept telling me, there is no new release called Spitfire.

Liz, what is the total amount of time you are in Aruba? You sure have been busy with all the kids visiting. The dinners sound awesome. I?m thinking your lightheadedness might be from dehydration leading to low blood pressure. Drink up girl! I lived the pics of you on FB too. You look so damn young!

Diamond, we love kayaking and I just mentioned today how we had not been out yet this year. Have fun at the Twins games. I love the Twins! Kirby Pucket was my fav! Enjoy the movie.

CC, your shopping with the girls sounds fabulous! Glad you have found some great friends to hang with.

We took Mom to the Botanical Gardens today and then went out for lunch. This evening we have a graduation party to attend. Tomorrow will be lunch out for Father?s Day. DH wants to go to a local Mexican place.

I didn?t know that Tirzepitide could cause the jitters. I will have to look that one up as I have to be careful about things that make my heart more excitable.

Oh yeah! Father's Day tomorrow! We will go out for breakfast and of course DH will talk to all his kids.

Unlikely to be low blood pressure since I am on 3 meds for it, down from 4. I didn't bring my monitor but the day before we left for Aruba it was a trifle high which is why I'm thinking low blood sugar. The jitters aren't much btw and they kind of go along with the lightheadedness for me. Not really that bad and only for a day or 2. I don't think that is a common side-effect.

We are in Aruba for 3 weeks. I have had a timeshare here since 2010 and just added a week this year because I got an extremely good deal for the same unit (these are deeded rooms for the same room in the same week). It is the airfare to Aruba that is the biggest expense each year but staying here is a pretty good deal.
